  1. Alison15, that's exactly how I feel. I'm not spending money on crappy photos, better yet, money on crappy photos period!! LOL I'm not very picky but am selective on getting quality when it comes to certain things. Photos are one of those things. Have you tried Moments that matter photography? I've read awesome reviews on them and I've viewed their work on their website. They do amazing work and the price is right. They're the most reasonable thus far.
  2. Hi alison15, My personal opinion is that this is your BIG day! Not only is the hair, venue, etc... important, but the photos are too. Photos are extremely important. I too was skeptical about paying a bit too much for photos. But you know what, You're gonna look at these photos and wonder what could've been if you had gone with a good outside photographer. You could never go back and redo the day. This is the way I looked at it and it helped me make my decision to go with an outside photographer. If I went with the Deluxe photo package that MP has available which is $1890, I would only be saving about $500 because the photographer I'm thinking of hiring is charging $2300. Is it worth the extra $500-600 dollars? Absolutely!! I used the deluxe package as an example because It's the package I would have chosen. You do whatever works for you. Hope this helps
  3. Hi Ravywedding, I'm a Moon Palace bride as well. I'm getting married October 2011. I've signed a contract and put a deposit down. I've sent emails to the WC and have gotten responses the next day or 2 days later. From what I hear, they are very slow in returning emails. I haven't really experienced that yet. Maybe because I have a Wedding specialist involved. Apparently, as the date gets closer, they stay in contact with the bride to be. I hope so because I get easily annoyed when people don't respond in a timely manner.
  4. OMG LisaDSO!! I had wedding nightmares last night too. It happens to me often but only when i've been on the internet to research on weddings, right before bed. FYI, stay away from wedding planning 3-4 hrs before bed, to get a good nights sleep.
  5. Hi, my name is sheila and I'm getting married at MP on 10/8/2011. I'd love to be added to star fish borrow list. What do I have to do?
  6. Hi, I'm thinking of going with the mexican trio for cocktail hour. I've read reviews from others brides, different resorts who stated that the trio is amazing. Don't know how good they are at MP. Would love some input from past MP brides.
  7. I say GO for it!! I'm thinking of doing the same thing after we dance our first song. Then surprise the guest with a hot salsa number. Thing is i'm not great salsa. I just know the basics. I'm Thinking of taking lessons with the FI. FI is really not up to it but I told him it would be a lot of fun and a stress reliever after all the planning. Lucky for you guys, who already know how to dance.
  8. Hi Cwelch, I'm going with MP as well and my package includes the fireworks. I had my wedding specialist ask the WC at MP if I can have my fireworks towards the end of the reception as a grand finale and the WC at MP stated that the fireworks can not be moved from the ceremony area because that's where the set up is. I'm planning to have my reception right next to the ceremony area. She never gave a clear answer to my question so my guess is that it can be done. I didn't ask to move them, just do it in the evening. Any MP brides able to answer this question??
  9. Congratulations & welcome to the forum!!
  10. Great review & Congrats on becoming a Mrs.!! I will send you a FB friend request as well
  11. Waxing does hurt but the pain subsides as you become accustomed to it. I did the brazilian and haven't done a regular bikini wax since then. It's worth every penny. I find it's better for personal hygiene and saves you time from the usual femalescaping!! LOL Just do it, it's not terrible.
  12. Welcome to the forum!! "Happy Planning"
  13. Hello Bridget!! Congrats and Welcome to the forum!! Where in mexico are you looking? FYI; Dreams resorts, Moon Palace resort, Grand bahia and a few other that I didn't mention are kid-friendly. I booked with Moon Palace golf & Spa resort in Cancun. I've read great reviews on MP and my Wedding Specialist highly recommended it. Hope you'll find a resort that'll suit your needs. You'll find tons of information on this site as well as any answers to questions that you may have. "Happy Planning"!!
  14. Hi futuremrswalls, When it comes to weddings, people will always get offended. Regardless what you do, people just won't be content. I say, don't over obsess about it. It's your wedding and do as you please. You have plenty to worry about. I'm just saying....
  15. I've been shopping around for photographers and have to say that moments that matter may be my choice. I've checked their website and I'm amazed. Photos are very important to me. Therefore, I'm spending the extra few hundred to capture those special moments of my BIG day! I will be going with an outside photographer who can provide the type of service i'm looking for.
  16. Welcome and congrats!!
  17. I couldn't agree more. Use a TA, you'll already have plenty to worry about.
