  1. @islandbride: yes there were about 15 other couples gettting married that day, so you just show up and basically wait your turn like in the doctor's office or something. You stand up there, say your "I do" stuff, then everyone claps and the next couple is up. We had around 7 of his family members that came as well @lisa203: Thanks for the siggy compliment!
  2. Good luck! We did the SAME thing 4 days ago on December 23!!!!! I was nervous, but when I arrived and saw how quick it goes, then the nerves quickly went away. We are spending the holidays in his hometown, so about 9 of his family members came down to the courthouse with us and then we all went to lunch. It was pretty uneventful, and I know it will feel real once our ceremony comes in March. Congrats again!!!
  3. Ok, so we just got married at the courthouse on December 23! It is pretty painless, we did it in Kansas City and you just go down and pay the $50 for the license and the $25 extra for the judge to marry you and Voila! you are legally hitched! It is basically like a cattle call, you sit in the audience and wait your turn. I wore a red dress, he wore a black suit and tie, and it was very nonchalant. It is funny because we were talking about it on Christmas with family and they asked how it feels to be married. We both do not feel any different, but I KNOW it will all sink in for me after March when I get to wear the white dress and have all of the pomp and circumstance of a "real" wedding :-) Hope that helps, let me know if you have any additional questions!
  4. Thanks for sharing Amy! I will definitely ask them about the sashes when I go down in March. I love the royal blue with the turquoise!
  5. AMAZING pictures Amy! You looked beautiful on your day :-) Thanks for sharing the photos. So...I wanted to share with you all that we did the legal ceremony on December 23, so I am "officially" Mrs. Davis! We decided to do it before Christmas because his grandfather is very sick so we wanted to make sure he would be able to be a part of the wedding somehow. this DOES NOT take away any excitement I have for our March wedding. The legal courthouse ceremony was a little uneventful, but I know when I hear the vows he has written it will be even more magical. Hope everyone is having a great holiday season. My hubby is so nice, I get to marry him TWICE 12.23.10/03.14.11
  6. Thanks for sharing Kitty! That video is AWESOME! We are having a separate photographer, but we do get the 15 min video included in our package. Did you correspond directly with Photosouvenir, or through the wedding coordinator at Excellence to set all of that up?
  7. We are doing this IN 2 WEEKS!! (shhh) so we would have technically been married for almost 3 months at the wedding in DR. Anyhoo, we are exchanging rings and saying the "standard" vows at the courthouse. This may be a little corny, but we will wear the rings until new year's eve, and as 2011 comes in, the rings come off until our ceremony in March! We also plan to write our vows for the DW to make it a little more special. I also plan to engrave his ring with a special message with our "legal" date as well as the ceremony date. Hope that helps!
  8. Ohhh ok! Well shoot I guess I will not book a "group event" then. I was thinking of doing something the morning of the wedding since the wedding is not until 5pm. Thanks
  9. NICE!! Thanks, I am using this site for sure for my lanyards. I already got my badge holders from another BDW bride!
  10. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! You ladies are all awesome. I think some of it is pre wedding jitters, and I just want everything to be PERFECT!!! atrott: cannot wait for your review and pics. Anybody else want to chime in on the spa details? Today marks 90 days for me YEEEEEE
  11. I know I am probably over reacting, but I occasionally check Trip Advisor and I have been noticing bad reviews of Excellence lately! My wedding is in 3 months, and it WILL be there regardless, but I want to be sure my guests have a good time as well! Is there anything I should know/warn guests about so there are no surprises? On another note, I want to have a ladies spa day and about 6 of my guests have replied saying they were interested in services. Have any of you booked a group spa session? If so, how did it go? I have done group spa sessions before, but it was in the US everytime... Thanks :-)
  12. Hello all, I am on the search for meds to put in my OOT bags. I found Tylenol at Walgreens in the travel bins, but I cannot seem to find any stomach meds in convenient travel packs! Where did you ladies get yours, online? I am especially looking for Immodium, Tums and Pepto Thanks!
  13. Just sent a PM for some of the placecard holders
  14. Still for sale, I will take a reasonable offer!!
  15. Hello ladies, I saw another bride recently make a similar post, so I thought I would give it a try too I just need 25, preferably with lanyards, but I will also take them without. Please send me a PM or post a reply if you have any. Thanks!
  16. Please let me know where you got the badge holders and pill pouches!
  17. We received his black linen suit a couple of weeks ago and it looks great! He will have to get minor alterations, because we ordered standard sizes. I suppose this could have been avoided by ordering one where we put in custom measurements. He did say they run a little smaller in the crotch area than his other dress pants. Overall we are satisfied!
  18. I am not nervous just anxious as hell!!! COME ON MARCH!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh
  19. Sounds like you have everything down Stephany!! :-) I keep reading the Trip Advisor reviews, which can be a good AND bad thing, and people are saying that some buildings have better rooms than others. Since I am at the 4 month mark (hooray) Isyuney is starting to talk to me about details. SO, what buildings should I go for/ stay away from? Thanks!
  20. Hey ladies another question. Make up application is included in the wedding package I am getting. How good are they with make up application? I am bringing my own MAC make up down with me, but I wanted to do lashes as well and I just want to make sure that the makeup looks ok. What were your experiences? Thanks
  21. Thanks!! There is a lady on Etsy that makes the clay bouquets and I am thinking about having her make some corsages instead. The resort ones are at least $25 a pop and I figure this way they can keep them forever!
  22. I am trying to save money and I want to know if having the BMs wear corsages instead of bouquets would be super tacky. Is it a little too high school prom and less wedding? Honest opinion :-)
