I went with ivory. I am very fair skinned and the white completely washed me out and looked awful on me. So I had to go with ivory!

I am jealous of you guys and your hot weather! It's finally sunny here and will get up to about 13! Better than the snow that people got camping on the May long weekend though! I can't wait to read everyone's reviews, and thank you in advance for posting them and answering everyone's questions!

Hey Alberta Brides! I just got my January 2011 flights confirmed from both Edmonton and Calgary and my TA got us direct flights and the price confirmations. So it is possible!! We are also doing the symbolic ceremony, and have that date booked as well by my TA. Good luck and happy May long weekend!

Jerzshortstuff...I am booked using the Imperial Club. It's a deal that Air Transat Vacations here in Canada has with the resort. I bet there is some American version too!!! Carribeanlover...good luck with the surgery! I have heard of that too. Good luck with the surgery, you will do awesome!! I think I also read somewhere about a review? Can't wait to read it! I am wondering about the AHR too! How did everyone's go? We are debating if we are going to do that or not. Sungoddess you are so close to your date! Yaaaayyyyy!!! My excitement for today is that my dress is in! Next week I will be trying it on....hope I still love it!

carribeanLover I can't believe you had all that drama! That's awful!! I also can't believe she waited until 3 days before the wedding to book and THEN was insulted she wasn't a bridesmaid! Wow!! DEH....thanks for the reply! My FI keeps telling me that I worry too much about pleasing everyone else and I need to stop that and worry about myself! I just already feel frustrated with people and I JUST sent out the invites!! Sorry to hear you got burned with the free trip/TA. We did go with a group rate (another issue with some people) but so far I really like my TA. So I am hoping things keep going well as we start booking more and more people. BUT....I am so happy to hear the wedding went well!! Will you be posting pics?? Finding this board was one of the best things though!! It helps to talk to other people who have gone through the same thing!!!!

I too am loving reading all of your wedding stories!!! Makes me so happy that we picked the Grand Palladium Resort!! Thanks for the info about the beach party too....that was also something i was wondering about! I think we may do the gazebo for the ceremony (FI wants that and I think it looks pretty nice too!), dinner somewhere and then the beach party. Although I gotta admit my biggest issue right now is dealing with my potential guests. We sent the invites out already thinking that would give people time to save and while I have gotten some excited feedback, I keep getting the negative stuff too. Like the cost, deposit, time of year and why are we going away. Did you girls run into the same thing?

Thanks for all the updates on how your weddings went! Congrats to you all!!! Mine is soooo long away, I just want it to be January now! (Which is weird since I live in Edmonton!) I have a couple questions if anyone can answer them, hey great and if not that's ok too! 1) For the ceremony did anyone use the Mexican Trio? Or do you just bring your own music to use? 2) We are also thinking of doing the beach party but are debating between the live band or the DJ. Any thoughts either way? 3) I noticed a lot of you brought decorations (which I wasn't thinking of doing). What does Carolina have there? Are the chair sashes included? How are the wedding sites decorated? And the restaurant and beach party? I am trying to not worry about details but obviously I am failing already. Ahh!!

Another Edmonton bride here! My name is Sheila (fiance is Mike) and we are getting married January 2011 at the Grand Palladium Bavaro in Punta Cana! I actually went dress shopping and fell in love with a dress at Bridal Debut in Sherwood Park. I had a good experience there and loved the service I got! And yes, great idea starting this thread!

Darn it! Wrong flowers!! I would like to know what they look like too! Even though I have a feeling they will change again by the time my day rolls around....

I think we are going to get married here in Edmonton and then do the symbolic ceremony in Punta Cana. Our TA recommended going this route and I think it may be the easiest in terms of paperwork. But we plan to celebrate our anniversary with the date from the symbolic ceremony. We don't plan to make the "paperwork" day special. Then again, we're planning for January 2011, so who knows what I may decide between now and then!
