Catalonia Riviera Maya
Kplanta replied to rodent's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Hey guys! I just got an email today from Elena offering me one of the dates I requested for our wedding in March. We wanted the 'renewal of vows' ceremony. Soooo, everyone who is waiting for a non-legal date just be aware she will give out dates now! I just let her know that our trip was booked already for March 20-27th, and that I was needing to send out invites so guests could try to get holidays booked:) Hope this helps! I am soo excited to have a date now!! woo hoo! Although, she has not said the phrase "your in the books" I am hoping that I'll be there as soon as she reads my reply! Kristen -

Does anyone know if there is a maximum number of people that can be accomadated in the PCB for the private reception I am just a little nervous that we could end up with 80-90 people and not enough space?! Kristen -

Im still here too:) We're going to be booking our trip soon, for March 20th-27th 2011... exciting! Guests will have until Sep. 15th to make their deposit. I hope that is good timing? A lot of people are asking about dates and what not, so I figure if we book it now, the price will probably be cheaper than if we wait to book later. I can't wait until August either! I hope its no trouble getting our wedding booked in that week! -

So I don't see why you can't check in at yucatan & be put in RM. Thanks Morgan! That makes me feel better:) Elena was the one who told me that the suites are only on the RM side. Kristen -

Hey L&C In Love, I noticed you are from Edmonton. I am in the final stages of trying to finalize a group quote from our travel agent, and I am now being told that Nolitours is the only tour operator in Canada that is offering the CAT, and that they are only offering the Yucatan side to Canada. I was wondering of you have booked your group, and on what side of the hotel? I am also wondering if we book on the Yucatan side, can we upgrade to the suites on the Rivieria side if we call the hotel directly? I am worried that the rooms on the Yucatan side might not be as nice, and that we will not be able to book a suite for ousleves! Have you run in to this issue? What do you guys think I should do? Just book on the Yucatan side? I would really like to have a suite for oursleves though, because it is our wedding and I would like the nicer room. Plus all the girls will be getting ready in the room on the day of the wedding, and it would be nice to have more space. Kristen -

Apparently the only difference is that the Superior and Suite type rooms are only offered on the Riviera Mayan side. So there we go...that's good to know! Kristen -

For those of you who hav already been to the resort...Can anyone tell me what is the exact difference between the Riviera Mayan part of the hotel and the Yucatan part? I know they share all ameneties and everything, so I am wondering what is the difference? Does one side have nicer rooms or is one side rated better? My TA has given me a group quote for the Yucatan side, but she said her vendor has not yet released the prices for the Riviera Mayan side. I am wondering if there will be a difference? Thanks! We are going to be in Playa next month so we want to visit the ones we are deciding between. I have attached the 2010 wedding package price list. I am not really sure how to attach things...so I hope this works! Kristen Riviera Maya wedding packages[1].ppt -

I have the 2010 wedding package price lists. But that is not really new anymore. And I dont have a price list for any "extras" that can be added to the package. So if I am wanting to have our wedding towards the end of March 2011, and I am only doing a symbolic ceremony...should I wait until August to start pestering Elena? Or should I start earlier? I am considering booking the CAT for my wedding, and I have a few quick questions for any brides who have already married there... 1. How many weddings will they allow in one day? It seems like just one to me, but I have not seen this written anywhere. 2. Do they have any other set up for the ceremony other than the white tent? I really enjoy the look of the simple four post set up with fabic wound around it...but I have only seen pics at the CAT with the white tent. 3. Also, the way I understand it from all of your posts is that no wedding dates will be confirmed until Aug, at which time only symbolic ceremony dates will be confirmed? Is this correct? I want to have a symbolic ceremony at the end of March 2011... Any help with these questions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!! Kristen -

Thanks for the info! The good thing is that Signiature has just merged with Sunwing, so I am hoping for cheaper prices at the Tucan soon... Which tour company in Buffalo did your Ontario guests use? How does that work? You just arrange everything over the phone? Or would the guests actually have to go to buffalo to make the reservations? Kristen -

Thanks! I appreciate the info! I tried following up again last night with my TA, and she said that the Signiature rep told her they are not even releasing their 2011 price list until July!! I can't believe that... I think I'd better start looking elsewhere...although I really don't want to -

Hey, I am in the same boat as you...really have my heart set on the Tucan, but am trying to find a good price. I originally wanted the price to be around 1300 per person, but It is looking like that might not be possible. Your price is decent I think. I have not been able to get a quote that low yet, for Feb/March 2011. The only reason I would keep fishing for a lower price at that time is that October is during Hurricane season I believe. Do you mind me asking who got you the lowest quote? Kristen Thanks! Kristen -
Hey there Kitchenwitch!! I am also wanting to go to the Iberostar, but probably in Feb or March of 2011. Your in T.O. right? I am in Kitchener and would probably fly out of TO. Do you mind me asking what kind of pricing you got for your guests? The only thing holding me back from booking this place is the high price tag I have been quoted for guests. I want to know how low of a price I could resonably expect to get. Thanks! Kristen

I have read mixed reviews about them. If you have any info that would be great! I hope all of you are enjoying you planning. It is a lot of work. Anyway, I look forward to sharing info. Thanks Trina Hey! I am also looking to book at the Iberostar Tucan...but the price I got from my TA has dissapointed me. Do you mind if I ask what your guests are paying for a week including airfair? My quote was over $2000 with taxes incl. I need something to compare to! Thanks for any help you can give me! -

Good Luck! Hey! I am currently trying to decide on a destination for our wedding in Feb 2011. I really had my heart set on the Tucan, until my TA gave me the quote for guests....$1842 +276 in taxes for 7 days. Do you mind me asking what your guests had to pay at the Tucan?
