I never used this. I ended up buying too many things for my hair and this just wouldn't work with everything else $30 (this includes shipping for United States)

Preventing tan lines before the wedding?
Stacy015 replied to wemkulaf's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
My dress was straight across the top (strapless) I just wore a bandeau (however you spell it) swimsuit top. No tan lines!! :-) -

What I would and wouldn't do again...
Stacy015 replied to gkashmira's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Would do again *Destination Wedding - it was perfect! and it makes your wedding seem to last longer *Use a wedding coordinator - Deanne with Precious Maui Weddings in Maui was great *Private Location - I really liked having our private area next to the beach instead of sharing the beach with the 2 other brides there and tourists *Have dinner at Dukes for the reception - it was perfect. I'm really glad we didn't spend thousands of dollars on a private reception. Duke's was very reasonably priced and everyone loved it and the food! *Skip wedding cake - thanks to comments on this forum I decided not to have a wedding cake. The dessert at the restaurant was amazing and everyone loved it! This was a much cheaper way to go as well! *Not go overboard on photography - I'm glad I didn't go overboard. Our photographer worked really hard and did a great job, and we didn't spend thousands! We bought the CD of negatives and can order however many pics we want at a good price! *Not go overboard with flowers - The background was so beautiful.. I'm glad I didn't buy lots of flowers! My bridesmaids carried single flowers, I had a small bouquet, and it was perfect. *Rehearsal "Dinner" - Husbands parents threw this. It was perfect. They catered in appetizers to their condo for the 40 people who traveled to Maui. Everyone got a chance to meet. *Rehearsal - Everyone standing was so nervous! I don't think anyone had been in a wedding before and few had even been to one! This really calmed everone's nerves. Would Have Done Differently *I would have moved up the reception dinner time- The kids were laying their heads down on the tables by the end.. I felt bad for them. *I would have tested sitting in my dress for dinner - It was not a comfortable dinner. I loved every second and was not dissapointed. But my dress was pretty tight while eating *Pulled my bangs back with my hair - It was windy and they kept blowing in my face during pictures! *Shipped my dress in advance - It was kind of a pain carrying it through the airports.. and I stressed out too much about getting it steamed on the day of my wedding. I could have had it all taken care of in advance.. *Try harder not to stress about mixing families - Nearly the whole week I stressed out too much about my mom's and dad's families mixing. They are seperated and speak to each other only when very necessary. Everything worked out fine (as I should have expected), and it was great being able to spend time with them both on vacation -
I can also probably drop the price on this... I'm just not sure how much shipping would be. $35 (this includes shipping to US)

I can probably drop the price on these - I'm just not sure how much it would cost to ship them... Maybe $15 each (this would include shipping) -- it would be less if you bought multiple.

Bridesmaids dresses
Stacy015 replied to TammyWright's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Here are my bridesmaids!! My grandma maid the younger girl's to match my 2 sisters dresses. They turned out great -
I just got back from Maui. I did not get married at the Westin, but I did go to the resort to look around. It is very pretty... I'm sure you would have a beautiful wedding. The location is great too if you're planning on staying at the resort all week. I loved Kaanapali Beach. You might want to check though - I'm pretty sure you can't take pictures on the beach there... Maybe that isn't important to you, but something to think about. I just got back from my wedding, & I know everyone's favorite pictures so far are our professional beach pictures (we got married next to the beach, but had photos on it afterwards)

I posted on your other thread - but now I have actually had my wedding... My husbands parents catered our rehearsal "dinner". We didn't have a full plated meal - it was more of appetizer type food (and dessert) which also came with lemonade & coffee. I believe it was around $38 per person. We brought our own pop and alcohol drinks. The caterers did everything in the condo room (it was big enough to host 40 people for the 'dinner'). I'm sure a full dinner would be quite a bit more - but I just wanted to post because everyone really liked the food, and the staff that came were really good. The company was Consuelo and our rehearsal was in Kahana (near Kaanapali... Lahaina.. Napili... Kapalua)

Deanne was great too - she's so friendly. She made everything seem calm and run smoothly the day of. I probably didn't NEED to have her there that day because she had everything set up - but it put me at ease. I don't regret having her there at all. Everything went GREAT!! I couldn't have asked for anything better My "regrets" are sooo minor! I can't complain!! For instance - I would have had my bangs pulled back with my hair! It was soo windy! Like I said - very minor, haha. And I would have walked farther from my sister so she couldn't step on my dress and break the bustle before dinner! haha -but that wasn't a big deal either

These are tiger lily hair flower from Enchanting Memories in Canada. They are kind of big.. hopefully you can tell from the pictures the approximate size. I didn't actually end up using any of these. They are all the same size. $20 each (this includes shipping in the United States, if you want more than one I can cut some off the price) 3 white 1 yellow

Hello Kimberly -- I just returned yesterday from my Hawaii wedding!!! I got married in Maui - it was wonderfull. *I was VERY happy with my wedding planner! I used Deanne with Precious Maui Weddings. You will see lots of other posts on this forum with other Maui brides that were happy with her. She has very reasonable prices and she doesn't charge a percentage fee like most planners do for add-ons to packages. She also has more small package options than most planners do -- I had 40 people travel to Maui for my wedding, but I didn't want so many extra add ons that weren't necessary... so her packages fit my needs well! *I had 40 people... My wedding planner took care of EVERYTHING for my ceremony. My ceremony came out to around $1600 (includes location/chairs) and my reception was a little under $2000. This only includes like 36 4x6 printed pictures -- we are buying the CD of pictures for $100 so we can print what we want at home... *As far as I could tell - you cannot set up chairs on the beach anymore. They just changed this near the end of 2009. You can set up chairs in the grass next to the beach. I did this and it was great. We had a private location (Merimans Kapalua) where there was a grassy area overlooking the ocean right next to the beach so we could have beach pictures afterwards. This was also nice having a private location because there were 2 other weddings going on at the beach next to my location...

I just returned from Maui yesterday! My wedding and reception were perfect!! I couldn't have asked for anything better And I definitely don't regret going to Maui to get married - it was great! Our family seemed to really enjoy the trip as well. I'm so excited for the rest of you to go as well - you're going to love it and have the most memorable day of your life

Has anyone had their dress steamed or pressed in Maui?? On the west side near Lahaina or Kaanapali?? I leave tonight and I still don't know what I'm doing I thought I would get a travel steamer, but just realized you don't steam silk.

I'm leaving tonight!! My wedding is on Monday!!!

I found her prices to be very reasonable and i did tons of research and contacted a lot of people. For my reception i book directly through Merriman's instead of paying and extra planning fee to Deanne. They have been more than back bending toward my budget and i also highly recommend them! Hey I'm getting married at Merriman's next week!! Can't wait!! I had Deanne set it up for me (same cost..) and I'm using chairs through Meriman's as well (instead of Deanne's vendor) And I fully agree -- Deanne has been great!

Alternative to bridesmaids bouquets...
Stacy015 replied to CaitMarae's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I have definitely seen other threads on this.. but I'm having my bridesmaids carry single flowers... I have seen threads recommend parasols and fans.. -
How can 2 weeks by a beach be too long?!?! I wish I could live at the beach I'm doing 2 weeks for my wedding too -- I'll be in Maui, but same idea..
-
Yeah... that is still driving me crazy. It's the only thing still bothering me!! The point of blowing that place up was the hope that it would reverse everything that happened. All that happened is she died and began her after life. So... it didn't work. Ahhhh
-
I still don't understand why Juliet said "It worked" when she died on the island.. It didn't work if the sideline story was after death... anyone??

Another Maui Bride Congrats!! The site is great - lots of creative girls on here! I'm getting married in Maui in less than 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
