Hi! I am going in 3 weeks for a site visit! So far most of what I have heard about Ceiba is very positive!! I am a little worried that the room rates might be too expensive for my guests, but am going to talk to Diana to see if they can come down on their prices. We are expecting about 100 guests.

Good news! John and I just booked our flight to Cancun! I am just so ready to set a date! We are going down there at the end April!! I have some work to do before we go---need to get a final list together and set up some appointments. I think we are going to check out at least one bigger hotel. I think my fiance and I agree that what is most important to us is the size of the hotel---but there seem to be only a few resorts that will fit all of our guests (about 100) but not be too big. We are looking at Azul Beach, El Dorado Maroma, Ceiba Del Mar. I agree Blue Tulum looked PERFECT--- I was so bummed when I found out that it didn't have a beach! I think I just need to get my but down there so we can see everything for ourself. Relying on pictures and online reviews is pretty tough. We are hoping to go out there next month. i'll keep everyone poseted on how my scouting trip goes. Thanks again!

Hi J&E, I am curious how you narrowed it down to thsoe 4 resorts. I in the process of trying to select a hotel and it is so hard! We like the idea of a small hotel that we can take over (we expect about 100 guests) so we are looking into Ceiba Del Mar--- but I am wondering if maybe we should also consider the bigger resorts as well? Any advice would be helpful! I would love to hear your review once you get back from your site visit! you are so lucky that you will be there for 2 weeks! Tracy

The reviews on Trip Advisor for Ceiba Del Mar are very positive and the pics look amazing.

Hi 2011 Brides! I got engaged on Christmas and am a bit overwhelmed! We have finally decided on a location - Maya Riviera which was hard enough...but now I have to figure how where the wedding should be!! There are SO many hotel options!!! I definitely think I want a boutique hotel. Does anyone know anything about Ceiba Del Mar. Also, Azul Beach and Maroma look nice too... but the prices are a lot higher than the bigger resorts. Can any one give me advice on how to get the best hotel rates for guests? I know Travel Agents get great rates on big resorts- does this apply to the smaller ones as well? I am hoping to do a site visit next month, but want to narrow it down to a few hotels. Thanks so much for any advice you can give me!

Thank you everyone for all these greats posts! I just started researching hotels in Maya Riviera and Ceiba Del Mar is at the top of the list. I have only heard great things about this hotel and their planners. I am just hoping we can get reasonable room rates for our guests. I am also talking to destinationweddings.com to see if they can get good discounts on this hotel. I will keep you all posted. Thanks again!
