  1. Hi Shahlo! I wore 4in wedges for my beach wedding last fall. It was definitely better than heels and I couldn't imagine getting married in flip flops or no shoes, even if it was on the beach. All in all, I had to adjust my weight to the balls of my feet to keep from sinking in the sand during the ceremony, otherwise it was fine. I id lose my shoes part of the way thru the pics but no problems. If you want them, go for it. It'll work well.
  2. I saw one while I was there, I didn't take any pictures, a few people around the pool but not too many. I only watched from my balcony, didn't want to be an interloper.
  3. I purchased them at discountmugs.com go to the website and sign up for the emails, they send out 10-15% off routinely, so its worth waiting if you have the time.
  4. Shout!! My weekend is pretty relaxed, house cleaning/laundry on Sat morning, followed by some horse racing action (tv, unfortunately I'm not able to travel to the Derby this year) and some shopping for my lovely Mom. Then a Mothers day lunch with my family on Sunday What are your plans??
  5. It's great for a DW... it was my dress last fall. I have one, if your colors are pink and you are about a size 8, I'll make you a great deal (its been cleaned and hanging in the closet). I had the zipper removed and corset back in fuschia instead. here it is in action:
  6. Paula, my hubby went with linen pants and linen shirt. He was very comfortable and I thought he looked great.
  7. Su-weet!!!! I have a few of those, thankfully the photographers took so many we can just omit those. I may have to look for a few.
  8. Agree with what StarrySim said. Everyone will tell you why they chose their resort (I too picked IRHS, one wedding a day, great reviews, stunning resort, affordable wedding package....). You need to decide what you think is most important for you, sounds like budget from your original post. With that being said, pick your favorite 4-6 and make a list of cost, pros, cons and see which one stands out. Only be prepared, if you try to contact the wedding coordinators at most resorts, you will be waiting a few days for responses, usually its one person for the whole wedding planning department and they are swamped. Finally, don't forget to look at the reviews on this site in addition to tripadvisor, they have lots of negative reviews. I think I read that people with negative outcomes/interactions are 7 times more likely to talk about their situation than one with a positive interaction. (please don't quote me on that stat, it came from some training I scanned for work and couldn't give you a source.) Older reviews can be found in the "share your wedding/engagement stories" and newer ones can be found in the resort reviews (near the forum at the top of the page). Good luck!!
  9. wow, 35mpg, I can dream for 35mpg. Hubby bought an old v8 truck for hauling mulch and stuff. Its not pretty but it'll get the job done. Thanks for the compliments, we had a great wedding, I would love to be back there everyday.
  10. Yay, love new cars!! Is it yours or his? Its like a suv, right? Helga is a good name. I haven't named mine other than "the blue baby." Hope the wedding plannings going well. I kinda miss it, but am thrilled that its done
  11. Erika, I didn't realize you could self convert a car. The new car has the tiptronic mode, I drove using it a couple days ago. I'm not a fan (after just one try), its just not the same as punching the clutch and changing gears. I may try it a time or two again but imo, its not worth the extra money.
  12. Erica, tinting is a must. it amazing how much cooler the interior of the car stays. Go with the maximum legal tint. Its 35% in TN, the tint stores sell darker but I didn't want to risk it. I am so loving the new car, more each day, trying to figure out all the bells/whistles.
  13. Tammy, ah yes, def baby free here--cats that think they are babies but car seats not required. I bought the car from a guy who with a young child and it was not big enough. A friend who was outgrew her car for a minivan ended up with flame magnets for the side of the van. Sweet!!!
  14. Starrysim, I work in a clinic and wash my hands all day long. I really wanted a eternity band and got one but I very rarely wear it to work. I have a second band that has no diamonds which I wear to work.
  15. yes, I love it. It's supposed to be my daily driver but I enjoy driving it almost as much as the boxster, except its automatic--steptronic but I haven't tried that out yet. I had it on old boxster but the paddles to shift were on the steering wheel and not very useful/handy. Took her down and had the windows tinted yesterday.
  16. here is a quick pic, just after we got home.
  17. Hubby gets to enjoy mine, he's good at keeping them clean, although you wouldn't know that looking at his. Concur on the drinking problem and speeding past the guys at stop lights! Guess we are the only car girls here. I'm excited to get my 335i tomorrow!! its montego blue (bright blue) and has a 300hp twin turbo, drool.
  18. no mods, I love driving it around but I have never even seen the engine or even added oil to either of the boxster's I've had. I have however changed bulbs and fuses, that's the extent of my comfort with diy for automotive engineering. I laughingly say that there are mice/elves live in the trunk and somehow turn gas into go fast. I'm impressed with all your mods, you are much more advanced in your automotive knowledge than me. The next car is thanks to the wedding being complete and money left for fun stuff (not that the wedding isn't fun, but its different). My hubby would be jealous about FI's vette, he would love to have one eventually, but I get the fun cars and he gets the trucks for work which aren't as fast or as nice (he has a landscaping business and is rough on trucks).
  19. Thanks Starchild!! So details, please, about your Mustang Erica.... On a side note, my fun car became my only car today, I sold my daily driver (a 328i) but found a newer 335i that I hope to buy later this week.
  20. It's an 06 boxster s. I adore it. Thanks!!
  21. Nice Erica, I have driven my baby around a couple of times since the weather kinda broke (she just lives in the garage, no storage, that way I can sneak it out for a ride if we have a nice day in the winter or just need some driving therapy). I have Boxster S, metallic black which I love!!! Nothing better on a great spring day than putting the top down and zipping around town with the music blaring. I'll try to find a pic. my computer crashed and I haven't reloaded all my pics yet (thank goodness my hubby forced me to make back up disks).
  22. Hi Amy, I just checked and don't see them any more. there are a couple that are very close, just the handles are different: http://www.discountmugs.com/nc/tote-bags/2013/small-jute-tote-bag.htm
  23. Island bride, I only added hair flowers, boutineer for dad and coursage for mom and the steel drum band. It was beautiful without all the extras, I took fabric for the huppa and chair ties. if she stays the night then no vendor fee at all, she and her assistant are guests on the property. She didn't mention the room in her quote; it only came up after we arrived in Jamaica (I kinda freaked out since it was not discussed before hand and she paid for the room). if you have any questions about covering the room charge, just ask her. We did out TTD around 9 (I believe, it was a few months ago) and just did it onsite. We probably could have gone other locations but I didn't want to push since she paid for her room. It only took 1-1.5 hours, still had most of the day free. have fun!!!
