  1. FI and I went ring shopping last weekend. Our wedding is in 3 weeks. Truthfully, we left it a little too late! Most of the jewelery stores told us that anything that needed to be ordered would take 6 weeks to come in. Luckily, we were able to find the rings that we wanted and in our sizes and bought them on the spot! Phew!

  3. Hey Ladies, I bought too many goodies for my OOT bags and am hoping to help out some fellow BDW'ers! 4. I ordered mine from Davids Bridal. I plan to change into it after the dinner at the resort and then again for later in the night of the AHR.
  5. I had the same thing! We invited everyone to both the DW and the AHR. Approx 60 invites went out (100 guests). Our wedding is one month today and we have 13 people booked. Wedding party makes up for 6 people. I bought enough OOT stuff to make up 20 bags figuring we'd have about 30 people come with us. Most people are only coming to the AHR. I'm okay with this, smaller party = less stress! My biggest concern is the seating for guests ~ 6 of us standing at the front, my parents on one side of the aisle and FI's family on the other. There will be 5 of them which will make our seating arrangement a little lopsided. I'm sure we'll figure something out when we get there!
  6. FI and I went ring shopping yesterday to get our bands. FYI, most jewellery stores require 6 weeks if they need to order a band. We leave for the DR in 4 weeks and in hindsight, probably should have gone band shopping sooner. We didn't really consider that they may need to be ordered. We got very lucky and found our rings in our sizes and were able to buy them on the spot. These are the bands we bought, mine is the matching one for the engagement ring. FI was torn between 3 different ones, one had engravings on it that made it look like a tire tread. LOL, I wasn't sold on the "tire", but we both love the carbon fibre one.
  7. My starfish favors were delivered yesterday. The are a bit smaller than I had imagined . The bottle opener is okay and is in a decent box, the bookmark however, hmmm... It's okay once you take it out of the box but the box is so small!! The tassle is tucked in behind the starfish so that you can't even see that it's there until you take it out of the box. I think I'm going to need some new packaging for them. The box is so small I think it would look silly on the place setting. Any ideas what I can use instead?
  8. "Do you know if you have escort cards and table numbers do you also need place cards at the table? Not sure what the proper etiquette is here. What do you guys think? " That would depend on whether or not you have assigned seating at the tables. If you just want your guests to go to Table 3 and sit whereever, then you don't need the place cards. But if you have a pattern, or want Aunt Jane to sit between Uncle John and Cousin Bob, then you should supply them. I haven't decided yet if I'm doing the placecards... I'm thinking of leaving it a little more casual and just letting people choose their own seat. What is everyone else doing?
  9. I'm trying to keep with the beach theme for my AHR favors. I am planning to put my favors alternated on the place settings with the idea that the bookmarks will go to the women and the bottle opener for the men. .
  10. Just ordered a blue one today. BouquetJewels will not accept a Canadian credit card or Paypal account, but I found a canadian site that was also selling it for $14.49 http://www.dreammakerwed.com/bouquet_jewels.html#Star_of_the_Sea I've been looking over these from other peoples bouquet pictures and just love them!!
  11. Hey Lori.. I love what you did with the raffia fans! Can you tell me where you got the starfish pins from? They would be perfect for some projects I have on the go. Thanks!
  12. Thanks ladies! The invitations were $6 each plus an extra $2 for the pocket in the back cover to hold the RSVP card and return envelope. I love seeing the little orange envelopes in my mailbox!!!
  13. @mchili5 - not sure what happened with my previous post, it got lost in cyberspace!! We were looking to add new members to our group, so my TA was in contact with Sunwing and noticed that the price had dropped significantly. Although we were originally told that we were not allowed adjustments, she worked her magic and was able to get all of us the new rate.

  15. Fi and I are paying for the wedding. When I started dress shopping, I had gone out to a few stores with FI's mom and by MOH (they live in a different city than my parents). We had seen a few that I liked, but the sample of one I was looking for was way too big, so I had to look around at some other stores to see if anyone carried it in a smaller size. It's hard to judge the overall look when the dress is 10 sizes too big and clamped here there and everywhere. So my mom and I went out to a couple stores in our city. She told me straight up that she was paying for my dress. I wasn't expecting her pay but I was very grateful she made the offer.
  16. Apparently I wrote this too soon... if anyone else is looking for the menu, it's listed on this site --> http://travel.webshots.com/album/575886478zUqMZE
