  1. Thank you so much ladies!!! Ocean - First, LOVE your screenname - Second, thank you a TON for that detailed info! It really gives me an idea. You're right. About 30 people are saying YES DEFINITELY wouldn't miss it for the world...so I am guessing we are going to go with 15 rooms. I hope your wedding is fantastic and can't wait to see pics! I LOVE Tulum!
  2. I did a search on this and I did find old threads but most of them were from planning brides. Not brides who have already had their wedding and dealt with this. My question is two part. 1. What was the average cost your guests incurred for their hotel stay? Was it All Inclusive? For how many days/nights? Did it include airfare? 2. How many guests SAID they would come, and how many actually showed up? An actual number. Like, you sent out 100 invites and 60 showed up, just as an example. Any help is appreciated! I'm debating on how I'm going to fill 15 rooms or if I can possibly fill 20 for a cheaper rate. I don't know why I'm so worried but I am. I guess I'm just wondering what past brides who have been there and done that dealt with and how they handled it. Thank you!!!
  3. Puerto Vallarta is as safe as ever, if not more so. Have them read news articles. It would be like saying I'm not coming to the USA to visit because Los Angeles has gangs. Mexico is a HUGE country. Puerto Vallarta is safe. They have a great police presence and because tourism is so much a part of their income, they take special care of tourists.
  4. Wow Mel! Well this is just great! I look forward to hopefully working with you in the future! Congratulations!
  5. Magalie! I am with everyone else. LOVED your make up, the dress was FANTASTIC and classic yet unique!! Your style truly came through in your wedding, It looked absolutely stunning!! You had a wonderful photographer. I cannot wait to read your review!!
  6. WOW WOW WOW!!! Just stunning!! One of the BEST planning threads I've EVER seen since joining this site! 1st. Congrats on getting your FH to agree to pink! 2nd. How awesome is he that he helped you along in the process? I can only HOPE that my FI helps that much! 3rd. I LOVE your style! You did so much DIY you have truly inspired me. Everything looks first class and I have NO DOUBT in my mind that your day is going to be AMAZING. We actually leave to go to Mexico on the 29th for a visit but I will be thinking of your thread the entire way there! SUCH great ideas!! Congrats and I cannot wait to see pictures upon your return!
  7. I should also add, we go to Mexico 1-2x a year and we can always only get away for 8day/7 night periods, everyyyyyyyytime we get ready to leave we are like UGH Why can't we just do the full two weeks right now?! LOL It's absolutely fantastic to stay for two weeks!
  8. I honestly don't think I could ever get bored in Mexico in two weeks, and I work in New York City! The city that NEVER sleeps! I love Mexico. There IS so much to do like you said and you guys will also want to just sit back and relax after entertaining everyone and the excitement of your wedding. I definitely don't think you went wrong booking 2 weeks. Everyone is different and has different opinions but for your weddingmoon? I think it's the perfect amount of time. I always say a vacation is what you make of it and some people are never satisfied! I say, don't listen to those folks and just enjoy what you already planned. I have a feeling it will be beyond =)
  9. AHHH!! I LOVE LOVE that background Magalie!! Love your dress (glad to see that all worked out!) and LOVEEEE the way that blue just pops on your now Husband!! I am so excited to see the rest!
  10. The only thing that worked about that was that Juliet died and began her sideways world.
  11. Since the very first episode, the pilot, I've never missed an episode, own the entire box set. Working in reality television, I found this show such a breath of fresh air! Scripted shows are becoming a thing of the past (Thanks GOD for Lost, Glee, 24 and Modern Family, all very well written). With that said, I find the ending EXTREMELY satisfying. The island was definitely "REAL" and Jack did not have a son. That was just a sort of "dream" they created to make it easier for them to "let go". I believe jack needed a son in order to understand his relationship with his own father and "let go". Just like everyone else's sideways story lines were needed for them to let go. I too cried throughout the entire end. It was the one time my partner didn't say "Oh goodness crying again" because I can literally cry over anything, heck I cried watching Glee the other day! I can't imagine what I'm going to be like when I'm pregnant. That lostpedia site is a greatttt place to begin to understand! What Jacks father says is VERY telling! And how significant is it that HE leads them to the light? "Christian" "Shephard".
  12. Oh sweetie I feel absolutely HORRIBLE for you!! The NERVE people have when it comes to someone's special day always astounds me. That is something I wouldn't say to even my worst enemy. Your wedding is just that, YOUR wedding. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if they understand. I would tell your siblings and parents, or rather ask them, to stop telling people your plans. ESPECIALLY about getting legally married beforehand. People who don't have DW don't necessarily understand that part. Your day is going to be special, enjoy the planning and try not to worry about them. I know that is way easier said than done but we are all here to listen if you need to vent some more. Sending many good wishes your way!
  13. Do you mean change resorts or change actual cities? Nuevo Vallarta is about 45 minutes out from PV and the Grand Velas is phenomenal honeymoon spot.
  14. Wow it all looks fabulous! I love the survival kit and the bags are ultra cute!
  15. Okay ladies! So who watched the finale? I am SO at peace iwth this finale. I am in utter sadness though that it is over. Namaste
