We had our engagement photos yesterday and it was sooo fun! We live in Vancouver and it was a drizzly day and went to East Van (think graffiti and train tracks) I think it will be a cool contrast to our wedding pictures which will be tropical/beachy. I can't wait to see them!!! Tonight is my stagette and I'm very excited but a little scared too... I have no idea where we are going! lol FI's is tonight too... I hope the guys aren't too hard on him!! Oh well, I'm sure we are going to have a great time and it should make for a good hang over day tomorrow! Busy weekend eh?!!

We're going to hand them out either on the first night when we all meet for drinks (we arrive at different times as we're coming from Vancouver and Toronto) or at our welcome dinner, which is the next day. We'll get the bridal party to help us bring them down. I can't believe how close we are getting now!! soooo excited!!

I've always said I'd be married on the beach and my parents have always supported that... actually they love the beach as much as I do so they were very excited. My FI lived in Maui for 2 years so his parents pretty much expected a beach wedding as well! We have been very fortunate to have supportive friends and family and haven't heard any complaints (althoughthat doesn't mean they didn't to each other!) That being said a lot of people who said for sure they would be there (ie maid of honor.... but that's a another story!) have bailed. All in all we are excited about the people that are coming to our wedding and know we are going to have a great time! I think the important thing to remember is that there is only 1 person you absolutely need to be there... your fiance. Everyone else is icing on the (wedding) cake!!

I made barefoot sandals for me and my maids (these are mine, theirs have yellow crystals instead of pearl to match their dresses) which we'll wear for the ceremony on the beach: For the reception, we're having it on the pool terrace so I'll be wearing these! Since they're 4" heels and my dress is hemmed for it, I bought 3 1/2" wedge flip flop for when my feet start to hurt! And I blinged out the bottom with the classic "I do" as well as our wedding date

@ Laurkarp Beautiful dress and picture! What kind of flowers did you have? Do you have a picture of them? I love them and those are my colours!!

It is quite durable and you can fit a towel in there with all the other stuff however it would be quite full. I'm not giving towels as the resort provides them so it's kind of a waste of my very precious luggage space!

@ Lauren1564 I just finished mine a few days ago. I kept them simple just our logo and "the vows" in english on one side and spanish on the other. Attached is my template... don't mind the first page... just some ideas

Hi Ladies, Just wanted to share the totes that I ordered from www.cheaptotes.com .... I LOVE THEM!! I purchased 24 natural color cotton canvas tote bags and had them shipped to Vancouver, BC, Canada for $44.76... That's $1.87 each!! They shipped very quickly and communication was excellent! These bags would be great for screen printing or even iron on transfers. We'll probably leave ours blank and decorate with ribbon so people can reuse them when they get back. Hi Ladies, Just wondering if any of you know where to get inexpensive solid colour pashminas? I've heard Chinatown is a good place to start but i have no idea where to go! I'd like either yellow, orange, green or white. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Lisa

Our invites... a labour of love! We sent these out on the first of November and I’ve been meaning to post this for ages but it was a combination of laziness and the craziness of the holidays! Anyway some you may remember from my save the dates (http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/63007/sunkisseddreams-diy-boarding-pass-save-the-dates) that I swore I’d enlist in some help. Well I’ve come to realize I’m a bit of control freak so it was probably for the best that I only let the FI assist! I don’t actually have a template for the pocket folds. It was mostly trial and error and I created the design in Photoshop. FI picked the quote for the envelope liner (he was so proud of himself... so cute!). The entire invite cost including postage and materials (I already own the supplies): approximately $265.00/75 or $3.53/invite! Materials: Hong Kong Cardstock (8.5x11) – The Paper Poet Grasshopper Cardstock (8.5x11) – The Paper Poet White Cardstock (8.5x11) – Michaels Velcro - Michaels Ribbon – Paper Poet Envelopes – Paper Poet Supplies: Paper cutter, 2†round punch, glue stick, double sided adhesive, bone, scissors, & ruler.

@Starrysim- I like Jill the best! I'm a Sottero & Midgley girl too and I bought Sidney... It comes in later this month and I can't wait to put it on again!!

Great review beachykeen! You mentioned that the buffet had pretty paper lanterns strung above it. Did the resort provide the paper lanterns or did you bring them? How many were there and approximately what were the sizes? Do you happen to have a pictures of it? or any of your reception set up for that matter?
