  1. apparently all you have to do is book the photographer a room for the night. my wedding coordinator said he has to be from the states...but ive already booked a photog in mexico that has done plenty of MP weddings. hope this helps
  2. ISSUE: I was asking my MP contact Claudia about whether my photog needed a day pass or a room for the night and she emails me this: Hello Ashley, Due to a very strict outside vendor policy, as long as he is from the states and travels to the resort as one of your guests it will be fine. But he is not from the states....he lives in Mexico, but I know he has done tons of MP weddings... Anyone else have this issue? Anyone think it will really be a problem as long as I book him a room? Worried cause I already love him and booked him

What I failed to mention last night was that I also choose this TA because MP was listed as one of their top 5 resorts they have exclusive deals with. Well, those deals never materialized and now when I review their website they don't even list MP as preferred wedding resort under CANCUN...with the other 20 or so resorts they list. This just worries me....I picked a TA based on their deal to MP and then they don't even deal with MP? I am just waiting on an email from Tammy and if the price is right I am going to call and cancel my deal with this other TA today. The TA won't be the one taking the fee from me....it would be the tour operator FunJet I believe. So I will have to do some work today. I HATE calling to tell people they suck! Wish me luck! Im pretty sure I know what TA you are talking about, and I have read about other brides having pretty big issues with them. I too vote BAIL!! At this point, you deserve to be stress free and it sounds like Tammy can deliver

The restaurant I wanted for my welcome dinner is not available because I have too many people and have read that other people had theirs there with MORE people. I do not qualify for the complimentary cocktail hours even though I have about 15 rooms booked. And have been told that since I am bringing down my bouquet they will order me the complementary flowers and I can assemble my own boutonneires with the flowers. Just what I want to do before my wedding. It sounds like I'm having a pity party, but I am just frustrated. I know it will all be fine and beautiful, but today I am just having a frustrated day! unbelievable! I hope things get worked out for you! I can only imagine how frustrated you are

If you don't mind my asking, what sort of package did you choose? Thank you! You are sure to get some beautiful pictures... Sascha is very reasonable! We are talking thousands less than other quotes I received...and his work is amazing. I will pm you with prices.

My wedding is still 10 months out, but I already know some things I want....I want to plan! ****I did just book Sascha Gluck for my photographer. I love his work and he is very reasonable. 9. I believe if you purchase a wedding packed, the colored fabric on the hupa is included!!
  10. Does anyone know how much it costs for the beach hupa set up? (Just the frame and white fabric....no flowers or colors) Stupid me...I thought it was free!

It doesn't/didn't seem fair to me because they quoted my group rate of $633 per room/per night for 2 ppl and i was like HECK NO I am no going to ask people to pay that much! You're crazy. Since then they have changed thier rates for me, after I called and complained. Thanks ladies for the info. I JUST signed my contract this week, and it does not say that they will not honor outside bookings. I even called a travel agent who asked me if I knew about the free cocktail hour after booking 10 rooms. I guess they have changed it.

I'm not having a cocktail hour (don't want to pay for 1 hour of drinking at an ALL-INCLUSIVE resort), we are having a private function (I've somehow convinced myself that cocktail hour is not ok, but paying for a dinner at an all-inclusive resort is acceptable??), and I'm thinking that we will go to one of the clubs/bars to continue the celebration. So...any advice on the timeline? I only see 2 options... 2:00- wedding 2:45- champagne toast 3:00- pics 3 hour gap doing who knows what 6:00-private function (dinner, cake, some dancing if I can convince FI to pay extra for music!) 8:00- move party to bar (after we take a brief detour to our room so I can change out of my dress) _OR_ 2:00- Wedding 2:45- champagne toast 3:00- pics 3:30 or 4:00 private function few hour break 8 or 9:00 meet at bar neither sound that great to me because I feel bad for the guests to have a big break. I read a review on some website one time (i think Tripadvisor) where a guest at the hotel said that he saw a wedding taking place and then after the wedding was over the guests just kind of wondered around with nothing to do afterwards and he said it looked unorganized and awkward. I just don't want that to happen! Anyone else with an afternoon wedding? Any suggestions? I've thought about this too as i thought my wedding was going to be at 1:00. I would go for option 1, and definitely do the private function at night. You could stretch out the picture taking as long as you can, then everyone could go to the beach bar and have cocktails til private function....?? Sorry I dont have any better ideas
  13. thank you for the help! I guess we will book our own travel directly through MP and give guests the option =) I sent Mp my online wedding request on Sunday....how long do did it take yall to hear back?? I just want something set in stone! Also, I am doing the free wedding package, so will my deposit just be the 300 for the civil fees? thank yall so much. im so glad i found this site
  14. Hi Moon Palace Brides! (newbie here). I just decided on Moon Palace for my October 2010 Wedding (after looking at 2000+ photos). Haven't booked anything yet, or even talked to anyone. Would you all recommend using an agent or booking directly through MP? I have emailed Sunmex agency just to see what they have to offer. An important question: When they say a 50% deposit is due 14 days after confirmation....what is the 50%? Is it half of your wedding package....half of your travel....half of everyones travel? Can guests book through a website like travelocity or do they have to book directly through the hotel? Thanks. Yea MP brides!
