I have one month to go HOORRRAYYYY!So now I want to be sure all Ts are crossed and Is are dotted. A couple of questions for former brides: 1. What was the ceremony script like? I am going with the person that they provide and I am assuming it is pretty basic 2. How secure is the in room safe? I am thinking about where to store our rings and other jewelry while we are out at the pool and before the ceremony. 3. Is there a steamer that we can use? I know they steam my dress as a part of the services, but what about something for the bridesmaids to use on theirs... Thanks! I am sure I will have more questions in weeks to come :-)

We too had about 50 people that were gung ho about coming when we initially sent out the deposit email a little over a year ago. We even had 5 guests who paid their deposits but ended up canceling 3 months ago!!!!! So now we are down to 18 people, including the groom and I and I am fine with it! At first I took it as a personal assault but then I realized the most important people will be there regardless and it will be fabulous! We have a little over a month to go and all but 2 of the 16 people have flights booked. I am not concerned, because there is no refunds at this point so they will be there if they have to pay an arm and a leg for airfare, o well! So anyhoo, don't worry, your wedding will be everything you ever dreamed...and more :-)

I did the Spafinder gift card for the shower I had a few weeks ago. It is a cool concept, basically you purchase the amount you want on it and they go online and find a spa near them that will accept it! I figure everyone loves to be pampered :-) Thanks for the ideas ladies!

We are thinking of doing this excursion on one of the days. Open to any suggestions, we would like to get off of the resort and see Dominican life for at least ONE day!

I have two bridal showers, and one is coming up next weekend on Jan 15! The other is mid February I know it is proper etiquette to give the hostess(es) a small token of appreciation, but I have NO clue what to get. I am not really feeling the whole Bath and Body Works thing... Ideas? Thanks!

Yes it is finally starting to feel real now, yikes! We are sending our pre wedding newsletter and luggage tags this weekend. We have 18 guests plus us all booked and ready to go!

I love the brochure!! Where did you get the resort layout map? I want to include one in the OOT bags for sure. I usually hear back from Isyuney within 24 hours so that is strange you haven't heard :-(

OMG Sonya I thought it was just me! It seems like there are a MILLION little things to do like OOT bags and stuff and I do not want to forget anything. How long are you guys staying down there again? We go home on Saturday the 19th, so lets try to plan something, maybe meet for lunch at Hard Rock after both of our weddings

Ok Vettie, I think we are following eachother I want to lose 10 pounds by March 14 and tone up and i KNOW it is doable. No shame, I am 5'9 and 163 right now... I actually started WW yesterday and I felt kind of out of place there, matter of fact I got a lot of nasty "why are you here?" kind of looks, so I did NOT feel very welcomed by the other members. I plan to only do it for one month, along with alternating days of P90x and gym time. MY PROBLEM IS SUGAR!!! I crave sweets big time. Also, it is SO hard to get motivated to get up and go to the gym in the evenings after a long day at work! I am a maniac in the gym on weekends, but I have to do better during the week somehow. ok, I should probably go now right? LOL Any tips for my 2 month journey?

OMG Vettie! Our stories are WAY too similar, its almost scary!!! I too was a 3L when I met him, I was in law school at home in Los Angeles and he was in KC. He flew out to LA to meet me, etc etc. I moved to Austin because we came here and fell in love with the cost of living! I would have LOVED to stay in LA forever, but him being from a smaller city, he thought it was too much. In the meantime we got to see eachother about every 2 weeks since I moved to Austin two years ago, so its better than when I was in LA! Anyhoo, as you see we are 'legally" married now as of Dec 23, and he is actually planning to move here to Austin after the wedding in March. Unfortunately, this will mean that he will be unemployed :-( It will be tough with one income, but HELL! We survived 4 years on an LDR so we can survive anything, right?

She sent me a reply with attachments and asked for my food, flowers, and cake selections. I am SUPER type A so I just wanted to let her know ahead of time so I can sleep better at night knowing its taken care of :-) I also was in correspondence with the spa and set up the "spa retreat" for the day before the wedding. We have about 12 people getting services and we wanted to do them all at the same time. Fmichelle, are you working with a TA at all? Also, I thought I read earlier in this thread (or the old one) that you can ask for an upgrade and sometimes they will give it to you free! I sure am gonna try!!! LOL Overall, the resort seems VERY accommodating for whatever requests you may have!

@fmichelle: I noticed that too! My TA and I have been in contact with Isyuney for about a year and we double checked and they are willing to honor the 7 night thing in a garden view room. Have you set everything up yet? Get it in writing!!! What is your ladies' experience with the cake? We just specified our choice with Isyuney the other day and we got one layer of lemon, one almond, one vanilla. I was a little confused, but it sounded to me like she was saying the FILLING is the flavor and NOT the cake itself. Anyone who has been there/done that want to chime in on this one with cake suggestions?

OH NOOO!! We at least had a "kiss the bride" part!!!! Ours was only $75 in the states...

@debmach: WE ARE WEDDING TWINS!!! Congrats :-) Basically the only people that will know is his family, and they are not coming to the DR in March (with the exception of his mom) so it will still be a surprise for everyone. MY parents don't even know! No regrets though, its been a cool few days being married and I am still ultra excited for March!

Cool! I too have A LOT of hair and it is naturally curly (I know it is straight in my pic) so I was hoping that it would turn out well! Did they wash AND style? Or did you come with your hair already washed? If they do not wash it, then I will need to flat iron it to take out some of the volume...
