Hi vday, how was your wedding in February? I came across your post while researching the weather in Los Cabos as a result of a dilemma. You see, I may have to change my wedding date from May 28, 2011 to February or whatever fits my photographer's schedule and the Hilton's availability due to my brother's new baby being born the same week (May 28). I'd appreciate your thoughts on how the weather was in early February, like if it was warm enough to swim during the day, if it was windy at night, or if New Yorkers like us wouldn't mind the cooler weather in Mexico. -Thanks! Yes, she is a US photographer. True true, I intended to invite her and her phtg partner to the wedding meals. But I guess she raised it by $200 per day for all the other meal and beverage expenses? bnbrmy, if you don't mind me asking, who is your photographer? Is is Juan Carlos or one of the suggested Hilton vendors? I'm working with Tathiana, are you too? Don't mean to inundate you with questions, but thought maybe we can share notes :0)

Hellooo Lovely Brides, I'm almost done sealing the deal with Hilton Los Cabos - Yay!, and I just thought I'd post a new thread for the few non-AI brides out there to find some questions and answers to help figure things out. So far, I've been gleaning this site for user insight and it's been amazingly helpful, especially because I'm probably not going to do a site visit. Anyhoo, I do have my own agenda with this question 1. Do you cover your photographers meal expenses? The one I'm using thought Hilton was an AI, she added additional cost for travel and time expenses when she found out meals were not included. She seems fine and fair, i.e. not shady, but I was just wondering what the norm was. Please let me know and feel free to post your own questions and info. It's been really helpful to read others' research work so I would like to return the favor. I recently looked up weather temps and hotel peak seasons, I will post that up soon. Thanks! Yuri

Hi everyone, Thank so much, I've been reading and reading and I'm about to switch over from Hilton Los Cabos to Hilton Cancun. I suppose the rain is one worry I may have in Cancun versus the Los Cabos desert, haha. But, I do have some fussy family members and Hilton Cancun seems more likely to offer better weather year round (it's cold in Los Cabos in February). For anyone who knows 1. When is the driest season in Cancun? 2. When is the optimal weather? (I think I'm shooting for mid February) 3. Does anyone know if Hilton Cancun charges alot more for three day weekends? And everyone seems consistently impressed and supportive of Hilton which I think Mike and I like best too. Soooo, I think we're getting married at the Hilton! Woot Woot!!!

Hi there! Just thought I'd type out some of my musings for this site, I'm finding it wonderfully helpful, thank you everyone! So, in trying to make a destination decision, I'm considering Hilton or an AI resort like Melia Cabo Real or Riu Palace. Here are few pros and cons for each, but as a disclaimer I am viewing these resorts with more of my guests in mind. One of the last things I want it is for the wedding to be overly burdensome to them in terms of cost. Hilton: + Stunning place + Excellent service + Swimmable beach + about $180 per room and night, $230 for breakfast buffet, 2 people per night + Restaurant and hotel maybe less crowded than AI + Wedding Packages about 2,000 - 3,700. + Top Notch Vendors + Without all inclusive, more free to check out town and town food - Limited selection of pricey vendors - Pricey food and drinks - Does anyone know if they charge a day pass for outside guests? - More expensive for wedding party to cover food events there, i.e. rehearsal dinner and goodbye brunch. Melia Cabo Real: + Maybe all inclusive can help keep wedding party's cost down for food events? (Anyone know?) + Also on swimmable beach + Great rate for AI Resort, about $6-700 for 3 nights and 2 people. ($230 per night) + All inclusive drinks as well + Good Service - Hard beds - Prior need to make reservations at restaurants the day before because they get booked up. - May get crowded or noisy by pool or in restaurants + and - maybe it's more casual? + or - Modern Interior Design Riu Sante Fe + Possibly a nice balance between luxury and affordability + Riu Sante Fe has great rate, about $650-750 for three nights, 2 people. ($222 per night) + Accomodations can be more versatile in satisfying different types of guests because it's two hotels, Riu Palace is more luxurious and Sante Fe is more afforable. + Maybe it's less complicated with an all inclusive? - Not on swimmable beach - I think if you're at Sante Fe and wanting to get to the beach, there might not be direct access but you can through Riu Palace? (Not sure, but it's probably not hard anyway. I have to do more research for this one.) So, if any of you kind, knowledgable ladies have any suggestions or comments to add for the hotels' pros and cons list please write, thanks! (I collected many of these opinions from tripadvisor reviews.)

Hi there everyone So, I've been searching resorts online and through print for a straight week now and I'm feeling pretty exhausted....And also waiting to hear back from a potential outside wedding coordinator/TA and haven't heard back yet.... That and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for hotels nearby Dreams Los Cabos, for my guests needing budget options. This resort is my first choice but if I can't get better room rates, I don't think I can continue with it. Hiya! Despite my usual wall-flower ways, I'm glad to introduce myself to this forum as another destined bride. My name is Yuri Kim and the tentative date for my wedding is January or February 2011. I have yet to decide my wedding's destination, so far the runners up are Dreams Los Cabos, Mexico (hopefully Yesica will get back to me soon), Sandals Jamaica Ochos Rios/Royal Carribean, or Villa Amor in Sayulita, Mexico. I would like to say I've come as far as determining a date and location, after wandering through magazines and websites for weeks, but I've only come as far as narrowing my search.
