  1. That's cool that your husband has a salon but I agree, I would not want my husband to wax me either. I don't know your area so I don't have any recommendations for you other than to call around but it sounds like you have already done that. Hopefully, someone on here knows of a salon in your area. Otherwise, I would go back to where you went the first time for the strip wax. It will definitely be easier this time around and it will be more comfortable because you've already been there so its not as awkward as going to someone new.
  2. Ana, I am surprised to hear that Westjet was not a direct flight to Cabo for you. We are flying Westjet for our wedding in October and it is a direct flight. Both westjet and air canada have pretty good baggage restrictions. For me, the decision is generally based on the package price and whether its a direct flight or not.
  3. I think it is sort of random whether customs opens your item or not, just like how some cars get pulled over at the border and some don't. I bought stuff from a bride for $100 but customs opened it and wrote that the value of goods was $300 so I had to pay almost $50 in duty. I am fighting it using my paypal invoice to show the actual purchase price but it is a hassle. Indicating that its a gift or sending it to someone in the states are certainly good ideas though. I will still buy stuff but I will just ask the sellers to include a receipt to be safe.
  4. Hi Ladies, I just wanted to share my experience with buying things from US brides on this site to hopefully help other Canadian brides. All of the sellers that I have dealt with have been great!! However, I never thought to ask anyone to include a receipt in the package. I have now received a couple packages that I bought from brides in the US where customs has opened the package and completely over estimated the value of goods and charged me way too much duty. There are instruction on the back of the customs form about how you can go about trying to get a refund but its a huge hassle. I think a receipt would probably go a long way so that if customs opens your package, they know right away what you paid and will hopefully charge you the correct amount of duty. Anyways, this is just my experience but I hope it helps some other brides out there.
  5. I received my items yesterday. Thanks Timberley, I really appreciate it!
  6. Just sent you an email re. the luggage tags, packing lists and spanish books.
  7. This is so funny, my FI was the same was. I figured since I am the one picking everything else, I could at least let him put his name first. The bags look great.
  8. Whenever I think I have a good week, you ladies always put me to shame. Congratultations on the great losses!! I hope there is going to be a BL Season 9. I can't believe there is only 5 weeks left. I am definitely not going to meet my goal by then. Fortunately my wedding is still more than 8 months away. Unfortunately I will start dress shopping this month and was hoping to be down more before I started. Oh well, on the bright side, I'm down 4.5 lbs since we started.
  9. Eunice, I love your save the date video. My wedding is at the end of October so I am not too worried about a hurricane hitting. I reviewed the previous history for Los Cabos and it looks like the major concern for hurricanes is August and September. So I'm hoping it will be fine. I guess, we all just have to keep our fingers crossed that the weather will be good or that the resort has a good backup plan.

I use the underwire sports bra from Freya and I love it. I have depressingly large boobs but they don't move in that thing and its comfortable. Only downside is its expensive and you can only get it at the specialty bra shops. I used to have one I loved from Lululemon but my puppy ate it and they don't make thast style anymore.

You burn a ton of calories in hot yoga plus you sweat buckets so it will make him lose weight I think. I know how you feel, my roommate when I was at McGill was always trying to gain weight. He would have these weight gainer shakes all the time and eat crazy amounts of food and was still super skinny. It was so depressing.
  12. Manders, believe it or not, it does get easier after the first few classes. The first few classes are hell but you eventually adjust. Though sometimes it really does depend on how you feel that day. I actually had to walk out of a class once and nearly passed out. They tell you not to leave the room no matter what but it was either get out or pass out for me that day. No idea why, I had been going for weeks. Congrats on your first class!
  13. Natasha, that's fantastic. Congratulations!!
  14. I went to a wedding where the bride was a fairly well known Canadian actress. The wedding was at a beautiful venue and everything was lovely, except for the bride. She got so riddiculously drunk and loud at the reception. It was awful, her husband gave a really nice speech, she gave a very loud, drunken and inappropriate speech. I honestly can't believe no one tried to reigh her in. She continued that way all night. I was mortified and I barely know her (we were friends of the groom). Funny enough, when I was buying my bridal magazines, one of them was doing a feature on famous Canadian weddings and hers was in it. They made it sound like it was this wonderful dream wedding. Clearly the author did not attend the wedding. Whatever I do at my wedding, I will not be getting plastered.
  15. This thread is great. My colours are turquoise as the main colour and either just orange or orange and fushia as the accent colours. I love the look of the turquoise with the orange flowers. It really pops.
  16. Hello and welcome to the forum! It is always nice to see fellow Cabo brides on here. If you are looking for a TA, you might want to try Tammy. You can contact her or any of the other TAs on this site through the banner at the top right of the screen. Happy planning!
  17. It all looks fantastic, thanks for sharing. Congratulations!
  18. We insured my ring through cooperators which is the same company we have our home and car insurance through. The insurance is specific to my engagement ring rather than an add on to our home insurance.
  19. Manders, if you haven't done hot yoga before, it is hard the first time. However, it is great. When I used to do it, I definitely noticed a difference in my body. Unfortunately for me, I eventually stopped going because its an 1 1/2 class and takes me 1/2 an hour going there and another going home so I just didn't have the time to commit to it. But definitely makes a difference in your body and your flexibility. Just be prepared to sweat a lot!!!! Have fun.
