Hi Girls! My wedding is scheduled for May, 25, 2010. I am wondering if anyone would want to sell me their decorations when you're done with them. I would love some lanterns and maybe some chair sashes, but may be interestd in other things as well. I'm thinking about bring my own stuff, but I have 3 little kiddos and luggage will already be an issue for us so I thought if I could find someone willing to sell me their stuff at the resort it would be much easier! The colors I'd love to use are, red, Aqua or turquise, and orange. Thanks girls!!

Sashes still availbale??

To make a VERY LONG story short......she is not getting in touch with the booking agent at the resort as I expected and as she told me and then she tells me that my guests will have to call the hotel booking agent to reserve their rooms once we "hold" rooms at the resort. Uugghh.....!! I just want to make it very easy on my guests...I have guests coming from all over and I want them to be able to all go through one TA and book their rooms and flights (if that is what they choose). I was hoping to list my TA's contact information on the Save The Dates , this way everyone can call / email her to get travel arrangement initiated??!! Am I way off base here?? Is there something else I should be looking into? OR, does anyone recommend a good travel agency / agent in the Houston, TX area that I could contact? Thanks ladies!!! Jennifer Hi Jennifer! I think you definitely need a new TA. I have had some issues with my TA as well, but she is absolutely taking care of booking everyone's room and even arranging their tranfers and tours, if they choose. I put all of her information on my Save the Dates and she has been in touch with each and every guest. The only person who has spoken with the actual resort is my TA. I agree, it's important to make this easy for the guests! Best of luck!!

They both have gotten great reviews and are affordable!!Good luck!

Also with a Cocktail hour that will take us to 7ish then you figure everyone will arrive at the dinner location around 7:30 that will give us only 3hours to cram in dinnder cake and a Dance with out having to pay a per person per hour fee after 10:30PM. so i think if we move it up we will have more time. Anywho.. I noticed your from Colorado.. So am I. But anyways.. you were asking about the lanterns and the resort. It's amazing. I Love all Dreams Resorts. But this one is very nice.. Large but nice. You will love it! if you have any questions or anything feel free to ask. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!!! Hey Danielle! Nice to meet another Denver bride! I see what you're saying with the pictures and sunlight. I know the sun sets around 7:30 that time of year so I guess I was thinking either I'll need to take some pics before the ceremony or basically miss cocktail hour. I do like the timing of it all though because I figure the ceremony will be from 6-6:30, cocktail hour from 6:30-7:30 and then reception from 7:30-10:30. I was told the receptions were only 3 hours and that they had to end by 10:30. I know it will all be crammed in there, I just didn't want there to be a lulll in between anything. Anyway, are you bringing decor with you? I am so back and forth with this.

Cancun PHOTOGRAPHERS
Cheri replied to sunitam's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Hey All! Check out Flash Portfolio | Top Mexico Photographers | Mexico Destination Wedding Photographer Samuel Luna. He's very reasonable with great references. I love some of the other mentioned photographers as well,(Del Sol, Claudia) but with 3 little kiddos it's hard to justify spending that kind of money. Samuel is quick to respond to emails too! Happy choosing! -
Okay, so I've decided that I will probably bring some paper lanterns for decorations for the sake of photos. (The pics with bright colors always look the best-IMO. So my question is with having my reception on the beach is there actually somewhere to hang the lanterns from? I also have a color-opinion question if you girls don't mind helping?? My dress is champagne in color with accents of red and pink flowers in the back. I am thinking about decorating with red, aqua and orange (my favorite colors, plus I think they add the perfect pop for pics) Do you think this will look okay? I'd love some advice as I've never been to this resort and it's so hard to picture in my mind. Thanks girls!!

Help me pick a wedding dress!
Cheri replied to mslis007's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I vote for number 2; although you look great in both! I just think 2 is more of a beach dress and I love the flowers on it. Good luck in choosing. I know it can be stressful. I couldn't decide so I bought 4 and am having to sell 3. I know, a little crazy!! -
Hi Girls! My indecisiveness could be your gain. I bought 4 wedding dresses--I know a little extreme-- but I have made my decison and the Kirstie Kelly gets to move on to someone else who loves it like I do. It's labeled size 16, street size 14. This gown was ordered with 2x extra length to work for a bride a little over 6' tall. I am 5'5" so I was just going to have it altered to fit. A master seamtress told me this dress can be altered down 3 sizes easily. It Champagne in color and the material is chiffon and satin. Purchased in 2009, still has original tags. The original owner wore this at an outdoor wedding so the bottom 4 inches or so have some markings which I was told could be taken out with "wet" cleaning. This wasn't an issue for me since I was going to have the bottom cut off anyway. "This enchanting collection reflects Jasmine's bohemian spirit. Gown draped in chiffon and satin. Celestial pleated bodice with classic empire seam. Chiffon skirt drapes dramatically in back." This gown sells new for $2300-2700, depending where you purchase it. I'm trying to regain what I paid so I'm asking $1300. May consider offers--this wedding stuff is getting expensive!! I'm having trouble uploading photos of the dress, but I can either email some to you or you can do a google search and find photos of the dress. It truly is a spectacular dress. Perfect for beach wedding.

STARFISH BRACELETS w/TOGGLE LOCKS
Cheri replied to cancunbride's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
Are they sterling silver? -
I was quoted $900 from Mannia and $650 from Doremixx. However, I know that Doremixx prices go up each year about $100. I went with Doremixx, and from the sounds of it, he's going to be great so I'm very happy with my decision. Good luck in choosing! I don't think there's a wrong decision in this case. They both get great reviews!

Thank you so very much, Syl! I know we all really appreciate it! Thanks for the necklaces too!! Cheri

Hi girls! Are there any brides out there that do not plan on bringing decorations?? I am so torn. I honestly wasn't planning on bringing anything from the get-go, but now I'm seeing all these reviews and it seems as if most bring stuff with them (i.e. lanterns, candles, chair sashes, table runners, etc.) I don't want everything to be dull, I was just hoping the natural surroundings would be enough. Any thoughts
