  1. It didn't seem to me that the island was the "in between" place. It seemed like the island really happend and the side story was the "in between"... right??
  2. I liked it too. My FI is still mad about it.. but could you have really expected more explanation than that?? Honestly? After so many season of no answers and so many questions - I really thought they explained more than I expected! haha - of course I still have questions that keep popping into my head too Overall it was good - I am also very sad it is over...

  4. Is there another season?? I thought I had heard it was ending..

  7. Loops & Cards still available... 95 cards -- $7 (free shipping in US) 50 loops -- $13 (free shipping in US)

Thus far I think we'll definitely do a jeep/ATV tour (though I can't decide between Tomcars and the ABC Tours), definitely a snorkel/sail tour, happy hour on the beach (TA Maureen - I know you had mentioned Moomba happy hour or something like that in another post - what is that?!), and dinner at my hotel's restaurants, and hopefully Passions, El Gaucho, Flying Fishbone, Smoky Joes, etc. Does anyone know if any of those restaurants are far from Palm Beach area? I'd prefer to stick w/ the restaurants that are closer to our resort since the farther it is the more expensive it will be to get there I'm guessing! Hey Jamie, We weren't sure about the flights either and actually TA Maureen told me to use DAE (DAE - Book your flight to Aruba, Bogota, Bonaire, Caracas, Curacao, Santo Domingo, St. Maarten, Valencia - Dutch Antilles Express - Book your flight to Aruba, Bogota, Bonaire, Caracas, Curacao, Santo Domingo, St. Maarten, Valencia - Dutch Antilles Ex) so we booked our international flight from AUA to CUR through them. It was only $112 for the two of us and it's a 30 minute flight. I'm so excited!! Thanks for the advice! I remember reading something about Bully before too - I just emailed him and hopefully he'll be available to pick us up in Aruba!! It won't really matter how far from your resort you go for dinner (around the beach or to town) because it costs $1 to get just about everywhere. There is one main road and you just hop on a bus and get off when you want. There are happy hours EVERYWHERE and nearly ALL DAY -- just walk the beach. The happy hours are different at each resort.
  9. I have been to Aruba several times and my group always goes on the Jolly Pirates - always the highlight of our trip. I have also done the Kukoo Kunuku party bus a couple of times - this is fun with a bunch of people you know, but I don't think I would recommend it for just the two of you.. Senior Frogs is fairly new there and I did try their party bus a couple years ago and really liked that. It's a little shorter and a little cheaper.. only goest to Senior Frogs instead of bar hopping - but there were 4 of us (2 couples) and we really enjoyed it!! I also really enjoyed Mi Dushi sunset snorkel. I don't really snorkel - but there were lots of people on the boat who had the same idea as me ride around on a boat for a few hours having drinks and appetizers! I have heard the jeep tour is great, but I have not done that before. I also enjoy all of the water activities - you will see this all over the beach and prices are negotiable!! We love to tube, banana boat, parasail, etc. The town has some good shopping. Don't go to the mall though... go back a couple roads from the main street and you'll find lots of touristy shops and market stands. Much more to offer at better prices. And there are soo many restaurants - I really like the Iguana restaurants (Iguana Joes, Iguana Cantina, Smokey Joes) I wouldn't recommend a car in Aruba- it's really not necessary. The bus is $1 and comes very often. We always taxi from the airport to our hotel ($25). I'm a huge beach bum - but there are lots of activities to do while you're there! Oh I just love Aruba- you will have a GREAT time!! I could go on and on... haha, so I'll stop now - I'm curious to see what other people love to do there b/c I'm always looking for new fun things!

I'm hoping to find a condo complex for our guests to all stay at together. Did you get a price break for booking a bunch together? my guests and I actually all ended up renting people's timeshare weeks at Sands of Kahana - so no, we did not get any type of discount for bringing all of our guests to the same condo. I actually have an aunt that owns timeshare weeks there so it worked out good, and the prices for additional rooms (rented through owners) online was very reasonable as well. My FI's parents' room is actually a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom condo with at least 2 balconys - so they are having the food catered to their room and we are having the rehearsal dinner there.
  11. Congrats! Aruba is amazing!! It will be wonderfull!
  12. Did American Airlines say you could hang it up front? I think I'm going to be on a really small connecting plane from Minn to Chicago - at least the flight will be short if they have to cram it in somewhere...
  13. I think that you could probably plan it on your own. It sounds like you have really thought through what you need to do. For me - it took a lot of stress off. If you would like to find a planner - you can definitely find one that doesn't charge so much... I would also say Deanne (Precious Maui Weddings) has had very reasonable prices. She even booked my location at cost - so it didn't cost any more that it would have been booking it myself. I haven't noticed any ridiculous mark up in prices. But other than that - I can't think of anything you're missing. Maybe transportation if the reception will be far from the ceremony? Good luck!
  14. I have 98 of the cards and 50 plastic luggage tag loops left FS if anyone has an offer!
  15. Very exciting! I have never been to St Thomas, but I am sure it will be amazing and very beautifull!! Congrats
  16. I also think it's fine if it's a small group or just family & close friends. I definitely wouldn't do it if your'e thinking 400 full out reception. A lot of the close family/friends would probably offer to help regardless. But I do like hoyt75's idea of asking a small number of close relatives to bring something. I had considered doing an outside dessert reception and asking family members to each bring a dessert - I didn't think a thing of it. But I ended up deciding to go with a catered AHR. We are doing appetizers and cake (7:30pm reception). It cuts costs and it encourages more of a social atmostophere than a seated dinner.. something like this might be an option to cut costs? But I also like the ideas of BBQs and dessert receptions

  19. I'm a Maui June bride. Our wedding is at 5:45 and my WC said the sun sets around 7:00. We are doing pictures after the ceremony. She says it should work out perfectly... So I would think your timeframe is okay. I think a lot depends on the length of your ceremony - which you could just ask your minister..
  20. 100 of the cards are spoken for -- I actually have 98 left to be exact and I still have the plastic loops
  21. I have 50 luggage tag loops ($15 with free shipping to US) They are the plastic kind that just look like this -- I also have a bunch of these business card sized cards (maybe 200) that I used for luggage tags. I ended up buying self laminating pouches and attached ribon. Here are some pictures of the cards in my luggage tags.. ($7 for 100 with free shipping to US or $12 for 200 with free shipping to US) FRONT: BACK: (accepting Pay Pal)
  22. Oh my gosh - I have none of this stuff & My wedding is June 7... Well, except the new. New dress, new shoes, hair flower. I would love to see everyone's ideas
  23. My FI LOVES his ring and it was only $100. He picked out a titanium ring - he didn't want any diamonds and he didn't like any of the gold ones. I think his favorite part is how light it is. Engraving was included in buying a new ring too so $100 was my total.
  24. I just invited the people that I regularly talk to and socialize with outside of work. I would think that people you don't even talk to probably wouldn't want to come anyways, but would probably feel obligated to.
  25. I am following this tradition. We are actually arriving in Hawaii on Friday and the wedding isn't until Monday. We are each staying with our family the first few nights before getting our own room after the wedding. I definitely don't want him to see me until I'm walking down the isle that day. This does sound kind of difficult since I am planning a 5:45pm wedding!! We are going to check into our room the day before just so that it's taken care of and all of our stuff will be there when we return from the reception Anyone else doing this - I would like to know how you are scheduling your day as well... I really don't know how to NOT see him that day when we're at the same resort.. I guess just having our parents in contact for when we are leaving the room? That sounds kind of hard!
