Hi there, I have shot plenty of wedding at Grand Coral Beach club. In my opinion, one of the best beach location in Playa del Carmen (far away from big wedding factory resorts). The media problem is a biggie. It really is such a huge country and this area is so far from the major drug-related crime. And yet, it is difficult for people to grasp that. Here is a GREAT article written with a lot of wit and humor you can forward to your worrying family: "How Not to Get Beheaded in Mexico". I particularly enjoy the part: "Do not, under any circumstances, take a job with a major drug cartel. Just say no." Hope it helps!

Congrats and welcome! I've done many shoots at the Barcelo and they have had different policies concerning outside photographers. The most recent information I have is either a $500 fee or a minimum 2 nights stay for the photographer. Be sure to choose a photographer that will do you justice on that special day. I have a few of the weddings I've done on MY BLOG so you can get some inspiration and ideas!
