We ordered the length a little long so we could have them cuffed (they're just folded up in the picture to see what it will look like) It looks like it has a hint of peach under certain indoor lights but outdoors it is a nice light tan/sand color. The color we ordered was beige linen. Oh, and the quality is fantastic! I will definitely be ordering another. We got his suit and a pair of pants for my step-son also. We'll be ordering the groomsman pants asap also. It took exactly 3 weeks for us to get them in. You are the best for posting pics and details. we are definitely ordering one now!

this is definitely possible! FI and my travel, (12 days at 2 resorts and flights) 3000 total cost of private reception w/decor/music (which is free if i book enough rooms) 1800 the outside photographer i hired for 3 hours: 900 we are staying at the moon palace i oct, when the prices are lower. basically with a destination wedding, you can make your wedding as expensive or inexpensive as you want. for example, we don't have to do a private reception (which includes full open private bar and buffet dinner w/ apps and desert). we can have a dinner on a private terrace in a restaurant for FREE! the free wedding package at moon palace also includes my bouquet, the wedding location, a minister/JOP and a lot of other perks. just do your research and you will soon see you can afford it if you pick the right resort. and we are NOT paying for the wedding party travel expenses.

Im getting married on the beach. I sent Maribel an email referring to this..and when she emailed me back, she said GAZEEBO too!!! I emailed her back and made her confirm again that I wanted beach. Don't stress though....I read a review that said she reserved a beach but fell in love with gazeebo at the resort. They were able to switch her, no problem. You are still months away, I'm sure it won't be an issue at all. They can't run out of beach! Just confirm and reconfirm =)

I really like the lemmon too...esp with a birdcage veil like janelley said. gorgeous! i think its normal to have second thoughts about your dress...especially if you buy it early. but its your only wedding so whatever makes you happy!! since we are all posting....here is my j crew, very beach dress:

that dress is really pretty woodsylou. do you have pics of the lemmon one? a mini vaca to mexico sounds great! its only an hour and a half for me to fly =) but soooo expensive right now. don't worry about the burn out ladies....the beauty of our destination weddings is that there is basically very little to plan =) janelley is right....the del sol sticky thread has a good 3 or 4 slideshows to look at..but an even better tool for pictures is GOOGLE. using google and some patience, i have found about 30 MP wedding albums of non BDW brides! awesome! I have also found 4 or 5 videos....and of course trip advisor is great for resort photos (2000+ traveller pics). looking at these always gets me excited!

I share the same sentiment with yall...it is once in a lifetime so the private reception is worth it...even if i don't get the free events. so......if you haven't already added brooke as a FB friend, do it!! she put tons of pics of the wedding up and they are wonderful. AND, imo the beach and the water look spectacular!!

scorpio---nope, haven't ordered anything yet. i feel like its too early. i at least want to wait until i have a really good idea about how many guests im having. kathryn...i feel like its going by toooo fast! we are about to book our honeymoon and we had decided on Aventura spa but now im thinking it might be too similar to MP. any thoughts? where are yall going?

Resorts to Avoid
asbarret replied to 2010 Bride!'s topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Palace resorts say "no vendors" but you easily get around this by booking a room for the night. That is what I did with my photographer. -
I hope the beach has improved! I've looked at thousands (literally) of pictures of the beach and ocean and although it isn't breath taking, I've seen many pictures that are really really pretty. Just depends on which part of the beach you are at. The nice thing is that they have that nice sand with a very large beach and they rake the seaweed everyday. If someone on TripAdvisor is out to complain, they take pictures of the ugliest parts and post them. We should ask FutureMrsMoulton when she gets back next week how it looks.

This site totally makes me feel like a slacker too. Other than the things I've listed...I don't really plan on doing much else other than pick the wedding party clothes. Stress free wedding =) I want to bring the bows/runners/petals because the cost will be significantly less than getting them from MP. I'm not doing much in the way of decor at the ceremony/reception, but I figured I could spring for a little color on the chairs and tables. My photographer is Sascha Gluck...just posted on your photog thread. I had to book him a night at MP but I think it is so worth it. His site: Destination Wedding Photographer for Cancun and Riviera Maya and the rest of the World here is a link to photos that the resort photog took of a BDW bride, tinam2b: Cancun Moon Palace Wedding Ceremony pictures from friends & fun photos on webshots

I hired Sascha Gluck...love his work, and the pictures are the most important to me. If you go to the review section...many MP brides have used the resort photographer. Many say that the best is David Pena and request him. Also, read MP 2008/2009 brides thread. It is VERY lengthy and there is plenty of photographer talk there

thats great...we get there on monday the 25th where did you get your dress? ive sent out my invitations (was going to do STD's then invites but i kinda thought it was redundant AND more expensive) i also got out travel agent and made our website. found our chair bows, table runners and rose petals online (havent ordered though) ive looked around for some OOT bag stuff...but its a little early for that. what have you done so far?? if it wasn't for this site i would have just shown up at MP in october completely clueless. ha

i know....the reception costs really jack up the price. but my travel agent said that she has fought and got all her other MP brides their free functions if they book enough rooms EVEN if they never had a contract with MP. here is hoping she does it again for me =) here is the buffet menu she sent me...i think most of it is the same but there are some new things on there like the french and thai... question:: i emailed my TA about this but wanted to see if yall knew...does it cost any different to stay in a basic room on sunrise vs nizuk vs grand?? where are yall staying and why? i have already been a little pushy....haha. i got my onsite assistant last month and my onsite coordinator this week =) i reserved arricefes terrace for the welcome dinner, the beach for the ceremony and tucan terrace for the reception. but i thought that was about all there was to reserve before i got there. my coordinator just sent me an updated dinner menu....different from the others ive seen. do yall need it? ill post if you do
