  4. Congrats! I am also a Mayan May 2011 bride. Of all the beach vacations I have been on (5 or 6) Mayan was by far my favorite. I also really loved Playa Del Carmen. We chose The Royal after looking at 100s of the reviews of locations on here and trip advisor. Good Luck! I am sure whatever you choose will be great!
  5. Congrats and welcome to the forum. Looks like you have a lot of time to plan. Which is great because there is a ton of information on this site. Enjoy!

  10. You have come to the right place! I was lost as well, then I found this site and started to talk to a Travel Agent. From there my FI and I picked our top three countries/regions and started to narrow it down. I spent a lot of nights looking at resorts on Trip advisor and then searching reviews on here, then consulting my travel agent. At first I was overwhelmed... but then the travel agent reminded me I can't even book for May 2011 until May 2010. If your wedding isn't until August 2011, that means you have months to figure it out. Once I was okay with that i was able to calm down I am sure wherever you pick will be amazing! Good luck!
  11. Pictures are fantastic! I'm really starting to think I must have a TTD session, now to convince the FI.
  12. Everything looks amazing! You did a great job on all the details. True inspiration to all of us future brides. I really really love how you did the BM dresses!!!!!!! Everyone looks fantastic!
  13. I found some self laminating tags at the dollar store, 8 for a dollar. I printed labels and stuck them to some fun scrapbook paper. They came out great.
  14. Congrats and welcome to the forum! I went to a wedding at the Barcelo Maya about 6 years ago. Everyone had a great time! Excellent choice!
  15. Hi Everyone, I have been on the hunt for good price DIY invitation supplies, mostly card stock. I have been able to find a lot of US sites, but the shipping can really add up. Any suggestions on Canadian sites? Or stores in the Toronto area? Thanks!
  16. I've thrown a few baby showers in the last little while and we went to a restaurant for a big buffet brunch (nice place), and no one had any problem paying for their own meal ($20). That being said they were smaller showers, 8-15 people and no family. Everyone raved how great it was that they got a ton of choice in food and were happy I didn't get stuck cleaning up. Everyone thought it was a nice morning out. In fact it's now become a trend within my friends to have these type of showers. Maybe because we've all been bridesmaids a bunch of times (I'm at 7) and we understand how expensive it is. If your BMs can't afford the whole thing, maybe they could chip in $10 per guest? Maybe you chip in another $5 per guest and reduce the cost. Or get creative with the showers gifts... some theme (kitchen gadets, bing out the bathroom, etc) and ask guests to remain under the $30 mark since they are paying for high tea? PS I really really love High Tea, good choice!
