Why on earth would they require someone from outside Mexico?? The resort photographers are not really that great, to be honest. I REALLY like Ivan Luckie, and think he would be amazing, but according to our resort we can't use him! Grrrrrr! Oh nooooo!!!! thats not good!! I've heard of a few hotels requiring you to book rooms/pay a fee but never that they must come from outside mexico?!

It was slightly different for us, I contacted the hotel and booked the wedding in advance of the trip as I REALLY wanted a confirmed date. So when we booked the hotel etc with carribean warehouse their wedding coordinator contacted us and said she could help with all the legal stuff/and contacting the WC on our behalf but I already had communication going so took her info but havent put any ?'s through her yet. Do you know who you spoke to there? We've been dealing with someone called Chris and he was really helpful x Lynsey - welcome, one of my friends has been to that hotel and lovedddd it.. shame its adults only cuz its beautiful!! x

Quote: Mexican Civil Marriage Advices Ladies and gentlemen, according to the laws of this country we are gathered here to join the bonds of Matrimony which is an honorable status: _____________ (groom) and _______________________ (bride) Seeing it is a very important act, I would kindly ask everybody to remain in silence. As witnesses of this important act, there are present here: 1. ____________________________ 2. _______________________ 3. ____________________________ 4. _______________________ Who will sign the marriage document. A great Mexian philosopher of the nineteenth century, Mr. Melchor Ocampo, wrote in his legendary letter, the following words that until today are always read in our wedding ceremonies, "marriage", it says is the only legal and moral way to found a family, to preserve mankind and avoid imperfections of the human being who are only able to obtain the perfection of the human race through matrimony in a conjugal duality. Men and women have the same rights, but it is important to observe their respective obligations. Both of you should have respect, fidelity, trust and assistance to one another and also tenderness and love, much love. Do not fight with one another, use your heads and your hearts to correct something wrong. Both of you should be aware of the great responsibility of being parents, because you should provide your children with attention, good example to follow during the rest of their lives. I now ask two questions to your witnesses. 1. Are ________________ (groom) and __________________ (bride) persons you know well? 2. And are there any objections for them to be joined in legal marriage in Mexico? __________________ (groom) do you accept ____________________ (bride) as your beloved and wedded wife, __________________ (bride) do you accept _____________ (groom) as your beloved and wedded husband? _________________ (groom) and __________________ (bride) after ratifying your wish to get legally married by means of your signature and your witnesses' signature and in the presence of your family and friends in the name of the law and the society and with the authority from the Solidaridad Municipal, here in Quintana Roo, Mexico, I now declare you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride. CONGRATULATIONS! Playa del Carmen, Solidaridad, Quintana Roo. The _____________ (day/month) of _________ (year) El C. Oficial 07 del Registro Civil. This is what i've seen elsewhere on the board is the legal/civil ceremony script... can anyone confirm if this is the script they used?

Its the legal script they have to say for mexican weddings according to this particular poster - I would assume from other bits i've read that you can add bits in, and hopefully take away that reading as I think it may offend some people attending the wedding!! I've posted on my hotels thread seeing if anyone has the script used there as perhaps different judges allow different scripts? x

I think we're flying with TC too - bit concerned people had issues already but its only the flight so hopefully no need to worry UNLESS that bloomin volcano is still going off!! I can't imagine what would happen not sure if wedding ins. would cover the loss of your wedding package if you cant travel because of "acts of god"?

We went to Hatton Gardens in London mine was a custom made ring as I hadnt seen anything that I liked with the right cut of diamond they also can be quite flexible on cost! Have you considered palladium rings?? our bands are both palladium and its a much cheaper metal really helped keep our budget as close as possible and let me have some bling! Nicyx - those prices seem pretty good to me! esp if you like their work x

At the mo we have 20 ppl coming and i think the day will be fine. Our wedding is on hold for 3pm then photos, cocktail hour and dinner in an al a carte at 6pm. I guess we'll finish up dinner at around 7.30 and move onto a bar. I think even if you have a small group you are at a hotel so there will be plenty of ppl around you and the atmosphere from the wedding will be great. You'll all be on a high from the day! Also - are u going to stay in your wedding dress? I cant imagine sitting at a bar in my wedding dress? lol x
