  1. OMG I am so glad other people are attached to their name too!! I told my FI that I want to hyphenate and he got a little offended of sorts! I too like my initials and have a strong attachment to my last name and I am a daddys girl so I can't see letting the last name totally disappear! I finally did somewhat talk him into it by saying it would be a pain to have to change my bar licenses and all of that and all of my letterhead etc, etc, etc. So he said "ok you can hyphenate" So at least I will have the option of what name I want to use
  2. Ok so I have been a Grey's junkie since day 1 and am a little upset Izzie is not returning for sure! It was announced today and I was hoping she would go ahead and finish out the season first. I love Izzie (and Alex) so I am a little upset! Especially after they made the big deal out of her and the cancer bout and George's passing. How do you guys feel about it?
  3. What style do you usually wear your hear in? "natural" can have many textures...
  4. I too love Sex and the City and Carrie most of all, and I sure wish she would have stayed with Aidan, LOVE HIM!!!!! Can't wait until part 2 of the movie comes out. ***notice how I am trying to shift the focus away from that LOSER of a chic that Crista knows***
  5. Thanks!!! on the word thing, I used the template provided by our wonderful host of this thread and just tweaked it to my colors and stuff. I made some more, but i dunno how to show you guys those too. Once step at a time...
  6. Yes 24/7 wedding thoughts will definitely be in the minds of you Nov 2011 ladies soon, heck I have less than a year now and SO much to do!
  7. I am an attorney and my FI is a pilot for American Airlines, stellar flight benes
  8. I agree hat0112, I always wanted that look as well. So far he has not put up a stink about the black suit thing. I should have clarified on that because it would be too expensive to rent a tux from the states and take it there for a whole week. He has a black suit, but it is wool and too heavy, so I think we will just look for a lighter material that is more breathable and he can change to whatever for the reception AFTER our first dance of course
  9. it TOTALLY is doable! We are well under $8,000 and we will have 30 guests! Take advatage of the hotel freebies and your TA should be able to get you some free room upgrades and stuff for a certain number of guests
  10. Yea I really want more of a chill vibe for the reception, not the ceremony itself. I am changing to an ivory knee length dress for the reception and maybe he can change into the khaki look for that. Then we get the best of both worlds!! You wonderful ladies have swayed me against the tux thing, but we will look for black linen suits over the summer for him. Mens Wearhouse a good place to look?
  11. O YEA I DID IT O YEA I DID IT LOL ok so what do you guys think? Had to make this work from my laptop at work, for some reason I couldn't work it out on the Mac... P.S. 2 points for PCs now
  12. Hey there! We just moved here about a year ago so not only am I looking for planning tips but meeting people in the area as well! Let me know Cheers
  13. Not too far, and I pass through DFW a lot in my travels. Maybe we can link up sometime!
  14. OK so maybe I am not the expert on tans or tanning (check out my profile pic LOL) but I think the tucking of the suit straps would be ok. I tan VERY quickly when I get in the sun and lines are a problem for people of color as well. I have a string bikini I will be wearing at the beach and I also need support for the "girls" so I just plan to either tuck it around or use a t shirt/towel to avoid exposing myself when I am laying on my back in the sun. Make sense?
  15. I am using "Daughters" by John Mayer. Makes me tear up now just thinking about it
  16. I think I am leaning toward the black linen suit thing Great ideas!
  17. I think my thing is I like the black color next to the ivory/white of the dress. I mean when it comes down to it we are all snazzied up (i.e. not wearing any old off the rack dress from your local department store) so I think the guys should be too! Black just bumps things up a notch, even if it is a linen suit or whatever. I am asking guests to dress "beach chic" so khakis and linen stuff is ok for them, but I don't want my FI to blend in with the guests!!!! I did not choose a DW because I wanted a casual environment, I wanted an environment that was beautiful and honeymoon wrapped up in one! I dunno, that's just me...
  18. I will look again, and I won't throw the Mac, I promise Now I am at work on the PC so we shall see what I can do on here! Don't be surprised if a monogram pops up (fingers crossed)
  19. A black suit and tie would be ok! Maybe a summer suit. Sounds like a trip to Mens Wearhouse is in order! Thanks ladies
