  1. Is anyone using DJ Bob? If so, how much are you paying him? I was quoted a price through Iberostar yet doing research (googling) found he was much cheaper for others. Thanks!
  2. I am getting married on November 12, 2010 at the Maya. I am having a private dinner reception. I was told that this was not an option until this year (2010). That prior to this year the only private dinner reception was offered at DelMar.

We are inviting 115 but I think 1/2 will not come.

I hope this does not change as the wedding gets closer.

My wedding coodinator says he has an email stating that I can chose between four different menu's each with four selections as main course. I am so confused!
  6. Is anyone having a private dinner reception? If so, where are you having it? Also, I was given four menus to chose from or a beach buffet. Has anyone chose the dinner they will have?
  7. I am getting married at the Maya on November 12th. I am having a private reception. I am told I can have it at Cajun restuarant or ballroom depending upon occupancy at resort at the time. They would shut down the restuarant for us if occupancy is low. If not, we will use the ballroom.

  10. I still cannot decide between Paradisus and Iberostar Maya!!! Either way I am booking standard room in hopes of a free upgrade (i better get one since I am brining along 50 people!!). If not, I can always pay for upgrade when I get there.

We are trying to avoid wedding factories and would like a relatively secluded beach wedding location with a good wedding coordinator. We have visited Paradisus Riviera and Moon Palace, both which have seaweed and dark beaches. Has anyone had or seen weddings that you would recommend? Thank you in advance!! The Paradisus did have a dark beach? I was scared of that. I have been decided between Paradisus and Iberostar but my decision may have just been made! A nice blue clear beach is very important to me!
  12. The package I picked says it includes bride's hairstyle and make up application. I will probably ask for a test run before the actual wedding. I can always have one of my friends reapply/fix as needed.

I am hoping that information is wrong!

I have been reading reviews though and most people seem to agree the beach is a negative at the resort. So confusing!! Wow! The day after me! You can adjust your wedding after seeing mine and learning from our mistakes ha ha
  15. I have contacted both Iberostar and Paradisus asking about Jewish weddings. My fiance is Jewish and his family would really like to incorporate that into our ceremony. I have not heard back from either resort yet.
  16. Hi everyone. I am new here! Just started planning my wedding for November 12, 2010!!! I am still deciding between Iberostar and Paradisus. Has anyone been to Paradisus before? I am concerned as I am told the beach is not very nice. Is this true??
