OMG how did I ever plan without finding this forum??
simplnsweet replied to fallfromgrace's topic in Newbies!!
welcome Grace! there are sooo many things that you may have not thought of and will learn about on this site. You can also purchase many things through new brides via this site. Make sure you read the STICKY NOTES for the forum rules. Once you have made 150 posts, you can download templates but that does not take long. Have fun! -
are you looking for one in your town or for your destination wedding? I am not American but up here for a local one you could contact the government who then can direct you to someone who can perform your service. If you plan to have it done at the resort then the resort would have a list of officiants.

Custom Linen Suits $99!
simplnsweet replied to FoxyBride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
my guy got his and his best man's linen suits on line and the service was top notch. They questioned the sizes they submitted (shoulders a bite big than the usual...this was a HUGE compliment for my guy as he works out hard). They phoned him to verify the numbers. The suites pants and shirts were perfect (they only got the two pieces). This is certainly the way to go although i think it cost close to 200 each. -
have you tried looking at Walmart? We got Bubba Kegs last year for our trip to Mexico(just a vacation) and LOVEDDD'em. My FI wants to get them for the guys coming to our wedding...back to the same place we went last year. The drinks stayed soo iced cold, plus we did not have to keep on getting the waiter to come back every 10 mins to give us another drink cuz they were quite big...think 16oz. My FI is thinking of getting them engraved as they each have a stainless steel panel around them. The bummer thing is that they do have Bubba Keg written along the strip. The kegs are cheap as you may know but the engraving may get us. All my other suggestions for a gifts for the guys was shot down so I have not just decided that he is going to have to take care if it. Good luck on your search.

How do you get yourself to workout?
simplnsweet replied to hat0112's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
i see working out as part of my routine for stress management and mental health. I have been working out for a good 10 years. If i plan to go to the gym after work as I do many days, I considered it an appt with myself...me time. If I need to go to an appt or meet a friend etc...I factor in that I will be at the gym at such and such and after I am available. There are many days when i drag my feet to the gym or ...sit in the car in the parking lot complentating if I should go cuz i am so tired etc..i usually then just go and tell myself...20 mins, jenn, on the elipitical and usually after that i am all good but there are times although rare that i end up going home...just too tired from lack of sleep. I also tell myself, IF LANCE ARMSTRONG CAN BEAT CANCER SO MANY TIMES AND WIN THE TOUR DE FRANCE 7 TIMES...TRAINING MOST DAYS OF THE YEAR... I CAN DEFINITELY DO 20 MINS OF CARDIO.... can you imagine fighting cancer and getting back on track and training...now who is the one that is tired and worn...? -
Karen, your day looked so perfect! Rebeca is our wedding planner and Lucie is our officiant. I hope I did not over look the answer to my quesitons I have for you but .. 1.what were you planning on having for table centre pieces before you moved to having floral arrangements provided by Dreams for an additional $100. Can I assume you had 4 tables? 2. Were the petals for the runner at the ceremony included in the $100 or was it extra??and how much? 3. Did you have a welcome party/dinner? or was the bonfire it? We are trying to think of having a welcome dinner or mingle but knowing that we can't make rezo and we have 5 young children we can't necessarily have a mingle at the Rendez vous lounge. We were thinking of the bonfire idea as our welcome party. What do you think? Thank you for taking the time to share your special day with us all.

OOT Bags for Teens & Children?
simplnsweet replied to selassie11's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
i have 5 kids all under the age of 7. I am planning to go to a joke store and see what i can find as 3 of the kids are boys. I found some glow sticks that i thought would be cool for the kids to wave around at night of the wedding reception to entertain themselves. I have asked the parents what types of things the kids are interested in so I could maybe buy something including that eg steve mcqueen....flip flops..etc..miley cyrus... I likely will have to ask them again in Oct. as by then their interest may have changed! we will see. -
Too the ladies who are thinking of placing a group order , I am thinking about going in on the order if you need more to get free shipping. I likey will need 15. Let me know.

Anacj I would think it would be easier to change the time rather than the date as you will be losing a full day rather than an hour. And if some of your guest arrive on the 11th they may not get much time to get settled before the big day the next day. Just my initial thoughts. Jenn

FS-Organza Sashes & Table Overlay in Turquoise
simplnsweet replied to NJ Hunnie's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
are the sashes still available? I am interested. -
Hi ladies...I really need some help here. We hope to have a welcome dinner at Dreams; we are 30 adults with 5 children. As you know, Dreams does not do rezos. Besides having a dinner off site or get the dinner catered by the resort, what do you suggest we do? We also want to do a mixer- meet and greet ahead of the dinner. We know that we likely won't be sitting all close together at dinner so we wanted to get together and just mingle before we make our way to dinner. We thought of the Rendez Vous lounge but again we have 5 children coming. Thoughts? Ideas? I'm all ears...bring it on! lol Jenn

Hi, We had the same quote for staying for 1 week in the Preferred Tower and we thought it was a fantastic deal for our guests. We stayed in the Pr. Tower last year and we ended paying way more than that but it was well worth it. We strongly advised our guests to book asap so they can secure the rate and in doing so, if there are 10 rooms booked (double occpcy), then all 20 people would get that rate. The 200 deposit was required for this. If one person did not pay their 200 then the group deal would not hold. A couple friends of ours just booked yesterday and I am not sure if they got a room in the regular tower or the PT but it cost them an addition 300 dollars more than the going rate, which in itself was probably more than the 1600 group quote. Our TA gave us this: We have some excellent group rates with WestJet Vacations. These rates are based on double occupancy. If you are a single you may want to check with Jason & Jenn about sharing with another single to avoid paying a single supplement. If you were to stay in a deluxe room for one week departing from Vancouver on Nov 14th the per person price inclusive of tax is currently: $1176.90. If you choose to stay in a Preferred Junior Suite with Ocean view and jacuzzi the total cost per person is $1592.22. I hope this helps. Jenn Quote: Originally Posted by m1984 Hi guys, I just emailed Dreams today to see if they would have an opening for my wedding at the Dreams Puerto Vallarta. We have a quote that expires in a week. In the mean time, I have given my guests a heads up that if all goes well, that we will need a $200 deposit to secure the rate. The package is from Calgary, Alberta from May 13-20, 2011 for a total of $1589 all inclusive. Is this price reasonable. I thought it was but our guests are complaining and I cannot tell if its because theyre used to last minute deals or if it really is higher. Should we wait, or secure the rate. I apologize if this is a repeat question (I know the wait vs book question is, but Im hoping to get comparison of quotes from any Calgary brides that went at that season). Thank you all so much for any feedback. I really appreciate it. After being so excited about finally (almost!) setting a place and time only to have people complain about the price is a real downer...

morning! these are exactly what I am looking for, can I take 40 off your hands? I have a paypal account [email protected]. I have only used it once so I may need my hand held through this process. -
Simistar and others who purchased the turquoise colors from the wholesale place, what color code did you order? I am lookin on line and see a pa-30 but there are other slightly looking turquoise solid scarves. I don't want to be disappointed if I chose the wrong shade....picture colors can be a bit disceiving. I just left a msg with the company as well. I appreciate your recommendation.
