How many guests will you have? I'm getting married at Merriman's - Kapalua in June. The site fee was $500 for their grassy area overlooking the ocean/beach, but that particular area is probably too small if you have more than 40 guests. The Seahouse was about the same price I think.. Those are some of the more reasonably priced options I found. There were some nice options on Kaanapali Beach as well at some resorts, but you're not allowed to have professional photos taken ON the beach.. that was a deal breaker for me, but if that doesn't bother you - there are quite a few options. If you have a wedding planner - they will definitely have suggestions. Deanne with Precious Maui Weddings did a great job giving me options within my budget.

Okay so we are definitely keeping the suit. We found these linen blend pants at Old Navy for the groomsmen (FI loves them, says they are really comfy) The bridesmaids are wearing these in bright sunshine yellow But still uncertain about what shirt my FI should wear under his jacket and what type of shirt the groomsmen should wear. Still thinking maybe a yellow shirt under the jacket with matching shirts for the groomsmen (with the rolled up sleeve look)... Thoughts? We have been looking at short sleeve yellow button shirts too..

So we bought my FI's suit today! Now we aren't sure what to do about a shirt with it and what the groomsmen should wear... The groomsmen are going to be barefoot, and FI MIGHT wear brown sandals. Here are some pictures... I was thinking maybe this yellow shirt he is wearing underneath. Maybe open and more casual? And this is what the groomsmen would look like. Thinking the rolled up sleeve casual look... What do you guys think about the shirts?? We don't know what to do.. The bridesmaids are wearing bright yellow short dresses.. advice please!? I wasn't planning on a button up shirt - but I think it looks nice?

This particular one costs $389 for the full ten weeks.. I live in Des Moines, Iowa and we have quite a few different 10 week extreme workout gyms. The one I signed up for is a franchise and has different prices at different locations. I have seen some that are similar to the P90X videos - where they do yoga, strength training, kickboxing, core - a different thing each day. The one I'm doing just alternates kickboxing and bands.

Yes.. I have a contract with them. But the contract just says something along the lines of "the menu enclosed has ideas for your menu" or something along those lines. I'm hoping that when the new coordinator starts she'll work with me on everything... I think that this coordinator just figures it's not really her problem, she's done tomorrow. So she wasn't super helpful on information.

I just signed up for "Ferrals Extreme Bodyshaping"!! (I believe this is only in a few states in the Midwest) It's a 10 week intense workout - 6 days a week of kickboxing and bands. There are coaches, classes, and a meal plan. My little sister is just finishing up her ten weeks and is loving it. I decided I couldn't let my maid of honor show me up at my own wedding, haha! So I just signed myself up (with my FI!!) - I start March 19 and I end May 29th. My wedding is June 7 (leave for Hawaii June 4), so perfect timing! I'm excited I also told my sister we should have a fight out on the beach the day after the wedding, haha - she thinks I'll be no competition - we'll just see about that!

So I just happened to look at the revised 2010 catering menu online.. Over half of the appetizers have been taken off the menu! There is one page of options now.. My AHR is supposed to be appetizers and cake -- we're having high tops and low tops with appetizer stations throughout. No head table- pretty much just snacks and drinks. Going for more of a social gathering - a month after the wedding. I just emailed my coordinator (who by the way has her LAST day tomorrow before transferring to a new job) asking about the new menu. She reassured me that the prices didn't really change, that they just took a few things off the menu and everything should work out okay. That I just need to talk to the new coordinator - whenever they get one hired.. I'm sure it will all work out.. but I wish I knew.. I already sent out invites for an appetizer reception at 7:30pm. I wanted all finger food (so people don't have to sit at a table with silverware and everything). I wanted the most social type of atmosphere I could make. The options available to me now are carving stations and fancier food like salmon (gross) and crab.

So I just sent out my invites! I was really excited about it and was waiting to hear that my guests had received them in the mail. They had my wedding invite, reception card, and rsvp card/envelope as well as my AHR invite & rsvp card/envelope AND luggage tags for any confirmed guests... Sooooo my aunt calls me last night (first one to contact me that she got my invite in the mail!) laughing... She says she had to call me and give me a little crap. I instantly got really nervous like I left the date or location off, or that I spelled a bunch of things wrong somehow.. She had to pay the post office to get her invite Oh nooooo -- it was only 17 cents, but still! I instantly got really nervous that ALL my guests had this problem! I'm an idiot! I didn't think anything of it! Luckily, so far I haven't heard this from any other guests. I have even checked with a few cousins and my parents. The aunt that called just happens to be the only family with 4 confirmed guests. That extra luggage tag just happend to put the weight over the limit! I have talked to two families with 3 confirmed guests and they got there's fine. I still feel stupid! But at least (so far) only one family had this problem. I'm glad it was my care-free aunt that just gave me a call to laugh.

I think you can do whatever you want If you want all BM - go for it. He can still have a best man. I keep running into things like this and I just keep telling myself - there really isn't anything traditional about having a DW anyways. So I can really go with anything. I have two sisters and couldn't decide - so I'm having 2 MOH. That's another option? They are both younger & would probably prefer to share some responsibility anyways

I am keeping the tradition as well. I'm even going to keep it stored at the bridal store just to make sure he doesn't accidentally see it I actually don't want him to see me at all the day of the wedding either, until the ceremony - but our wedding isn't until 5:45pm Is anyone else doing this? Or are most people just not letting him see you in your dress until the ceremony? It sounds like it might be difficult to avoid him for an entire day when EVERYONE is staying at the same resort. We already decided we would stay with our parents the night before, but I feel like I'm bound to run into him walking to the beach or something..

I saw that Safeway does wedding cakes... There is one in Lahaina. Has anyone ever used them?

Dated almost 5 years before engaged & will be engaged for 1 year before the wedding..

I'm doing real flowers - yellow calla lily bouquet. I want it small and simple with no other flowers in it. Hopefully like this --> My bridesmaids are wearing bright yellow dresses and they are each carrying a single white calla lily :-)
