  1. OMG two more weeks until we leave! Holy cow I feel like there's still a ton to do...I'm so excited I don't know where to begin!
  2. @Ims26, your pricing sounds right to me. We're doing our reception from 7pm - 12am and are paying for 2 hours extra. I haven't heard about the $40/waiter/hour. I think once you are past the 3 hour mark (i.e. what's included in the package) you won't really need an waiter because dinner has already been served. The extra cost $10/person/hour is mostly for the bar. Good luck with everything!
  3. Hi there, I have 8 brand new (still in original packaging) white paper lanterns for sale. Ideally I would like to sell them as a group for pick up in the lower mainland of Vancouver, BC area. Please let me know if you have any questions. 18" - 1 @ $6 ea 14" - 4 @ $4 ea 12" - 2 @ $3 ea 10" - 1 @ $2 ea Total: $30 CAD
  4. Hey! I think you can totally do November 2012 if you get a move on setting your wedding date and getting your save the dates out asap. The only problem you may run into is that some guests may not be able to save money in time for your wedding. Just remember though the people who really want to be at your wedding will find a way. AND you'll hear money excuses coming out the ying yang whether you gave your guests 1 year notice or 6 months. Good luck!
  5. Aww such a lovely wedding. Beautiful pictures and you look wonderful! Congrats!
  6. Beautiful planning thread! Did you have any problems with the chocolate melting? I'm getting married May 11 and I'd like to bring personalized hershy kisses, but I'm worried about them melting. Did you need to pack cold packs?
  7. Sorry I meant to say I don't want my hips and legs to get bigger (not better, haha)
  8. Thanks ladies for all the support, it totally helps to come on here and get motivated. FI thinks I'm crazy, but that's coming from Mr. Motabilism himself...he can eat anything and not gain a pound. I know I've gained muscle because I can feel and see the difference. It's a love hate thing right now. My legs and hips are my problem areas so strengthen them is key, but at the same time I don't want them to get better. I just need to get out of this funk and move on.
  9. @modizzle, Totally go for an outside photographer! You may have seen other brides posts about the resort photographer, but basically the guy is not a pro whatsoever. Just remember that bringing in an outside photographer means you'll have to pay the hotel a vendor fee....but it's sooooooooooooo worth it. Your memories and pictures are all you'll have after the wedding so you want to ensure they're beautiful! By doing a little research on BDW you'll find there are a lot of good photographers in Mexico that fit all budgets. I've chosen Sascha Gluck who's work I love and who's price fit my budget. http://cancunphotosblog.com/ Btw if you check out Sascha's blog you'll notice his last wedding was at OCT. I'm not sure if that bride is on this forum, but congratulations to her! You look beautiful! @leahbecker, I've been thinking about this too. There are a ton of other threads addressing tipping that you can use the search field for. With my research I've found that it is a very nice gester to tip the wedding coordinator. She works long hours, replies to your emails all year and sets everything up for your big day. I've heard people suggesting a couple hundred dollars ($200 - 300). Does anyone else have suggestions?
  10. Hi ladies, So I have to vent...I'm wondering if that's all I do on this thread....lol sorry, but thanks for listening. You may have read I'm on month 2 week 3. Yesterday I had my first set of wedding alterations and it didn't go as I thought. First of all my MOH who is my only in province bridesmaid had to bail on my appointment because she has an exam coming up. Understandable, but I did book this 1 month in advance and checked the date with her. Nonetheless I was by myself. When I went to put on my dress I noticed it was a little difficult for me to shimmy into. It's a sweetheart neck, rouching along the bodice, corset back and a dropped waist that falls right above my butt. So they strap me into this thing and all I can think of is "wow this is really tight on my hips and upper butt....like I'm afraid I can't sit down tight". The seamstress comes by confirms the bust and waist are good and gives me the option of letting the dress out at the hips/butt. OMG, worst nightmare ever! I'm thinking I've been working my butt of for the past two months eating well and my dress is too tight?! Holding back tears I give the seamstress the Spanish Inquisition regarding the "letting out" making sure it will still look good. She assures me there's enough fabric to do so and since it's a satin dress there won't be any markings where the original hem was. All in all it was a brutal experience AND to top it off I cut my hand on one of the pins and got a little blood on the bodice. They say it isn't a problem to get the stain out and it happens all the time. Ugh what a total let down. I seriously don't know what's gone wrong. My dress came in this August where I tried it on and I can't remember it being this tight on my butt, but then again I may have not paid attention, I can't remember. I was a total emotional wreak last night and my FI who's wonderful says it's probably because my body shape is changing and that to relax because I don't look bigger. Hard to believe when you're feeling down. This morning I got and measured myself and it's showing that my hips are the same, but my thigh and calf are bigger...I'm hoping that's because my muscles are sore and puffy...hopefully :-( As a side note I measured myself during the first week of Insanity and skipped every other time. Maybe I should be doing it more consistently. Bust 37.6" - 36.7" Waist 32.9" - 31.8 Hips 39" - 39" Right thigh 26" - 26.5" Right calf 16.1" - 16.6" My next appointment is in two weeks and I'm going into hard core mode. Like sugar isn't in my vocabulary, bread doesn't exist, dairy has been dumped and my weekend wine has disappeared. I'm hoping that all of this helps otherwise I'm going to feel like a beached whale in Mexico rather than a fit bride. Thanks for listening and happy sweating.
  11. Quick correction....I miss-read my calendar. I'm actually on week 2 of month 2...and because I "fell off the wagon" with my first attempt at week 1 and re-did it, I technically should be on week 3. Sorry for the confusion.
  12. I've actually asked Ana that same question about when the money is due. I have a feeling it's when you get to the resort, however I'm wanting to pay for some of it ahead of time just so the amount going on the cc isn't super high all at once. I haven't heard back from her in close to a month so I'm hoping with some more reminding she can let me know. When I hear back I'll let you ladies know.
  13. Hey ladies! So glad to read up on peoples modified regimes! I'm on week 3 of month 2. Technically I should be on week 4, however I kind of feel of the wagon with week one this month (I only did 3 workouts that week so when week 2 came I decided I should rewind and start week 1 over again). Maybe the recovery week killed my momentum, or I was just overwhelmed with the new workouts? I'm not sure, but all I know is that I can now do a REAL PUSH UP!!! Wohoo! I can't get my nose to the floor yet, but it's getting there and it's a huge accomplishment for me! I'm starting to be an Insanity believer now. I've noticed my workouts getting better, I've toned up although there's still a layer of jiggle that I'm hoping will go down lol, but either way I know my muscles are way more solid. Anyway I'll keep at it and push through it ;-) Happy sweating!
