Hi Laurelyn, I've been out of touch with the BDW site since our wedding at OB and am trying to catch up. So happy to hear that other brides are getting married there. You will not be disappointed. I had to comment to your post because I got married on March 14, 2011 and it was so amazing. Ada is actually quite great to work with.Yinette is her assistant. As well the resort is not that big walking wise, I'd say a 5 minute walk from one end ot the other. I have my review posted but feel free to ask any questions. I'll do my best to check in more often. We were just married at Ocean Blue and Sands and we used DJ Mannia with the lighted dance floor and it was EXCELLENT. We and our guests had so much fun and our guests were surprised as they did not know anything about it. We met with them the day before the wedding and went through song selections for introductions, cake cutting ,etc. and other than that gave them a few songs in advance that we wanted to hear and let them take care of the rest. They were great and we had an added surprise when they gave out long balloons to everyone on the dance floor. They a were a hit. The dance floor was a last minute decision for us and we are so glad we did it. Everyone was dancing from start to finish and didn't want the party to stop.

Yes, you can use an outside photographer you just have to pay the $50 day pass. We are using HDC Photography.

We have them booked for our wedding in Punta Cana at Ocean Sands and we booked them directly not through the resort. We are being charged $850 for 4 hours which would be $212.50 an hour.

Has anyone heard from Yinette or Ada (if she's back) lately? I sent 2 emails last week and then again this week and have not heard back from them. Usually the response is quite quick. Understandably it is a very busy time for them but my wedding is in 2 weeks and I need to confirm some things with them.

That dress is beautiful and looks great on you. My dress looked nothing like that on me until I had to go for fittings so I'd say keep the dress. I actually like the flower but also think your idea of removing it and adding abelt would look good as well. Either way the dress and the dress on you is amazing.

Hi Diva, We are there until the 19th as well. Lunch at the Hard Rock sounds good. I had no idea they have one there. Let's plan something closer too and we'll PM each other our details and pick a date to meet up. I have no idea how to get around or where things are but we'll figure it out. what resort are you at? I'm still ordering and buying stuff for the OOT bags like pahminas and travel mugs and this weekend am going to try and get my table decorations all figured out and packed. I bought all the stuff but it's just thrown into a closet. One project a weekend. I'm also going for my first dress fitting this weekend. Yikes, this is starting to feel real.

Is everyone starting to freak out like I am at how close March is getting? I'm trying to get my head around all of the things I still need to do.

My fiance is also a huge fan of the movie so Ibought him the blue ray box set that come swith all kinds of extras. He will be so excited and I can't wait to watch it again.

I'm in the same situation and spent way more on my dress than I had planned and was debating if I should get a second dress for the TTD. My FI has a good point and said, "you won't wear it again so if it gets a little ruined what's the big deal?". I thought about it and he's right and si I won't spend the money on a second dress. I am happy to hear that OceanWonderland's dress was fine afterwards so this makes me feel better. Thanks!

We had the same thing happen with West Jet/Sunquest this past summer for our wedding in March. I received a call saying the flight was sold out except for my 20 seats we had put a deposit down on. We arrive on Saturday and get married Monday and there were no other flights after Saturday. We got who needed to be on that flight with us and were able to get others booked before our arrival. in the end things worked out and we have all 40 people booked but for that week of scrambling trying to get people booked it was quite stressful.

Has everyone got the notice that Ada is off now until February? Has anyone else received quotes to use the Dominican Trio for the ceremony? We have as part of our package for the cocktail hour and I figured if they will be there anyway I'd also like to use for the ceremony and not have to worry about music to walk down the aisle to. It also gives an island fare to things. I asked Ada how much for the ceremony and she quoted me $252 which makes no sense as on the price list it says $200 for an hour and the ceremony is 20 minutes. I'd also be interested in hearing anyone's quotes for the beach set up for the ceremony as I've been quoted from $550-$750 and once again the price list says $390. I think sometimes the prices are made up to see what they can get and I'd like to compare so I can negotiate.

Wea re giving out OOT bags when ereryone arrives but at the actual weddig we are giving out shot glasses that we had personalized that we will also incorporate into the toast/kiss thing. We are leaving the toasts open and informal however if you want us to kiss you get up, wish us well and take a shot. I think I'll put a bottle of tequila or something similar on each table for that purpose.

I'm not sure who your travel agency is but I had put down a deposit for 20 people and we had one available spot/room and we got our money back for the one not booked.

Yes, it was the Booty Fitness Camp that is women only. I know they are expanding into the U.S. and highly recommend if there are any in your area.

Yahoo, finished my 8 weeks of boot camp and am down 13lbs and 12.75 inches all over. Now I have to find the motivation to keep this up at home.

I received pricing for the ceremony decorations yesterday and was shocked at the price they are charging. This is $750 and there is a similar setup with less flowers for $650. I can't seem to post that picture. We get the white chair covers and bows in our package so I am finding this extremely expensive for a 15-20 minute ceremony. What is everyone else doing or did for their wedding ceremony setup?

Bummer, I went to Ardene's yesterday at the Rideau Centre and they did not have them. If anyone else knows where in Canada to buy/order without the duty charges please let me know. Will have to check other Ardenes.

My fiance is a graphic designer and designed it. It's been great having him with this background as he designed out STD's, invitations, logo, website and I've got many more projects for him.
