We are using Samuel for our wedding on October 30th at Secrets Maroma - I am so excited and he has been so helpful, responsive to emails and a pleasure to work with thus far. My fiance' and I were down in Riv Maya for a friend's wedding Memorial Day weekend and Samuel took the time to come meet us at the hotel we were staying to just meet us face to face and get to know each other. We chose the 8 hour long package he offers with the extra session and we are having him come to our welcome party the night before the wedding to take pics. I can't wait!!!

hi there - congrats!!! i am getting married at SMB on October 30th i noticed that is on the form - i think you only have to give that for the LEGAL wedding in Mexico - not if you are having a symbolic ceremony. I think you should leave that information out and research more concerning the legal marriage procedures in Mexico. There is a thread on this board specifically for SMB brides - and it is VERY helpful. Good Luck!!! happy planning!!!!

thanks!!! aww, you will miss my wedding and I will miss yours  Our wedding is at 6:00pm - we have to get married after the sunset's bc we are Jewish and having it on a Saturday night. We are telling everyone though to be there for 5:45pm and will start the processional at 6:10. Sunset is exactly 6:14pm so that gives us a nice setting too as we walk down the aisle

hey! when do you get in for your wedding - mine is 10/30 and will be at the resort until Tuesday the 2nd and then we're going to Zoetry for the rest of the week  I'm shipping my welcome bags, place cards, yammaka's and anything else i can think of in a couple weeks to give it enough time to get there just in case. I hope nothing happens to it..............should be ok but you never know - we shall see

i wouldn't worry - i believe Cecilia has some assistants now covering for her - i couldn't imagine she would leave anyone high and dry. try not to panic - someone will def get back to you before your wedding date - you are a priority now - not my wedding which is a month a half away

I'm doing the same thing i just emailed Cecilia last night to make my trial appointment when I arrive. I def won't be able to do what I want by myself but I think with a trial run, we should be able to get it. Â I can't believe yours is 2 weeks away too!!! you have to be so excited!!! Â

you could totally do a DJ with 20 people -ask Cecilia if you can only have the DJ and no MC - it's up to you - you could also use an i-pod docking station with a fun mix Â

we are getting married on October 30th and sunset is around 6:10pm that day - we are having a traditional Jewish ceremony so we have to wait to get married until after sunset on a Saturday night - sooooo - we are starting a little earlier with the pictures before hand with family and bridal party. We'll probably do a few more pics after the ceremony but we aren't counting on the sun at that point. Â We are calling the ceremony for 545pm so this gives all of our guests enough time to get there and the processional will begin around 6:05 and my fiance and I will be under the Chuppah right after sunset at 6:11 hope all the timing works out!

Check with your resort and see if you can ship your stuff ahead of time. We are shipping everything a month before just in case customs wants to check it out. My WC said as long as you don't ship shells, starfish or food, you are good to go.

Hi Bella - yes, the contact is pretty open and is a working document basically. I'm getting married in 2.5 months and were are probably going to be revising it until we get down there a few days before  I am having the ceremony at the Gazebo and our reception location is still TBD on our contract b/c it really depends on how many people we end up with. Don't stress out - you have to realize that this not at all like planning a stateside wedding and everything can be finalized within days.  let us know if you have any other questions, that's what we are here for!!!

Hi there The cocktail party is after dinner so I believe it will be $25 per person plus tax. There is also a separate fee for the bonfire set up as well as the lounge furniture we are going to have. I think the total for the whole thing for about 65 people is going to come to $2500

I don't think we are staying in one but I heard it's huge and it might be worth it for getting ready and pictures

i'm getting married on October 30th - and I can't believe it's almost here!!!!! Â i'm checking things off the list everyday - ordered the welcome cards today that will be included with the OOT bags - now just have to order the bags once we have a final head count. Â I'm going for my first dress fitting and hair trial on Saturday and can't wait!! I'm going to have my usual person in NYC do my hair and take step by step pics so we can show the salon at Secrets EXACTLY how to do it. I am also thinking of booking an appointment with the salon at the hotel when we arrive so I can get a test run done. Â I still need to go for my make-up trial and my fiance' and I are going back to the jeweler to look for wedding rings and we also need to compile our list of songs for the DJ, order yamaka's, and get the place cards and seating chart done. Â In the madness of it all - we are moving at the end of this month to a new apt and I am going to China for work for 2 weeks in September! Â All the stress is def keeping me on my toes and super busy

Def check out Dreams Riv Cancun - its a great resort for what you are looking for. You might to also want to look into Cieba del Mar which is a smaller resort and perhaps NOW Sapphire or NOW Jade. I went to a wedding at NOW Sapphire when it was being changed over from the Paradisus and it was a good experience. Good luck!

Hi everyone! We are getting married at Secrets Maroma Beach at the end of October and even though we LOVE the resort, we think we will want to get away after the festivities to another resort just the 2 of us. Our TA recommended Zoetry, the Royal, Royal Hideaway and the Banyan Tree Mayakoba. Â Can feedback abotu this resorts is appreciated!!! Â
