  1. Omg I'm so sorry to hear about that. Maybe they'll through in a massive discount or could they even provide you with another nice yacht from another company at the same price of course. I hope it turns out okay!
  2. Hey! Ana told me that the salon is very good and the brides always like there hair. I'm so torn though. I'm not sure if I should just do it with them or book with someone else....ugh meaning another day/vendor fee. From other threads I've read online a lot of the girls say to take a tonne of photos with you showing exactly what you want. I'm planning to get a trial done before I go down just to make sure my hair can actually do what I'm envisioning. I would totally love to hear from other brides or even photographers who have seen what the hotel salon can do.
  3. Hey! My TA was recently down there and she said the murals were only at one of the rooftop locations (the one with the 2 yellow mini covered areas). Apparently it's near the Teen Club area so I think it's part of it. The Lobby Terrace (see below) doesn't have any paintings so that might be a better option for you if you were thinking rooftop.
  4. Oh ladies I feel your pain. I'm on week 3 and I haven't worked out at all this week mostly because I'm fighting a sinus cold. The thought of jumping hurts my head...lol I'm starting to feel better and I'm hoping I can get back in the game tomorrow. Ugh...
  5. Hey starrysim! Sorry to hear about your bad Shoppers experience. There are a lot of bad publishing companies out there. I'm in Canada too, but whenever I've made a photo book I ALWAYS use http://www.mypublisher.com/ The company is based in New York so you may have to pay a bit of duty when it ships across the boarder, BUT the quality is amazing! I work in marketing so my standards on anything printed are very high and I truly think My Publisher is your best option. Good luck!
  6. Hey Kleenotes! We're doing something a little different where we're almost having an at home reception before the wedding, lol. It started out with my mom wanting us to have a regular bridal shower, but with me and most of my girl friends living on the other side of the country there wouldn't be that many people who could attend. Also my FI and I have mostly guy friends in Toronto. Anyway with all of that my mom decided we could do a boy/girl shower...which has now turned into a Pre-Wedding Celebration. Personally I wouldn't go through all this work and I don't like the of my guests feeling like they have to buy us a gift, however I can admit it's going to be nice to party with our guests who won't be coming to Mexico with us. What are you thinking of doing?
  7. I think the hotel is solely all inclusive so you should be safe saying that includes everything, but it never hurts to double check.
  8. Nice! I'm a little worried about my hair/make-up because I haven't seen examples of past weddings from the hotel. Lol can I bring your Barcelo people with me ;-)
  9. P.S. You can also have dinner in the Villa Marina restaurant. You won't get the entire restaurant to yourself, but they will have a section separated for you. Some brides do this and then move the party to Pool Patio.
  10. Hey Kleenotes! Welcome to the group! It's wedding season right now so I'm assuming Ana is super busy. Don't worry though she's amazing. I would suggest sending her a reminder email(?). Have you booked your actual wedding date or are you still looking around? I posted some answers below in purple that might help you out.
  11. Great pictures! I'm booked with Sascha too! Your make-up looks fabulous too...did you get that done at the hotel or by an outside vendor?
  12. You're totally right! I looked up the predicted sunset time for May 11, 2012 and they say 7:15 pm. I then took a look at the monthly averages (lol yes I'm a bit of nerd) and found this site: http://cancunmap.com/weather/cancun-sunset.html which says that in May there's approximately 13 hours of daylight with the average sunset starting at 6:50 pm. I'm thinking we'll be okay with our ceremony from 5 - 5:30 pm and cocktails from 5:30 - 6:30 pm. Our B&G and wedding party pictures will be taken before the ceremony. Thanks for the heads up!
  13. Yay! I'm hoping that means I'll find out mine soon!
  14. I haven't heard of this either. I'm also getting married on the lobby terrace, however from the resort pictures it looks like the beach wedding area is a permanent set up. The resort probably does something to ensure the preservation of the turtle eggs, but I don't think they would jeopardize an already booked wedding. Years ago when I was in Clearwater, Florida there were turtle eggs on the beach so the resort just put a fence around that area to prevent anyone from disturbing them. It was only a small area and most definetely not the entire beach.
  15. Sweet thanks for the info. You've given me a good idea and I think we'll do the same thing :-) Thanks!
  16. Beautiful wedding! Out of curiosity what time did you do your ceremony and cocktail hour? I loved that the sun was setting during cocktail hour, it's so pretty! I'm trying to figure out where the sun will be during our ceremony and cocktail hour. I'm wondering if I'll need more candle lighting, similar to your beautiful tikki tree (?) sorry I can't fully make it out in the picture, but it's glowing and so so pretty ;-) Congrats!
  17. I totally know what you mean. Today is my first day on week 2! My pushups totally suck so I do them on my kness, but I think they are getting better. Lol or at least I'm telling myself that ;-) Hang in there, I'm sure there are some changes happening. Women tend to be their worst critics. I don't know about you, but for me sometimes that time of the month puts a damper on my results. I'm not sure if you're following the meal plan, but altering your eating might help. Either way you're only 4 weeks in so there's plenty of time :-)
  18. Hey MissNikki! Check out this thread: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/33243/ocean-turquesa-coral-brides It has a ton of info from past and current brides...there are even photos of the terrace. Here's a basic mock wedding set up on the terrace.
  19. Ocean Coral and Turquesa in Puerto Morelos
  20. How happy am I for Cardio Recovery!!! I could barely walk this morning due to very sore leg muscles and I thought I Shuan T was going to kill me today, but to my surprise Cardio Recovery was exactly what I needed!
  21. Wow! You sound like you've thought of everything. Are you doing a Welcome Party or Rehearsal dinner? I'm also doing a symbolic wedding and haven't heard anything regarding the officiant. In our case we're going to provide the majority of the ceremony script including the vows. There are a tonne of threads with great scripts as well as many websites out there. If you're worried about what they'll say or won't say you might want to go this route. Good luck!
