I tried on tonnes of dresses.....far too many, and none that I loved. This is why I tried the online way....I was running out of shops here to find something in! I knew what I wanted but couldn't seem to find that here in the shops! I'm anxiously waiting for my dress to arrive! ps- Margret, your dress is gorgeous! I'm so excited for you to receive it!!! Keep me posted! Oh and congrats on securing your date. I love that everything seemed to fall into place all at once.....I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do now! lol

I have to say I'm glad to know I'm not the only one out there feeling the same way.....although that doesn't sound right to feel glad about this kind of issue. It's a shame that people feel they need to act like that. I'm still in the early planning stage, but let people know right away that it would be a destination wedding....just to make sure those that want to come have plenty of time to save. My two "best" friends have not mentioned even wanting to be there.......yet girls I've just recently made friends with when I moved are all planning to come and keep gushing about what a great time it's going to be. On the flip side my FI best man's wife tells me almost every time we speak how people don't like destination weddings b/c it means having to use their holidays and the cost incurred. That's fine, I'm not forcing anyone to be there, and I understand that not everyone will be but there's no need to be so negative when I'm trying to be happy!

Margret, I ordered BC121, which one did you order I didn't make any changes, and just ordered a set size, rather than a custom size. I figure it'll need to be hemmed regardless.....I'd rather it came a little big, and do alterations closer to the date. I've got a whole team behind me thinking positive thoughts! We just got our wedding date secured today, so I feel like things are falling into place now.....and the dress will be beautiful!

I plan to wear flipflops.....I'm sure people really won't see my shoes, but I'm not bothered if they do! I've seen lots of posts on here of ladies wearing all sorts of shoes in many different colours! Do what you feel is right for you!

We did the same, opened the singles up to bringing a guest as occupancy at a resort is based on double, and single is really expensive. The problem is that you can't tell people they can't go on vacation.....but I would put my foot down at them coming to the wedding. Maybe they're assuming that b/c it's an all inclusive that you aren't having to pay for meals or drinks.....maybe make them aware that the wedding packages are seperate.

Margret! Oh thank goodness we're in the same boat together! i sent in my order on Mar 7, so our dresses should be arriving about a week apart! I can't wait to hear how yours is! I really struggled with ordering from them....I love the dress, but the negative comments delayed me ordering by about a week. My FI finally told me to just do it, and if the dress comes and I'm not happy I still have time to go shopping.....preferably not here in Halifax! lol Keep me posted! And I'm sure we're worried for nothing, and we're going to get a steal of a deal on gorgeous dresses! Anita

Hi Ladies! I just ordered a dress from inweddingdress.com.....it's a knockoff of the Melissa Sweet Sidney dress. I loved it do much, but cannot justify spending thousands for a dress! I have had freak outs about what the dress will look like when it arrives!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed and will let you know what happens when it arrives!!!

I don't have enough points to open the attachment, but I'm sure they look wonderful! Glad to know that i'm not the only one wanting to do thank you cards as well!

I think this is totally realistic.....my FI and I have set a $6000 budget including our stay at the resort....and I don't think we're going to have any problems staying within this budget. We aren't paying for anyone, it's just not possible. people have been given a year notice, and if they can't make it, oh well. This day is for us, not them! maybe try talking to a TA and let them know your budget, and they might be able to suggest resorts for you that would fit that budget! Good luck and happy planning!
