  1. O wow, they wait for you too!! That may be worth it for a nite on the town, because I don't know if I will be able to hang until 4am! I definitely want to have a "ladies nite" though
  2. bahia: OMG I get the SAME reaction! My parents are the ones saying "save your money" (maybe partially because they do not want to foot the bill) and then friends are like "Splurge!" I agree you only hang up one or two and the rest stay put away, I think our free 24 photos might have to do it for us on the professional end...
  3. Hitch: I recommend a TA, mine is fabulous as well and got us a great group rate, I just sent you a PM too Dolce: I WANNA GO TO THE CLUBS!!! What a fun nite for me and the BMs, or the fellas I assume too Are they easy to get to? Thanks for the info on the shopping, and I will let her know you said hi! Hope she is still there in a year.
  4. What is in walking distance from the hotel? I am interested to know if there are shops in the area or is it even safe to venture out of the hotel grounds!? In particular I am looking for an open air market where we could find souvenirs, fresh fruit, flowers, and such
  5. Good idea on waiting about the OOT stuff! I want to spend more on pictures but we just don't have it right now. If we come into some unexpected loot, that will be a different story
  6. We have a really nice digital camera that takes good pics. We get 24 photos in our package for free, but were thinking about doing the rest DIY with some help from friends and family. Including our TTD session! I know this is a once in a lifetime event, but we really do not have the funds for an extra $1000 or so for additional professional ones. Anyone done DIY photos? If so please post!!!
  7. Ok so I need to clarify my previous post. I am not having an issue with the 5 people over, its what if some person comes along in October of this year saying they want to come, can I turn them away? We are on target with the budget right now, but honestly could not afford any more people coming...
  8. Ok I planned to do the same thing!!! Great to know I do not have to pay extra for speakers and all of that. Yay, how exciting
  9. Everything looks SO great! I am starting to stress about the budget now since we received an overwhelming response from guests (we didn't think we would get more than 20) so I need to start cutting corners and have more DIY stuff! Bridesmaid bouquets are a must DIY
  10. Hey ladies! I too am on a budget and I am already feeling a little discouraged and I am more than a year away. My dilemma is this: My first deposit was due January 23 and we got a great response from that (moreso than expected). Thing is, our wedding package allows for 20 people to eat at the reception dinner and we are already at 25 paid first deposits! Each additional person is $45, So far that is only $225 and we can eat that (yikes) but I am scared that people will try to come last minute, especially since we have so much time left! I am sure you see where I am going with this. How will I "gracefully" turn people away I do not want to be tacky, but I am getting stressed out about this BIG time. We REALLY do not have money in the budget to pay for anyone else. How do I handle this?!!!! Thanks ladies
  11. I too am thinking abou this option for my BMs. My resort (Excellence) is charging $40 per BM bouquet and that is not in the budget! Question: do BMs HAVE to have flowers? Wondering if anyone has ever been to a wedding where the BMs did not have flowers at all! I will check out Shavons, but not trying to pay a lot...
  12. magnetstreet.com has some good STDates and invitations. They are reasonable and fast shipping! We got the "florida" themed magnets and they came out nice!
  13. Hey there ladies! I am in Austin and I was wondering if there are any fellow DR brides that want to do an item share! I am specifically talking about chair sashes, centerpiece items, leftover items, etc. Of course this invitation is open to any DR brides, no matter what location, but I figured I should start with Texas ladies to cut down on shipping expenses both ways! Also, post your colors so when people are looking for stuff, we can know whats out there! Ill start: my colors are Tiffany blue (or close) and silver Happy hunting ladies!!!!
  14. Sandra I'm jealous! We still can't go to Cuba from the US, but I really wanted to!!!!
  15. I put it on our website last night. I was also thinking about adding a "non-registry" card inside of the invitations when they are mailed. I know a lot of people put registry cards in, so I can put in a little insert that talks about our honeymoon registry and not to bring gifts!
  16. Dolce, you were fine dancing and stuff without a DJ right? We want to burn our own CDs and avoid the DJ if possible
  17. I guess those packages of Girl Scout cookies in the freezer need to go too then huh But it only happens once a year!! Darn those little girls LOL
  18. I will ask my Fi about it and see how he feels, I think u sold me! He probably wont have a clue what I am talking about so I will show him your photos Dolce
  19. Yea I live in Austin, and I am a vegetarian, sometimes I tell people that here in Texas and they look at me like I just committed a crime!!! LOL They love their meat here I am from SoCal originally so its the norm there! The benefit of living in Austin is Whole Foods are EVERYWHERE since they started here and corporate is here. They are expensive, but I can find my specialty foods there.
  20. We thought about that too shae, BUT then you don't get the true honeymoon experience!!! ok ok minds out of the gutter girls, I meant that it will not really be a honeymoon because you are not married yet, as opposed to marrying FIRST and then celebrating and having a week long after party of sorts. Make sense?
  21. I wanna try it too!!! I admit I LOVE BREAD that is my weakness, anything doughy and yummy is a downfall for me. I get sugar cravings too, but usually only around "that time" I want to lose 10-15 lbs max so i think the eating clean will give me the results I am looking for. My wedding isn't until March of next year but the downside is, I have another holiday season to survive before I get there YIKES!!!!!! Thanks for the info, I will look into the book, I like trying new recipes!
  22. I am debating on starting the program, I have a year until my wedding but I want to be pretty cut when it gets here I am already a runner, but I want more visible muscle tone. Does the program require you to have your own weights or other equipment?
  23. Thanks!! This was the one I was thinking about doing. I asked my TA if she could find us a group rate as well. Anyone been recently? I notice the last review was from 2009, not that i don't appreciate it KPEG
  24. I would like to see pics as well! If nothing else, maybe I will plan the honeymoon there
