  1. I ordered 250 business cards that just have LOVE written in sand with some water washing up on shore (i googled images "beach love")- I will probably have 200 extra if anyone would like to have them (i only paid for shipping thru vistaprint). my plan is to print on white cardstock, the names and addresses of our guests. then i will have a navy blue piece of cardstock between the address side and the picture side, showing as a border. then i will put them in laminating pouches and give them as luggage tags... i have the most horrible time uploading attachments, but if you would like me to email you a picture, i can- email me at [email protected].

LOL! haha yeah, i guess some call them koozies... i just didnt know what to call them! we are going to personally deliver the baskets to our guests for the most part. that will make it more personal and show them that we are excited that they are making the trip to watch us get married:)

I was upset when I thought that the resort was booked for my wedding. I was furious thinking that they would let me book my wedding when the resort was full. I would definitely ask them for clarification...

Actually, at first I was all about the "welcome baskets" that I was going to leave in everyones room at the resort. However, I decided that I would give the gifts to our guests a couple of weeks before the trip. That way, it will get them even more excited about the their trip to our wedding (and I would save myself from the headache of shipping or taking the gifts with us). In my gift baskets, I am probably going to order some mexican candy/ snacks online (Mexican food and Mexican recipes at MexGrocer.com or Mexican Candy Store : Candy Wholesale : Dulces Mexicanos : Papel Picado : Molcajete : Party Supplies : Mifiesta.com : Jigsaw Puzzle). I also thought about giving everyone luggage tags, a magazine about the Riviera Maya (my TA ordered them for me), maracas, huggies or whatever people call them- Ive heard a lot of people say that their guests used the huggies the whole time they were at the resort. Anyway, I also thought about some other reading material that my friend and I would put together, like fun facts about Mexico or something like that. I believe there is a whole thread dedicated to OOT bags if you have time to look for it:)

I have never seen them , but I read alot of people saying that they are beautiful, and you definately can't see them in the pictures. So either way, I don't think it would make a difference. My thought was that I would use them for both, Mexico, and our reception back home. that way I am not paying twice for flowers... for our reception centerpieces though i will do real flowers on half of the tables, and on the other half i am doing kind of a candle display with a vase and some sand... so at least the fake flowers wont be right under their noses:) i am definitely going to look for that flower forum. and thank you! i really appreciate your opinion=)

I appreciate any thoughts!
  10. I tried emailing Ana (hopefully I had the correct email in the first place??)- This is the message I got last night. FYI, or maybe I am the last to know? Dear Remiente Thank you for your e-mail notifying you that has been received, but due to recent changes to my mail: [email protected] will be canceled in the coming days due to the above, you are kindly requested to update our mailing address in your address book: [email protected] For your understanding, thanks.

I am starting to think that maybe the wedding ceremony is too early Any suggestions Are any of you getting married in the summer when the days are really long Since I am not having a cocktail hour I was thinking I should probably push back the ceremony time... maybe to about 5:30 or 6:00? at first, i had our ceremony scheduled for 4pm, but then i moved it to 5pm- i figured that the pictures of the ceremony will be sunny and show the blue water but then it would be close enough to when the sun would begin setting to take advantage of that time for more pictures. although, pictures are the most important aspect of this destination wedding (and marrying the love of my life, of course!).

Or for anyone that has already gotten married- who did you use? (this is such a hard decision as you cannot really do a trial ahead of time) Thanks a million i emailed pedro castillo at [email protected] to talk to them about scheduling hair appointments for me and my 3 bridesmaids- what makes me even more nervous than getting my hair styled for my wedding by a total stranger, is the fact that he said "there is plenty of time to find 4 stylists for your appointment". i have my appointments scheduled and i plan on bringing several pictures, but i have an aunt coming to the ceremony that could fix it if for some reason i hated it:) as for the make up- i decided that makeup application wasnt worth the cost of getting it done!

Does anyone have any information/advice? Thanks for your help! i am doing the same! since we are having a reception back at home after Mexico, i had my TA ask Ana if there was a way to arrange a welcome dinner at no additional cost. it just seems silly to me to pay for food and drinks at an all inclusive resort. but i have never been anywhere, so who am i to say?! Ill let you know if i hear back from Ana though!
  19. For those that are concerned with the privacy of the ceremony, my TA heard back from Ana about that issue, and Ana said replied that they are working on the privacy issue and they have signals of some sort to close that area and she would close the area off for every wedding.

We are trying to avoid wedding factories and would like a relatively secluded beach wedding location with a good wedding coordinator. We have visited Paradisus Riviera and Moon Palace, both which have seaweed and dark beaches. Has anyone had or seen weddings that you would recommend? Thank you in advance!! We chose Dreams Riviera Cancun- it opened in October 2009. I would check out their facebook page, there are tons of comments from previous guests- some even post their pictures. Happy Planning!
  21. Chris and Leah- July 9, 2010 We chose to have our reception where we live, so I hope it won't be tacky for us not to have one in Mexico also? I haven't gotten very much done as far as planning goes, but I did get the options for the bouquets emailed to me- There is also a slideshow for extra charge bouquets that i cant quite figure out how to post, it keeps saying upload failed or something. But I can email it if anyone is interested. BOUQUET_INC[1].pdf BOUQUET_GOLD[1].pdf

Anita We chose 4pm- I read on some website that the worst time to get married is from 10am to 230pm (because of the lighting and its the warmest part of the day). So I figured if we got married at 4 we would still have the sunlight and if we wanted to, we could do some sunset pictures with just the two of us on the beach afterwards. Are you doing a site visit prior to your wedding? The most difficult thing for me is not having any control over certain things- if the wedding were in my city, at least i could see the site and have more say in what we want and dont want for the wedding. Maybe thats just the control freak in me:)

Hi... My name is Leah and my fiance, Chris, and I will be getting married on July 9, 2010 at the Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort. We were originally going to get married in November 2010 but then I bargained with him and told him that if we can get married sooner, we can go away and get married:)
