We're also doing a charity donation to the American Cancer Society instead of favors. I've had to travel for a lot of my friends weddings because they all got married in Boston this summer right after my fiance and moved to Texas...and quite honestly, I felt terrible but the favors always ended up in the hotel room trash can (except the edible ones)...I probably shouldn't have just admitted that hahaha Hi Lilly129! Could you please share where you're getting your truffles? I was thinking the same thing, getting some Mexican chocolate or coffee or something along those lines.

  3. Anyone have any luck or hear anything else about possibly getting the $20 dinner menu
  4. Are the flowers for your hair?? If so, I'd love to have those!
  5. I don't have enough points to open the template, but I'm dying to know what the Nicholas Sparks quote is?
  6. Found great luggage tags at an Ebay store called Coastal Home Gifts. I'm having trouble pasting a picture, but they're all beach-themed tags.(crabs, turtle, starfish, beach chair) Really cute!! Spent more than I wanted to but I think they were worth it. $5.50 each.
  7. I am having a heck of a time finding luggage tags. Does anyone know where to find these? I'm looking for bright colored (orange, red or turquiose) tags that are reasonably priced. I need about 30. I would really appreciate any advice!! I've been looking online, but am only finding high-end ones. Thanks girls! Cheri
  8. Hi There! I know the luggage tags are sold, but could youplease tell me where you bought those?? I am having a hard time finding them. Much Appreciated! Cheri
  9. Samuel Luna is great as well. I booked him for this upcoming May. Flash Portfolio | Top Mexico Photographers | Mexico Destination Wedding Photographer Samuel Luna

Are you saying that with the Ultimate package we CAN'T get the tres leches cake as our wedding cake that we cut??! Oh, and now they have lounge furniture...does this mean they don't work with EW Cancun as an outside vendor anymore? I am sooo confused!!! I was getting all stressed and talking to my fiance and he was all like," just relax, don't worry about it. There is no need to stress when we don't have a confirmed amount of people yet. The OOT bag contents and reception, ceremony stuff- vases, ribbon, real touch flowers, etc, can all be bought from stores locally then we can ship it to Tulum. Just relax". Am I overreacting?!!! Maybe I should listen to him?!? HELP!!! I think we're all freaking out a bit, but it will probably all work out fine. The scary thing is with the Ultimate package (which I'm getting too) you have to account for the cocktail hour as well. This package is for 20 people only for everything, including cocktail hour, dinner, cake and sparkling wine. Each extra person will cost you $112.50 with taxes and service fees. That is brutal!! I'm thinking about cutting out extra cake and cocktail hour completely if I have too many people RSVP. I hate to do that being how 20 people are included already, but $112 per person is so much money. I agree though, that there is no need to panic until you get your final guest count. Lounge furniture?? I don't know anything about that. What's going on there?

If i am getting one of the dreams of love package, but i also want dancing at my reception, do i have to pay for that? OMG, I hope not! My understanding is that is you want an official dance floor you can rent it from them (much cheaper through DJ, by the way), but I plan on just using the sand as my dance floor to skip that expense altogether! And I agree, I think it may be best just to go with the package at this point. I have a feeling that's the resort's goal, but I could be wrong.

Unless they changed everything on Jan 1 of this year, I am going to assume that things remain the same. That you can have the ultimate package and choose either gold, silver or $20 menu. What if you don't like any food on the gold menu, they really wouldn't let you choose other items? Plus for some brides, they may have booked here because of the cheaper costs, and now that they will be forced to spend upwards of thousands more just for food, that could have changed their initial decision to choose this resort. Seems very unprofessional. But like I said earlier, I just don't think they really understand what we are asking and once we get down there, everything should work out smoohtly (crosses fingers!). Hey Oceanwonderland, I hope you're right, but I just got a clarification email from Aurora stating again that this wasn't an option any longer for 2010. She' telling me that I have to order from the Silver or Gold menu. She said I understand you're trying to save money but this is the policy as per the 2010 wedding guide. What a buzzkill having to spend so much $$ just for food. Again, I hope things are different when we get there, but I wouldn't count on it girls!

  14. Another quick question: I'm looking into purchasing koozies for guests, but am not sure of what size to order. Any former brides have suggestions? They have tall koozies for bottles and then standard for either cans or regular cups. I'm not sure how Dreams serves their drinks.
  15. Anyone out there have a schedule of events? I realize these may potentially change, but I'd like to get an idea. Is there really activites/shows every night? I am considering trying to push back my wedding from Tuesday night to Wednesday so everyone won't miss the Mexican Fiesta night; is this crazy But then I know we have kiddos who really want to do the campout on the beach and I don't want to miss that either. Not sure what to do!
  16. Hi OceanWonderland! Check out Samuel Luna for photography! He's great and a little more affordable!
  17. Just learned that bonfires are no longer allowed at the resort either! I feel like I missed all the fun stuff; should've planned earlier I guess. I was told I could plan a welcome dinner on the beach with drinks and canapes for $25 pp/per hour. Uggg!!

Just my opinion though! I just went through your planning thread--nicely done!! I have to ask you where you got your cake topper. Hilarious!! I may copy your letter you sent out a month prior if you don't mind!

  20. Hi All! I just realized that the resort is hosting Mexican Party night the same night as my wedding. Does anyone know if this will pose a problem? I'd hate to be competing for sound. I wish I would have known this, I would have scheduled my wedding for Wednesday night instead, and took the group to Mexican night. I actually feel bad that my guests will have to miss it! For anyone just planning, Mexican Party night is every Tuesday and Caribbean night is every Friday. Just an FYI!

My original 30 is now more like 15. Just a suggestion to check that out so that you can save yourself some stress. Yeah, I guess you're right. This may not even be any issue in the end. Some people have booked, but definitely not all. Thanks!
  22. No, I don't. I have the Ultimate package booked and honestly, I wasn't too worried because I didn't think I'd go too many people over the package limit of 20. I just read about the $20 on this forum and had that in the back of my head as backup. Oh well, I guess I'll figure it out one way or another, right:-)

We are actually temp. relocating to Vancouver either in April or May or after the wedding for about a year (FI work)?!! It would be great to have a friendly face in the area when we move!! Good luck with everything! Hope to chat with you soon! Everyone- Is anyone dealing with Aurora as their WC? I have'nt seen any reviews for her on this site yet?!! Thanks! Hi There! I am getting married on the 25th at 6pm, with a beach ceremony and reception. So far, I'm bringing in an outside photographer and DJ, but using the resort for everything else. I'm not too worried about decor, I think the beach is scenic enough in itself. I have Aurora too, and she's been pretty impressive thus far. She's responded fairly quick to all my questions. Maybe not what I wanted to hear neccessarily, but at least she responded!
