Just wanted to share our amazing wedding photography by del Sol. We had Matt Adock do our wedding and his wife, Sol Tamargo do our TTD. We are so glad to have chosen them, and so glad we did both sessions (the dress wasn't even trashed!). Full review of them in on their forum vendor page. Fantastic and fun photographers that are worth every dollar. Enjoy! You can view them at: http://delsolphotography.com/blog/content/galleries/?gal=348 http://delsolphotography.com/blog/content/galleries/?gal=346 Here are some favorites: We got a double rainbow before the ceremony: This is one of my favorites because it reminds me of how fun our big table was, sitting on the end watching all our family and friends enjoy the night.... And then the rain came...but it was worth it for this picture: TRASH THE DRESS

Congrats and welcome! This is the BEST resource you'll have for help with planning!

Congratulations - welcome to the best site and source of info you'll need!

Welcome to the site! You will love it - its been so helpful for so many of us. Â 2 suggestions for timing...1 is look up when the sun sets in your destination that time of year. I believe there have been sites posted on the forum or google it. From there you can figure out when you want your ceremony and pictures. 2 is to talk to your photographer. Ours was very helpful in thinking through the agenda for the the afternoon (getting ready pix, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, etc.) Since they are the experts its good to consult them.

That makes me feel better - gives me time to think about invitations. I don't think we're going go to to the passport route but we want something unique. Will have to scout ideas. Random question for you guys, and my apologies if this is somewhere else on the board and i haven't seen it...Did you guys get insurance for your whole wedding or your trip? Our TA offers decent insurance on the room and flight, which I think is a good idea since we'll be there at the cusp of hurricane season, but I've read in a few places now advice to insure your whole wedding given that its in another country and things like swine flu, governments, hurricanes etc. happen. Have you guys gotten insurance for any part of your wedding? From Where? do you think its worth it?

Kelie when did you send out your formal invites? Or have you yet? My thought is the procrastinators might wait until then (vs. STD) so we might send them out by mid March, if for no other reason than planning. My estimate is 50 - 60. Fiance is more pessemistic and thinks it will be 25! We aren't doing a block - TA said it was a hassle and not needed since the resort is big. I think we will monitor occupancy and figure out if we need to hold a block.

That's awesome Angie! Have any of you guys gotten a good hold on predicting the # of people coming? We've tried to take a guess, but I just don't know how many will come. And since it will effect the cost I'm trying to look into my crystal ball... I know they say 50% but I just don't see that many coming. We are still working through our travel agent to get everything in paper officially and I haven't heard from him either, which usually means he hasn't heard from Paradisus. He's usually pretty good about calling them if there is a response issue so if I hear anything I'll let you guys know.

SMB - Congrats! Enjoy easing into married life! Lauren - great find! We haven't registered yet but we're thinking Macy's, Target or Amazon. Amazon has a tool that that lets you click on things on other sites and add it to your wish list. We have a small condo for now, so also trying to figure out where to have everything sent. We have our website at 95%, still missing a few things but here it is: www.weddingwire.com/MikeandClaireOnTheBeach It was free and fairly easy to setup, although a little time consuming. We wanted the site to the be 1 stop shop for people who wanted information. We're trying to get STD's out by end of week (we're going to email). I am still trying to make it through the board...but its a welcome task!

Hi Paradisus Brides! We finally made our decision yesterday - we're going with PRC. Wedding is 10/23 with ceremony around 4ish. In the end it was a gut feeling - and I fell in love with all the pictures and reviews people had posted on here It feels great to finally have a place and a date - now the planning fun begins. I'll try to catch on the whole board this weekend. So happy to have a place to talk wedding planning. ~claire

So funny - FI and I are in the same debate b/t the same two resorts. I'm leaning toward Paradisus, although its more expensive for guests. It seems from the Dreams RC thread they're having some issues with pricing on the wedding. Everyone keeps telling me I'll feel better when we have a place and a date - which we will hopefully soon!

Hi Everyone. First of all, let me just say this website is a god send! I ran into it while frantically doing google searches on resorts a few weeks ago - now its my main resource for everything! Thanks for all the help so far and the help to come. FI and I got engaged in August 2009 and knew we wanted a destination wedding. We didn't get serious about planning until December. We want Oct/Nov 2010 in Riviera Maya Mexico. We are working with Beach Bum Vacations (Steve) and he seems very helpful. We are trying to decide between Dreams Riviera Cancun and Paradisus Riviera Cancun. DRC is a little cheaper for guests and seems to do more weddings, but PRC just looks more our style and its what my gut is saying. We need to weigh the trade offs...All I know is when we finally get the date and resort picked, I'll feel a lot better! Then the fun part can start
