  1. I wore gray dress pants with an open collar white dress shirt and white shoes (which I ended up taking off anyway!). My best man wore the same pants, black open collar dress shirt and black shoes! It worked out well awesome for us, but quite informal! MIKE
  2. Hello ladies! The sole groom on here, back from our wedding at the RPDC. Lisa and I were married on November 30th on the beach in front of the gazebo. We ended up going with the Mayan Ceremony, which turned out to be UNREAL! We only invited 9 to our wedding, but about 100 or gathered around the beach to watch. It was incredible! We weren't really fussy about many of the details, so our planning process just went with the flow. I think that helped keep the stress down. In the end though, everything our expectations, and then some. Zulma was our wedding coordinator, and our reception was at El Mediterraneo. The staff at El Mediterraneo are incredible, and I would highly recommend this for anyones semi private reception. Its also the coolest temperature wise, which was refreshing after a day in dress pants. We used Sascha Gluck as our photographer, and for those who are considering him - please BOOK HIM. He is polite, easy going, and though we haven't seen the final product yet, the shots he gave us a sneak peak at were incredible. As I get more photos, I will try to post them along with a review. In the meantime, if you ladies have any questions, I will do my best to answer them! MIKE.
  3. Thanks Kelly, We have agreed to a 100$ outside vendor fee. So, I am wondering if it may be worth it to look at a company that does symbolic ceremonies.. Is there such a thing??? LOL, is it weird that I'm doing a lot of the planning? Its more of a team effort.. I'm the social one I guess.. THANKS Mike.
  4. Hi All, I've neglected to post on here, but I have tried to keep up with the topics! My fiancee and I are getting married on November 30th, 2010 at RPDC (We should see Jenny310 and FutureMrsYak there!). I just got a phone call from Elsa (who has been pretty good, maybe a bit disorganized at some points) asking if we had arranged a person to conduct our ceremony. I definitely overlooked this aspect! I thought it was included in our package!!!!!!!!! They will provided somebody for 400$ she said.. We are having a symbolic ceremony only, so can anyone recommend someone to hold the ceremony for us?! Bah, 28 days to the wedding, EEEK! MIKE.... Probably one of the few guys doing planning around here!
  5. Hey all, Did everyone here book through the hotel directly, TA, or did some use an online travel site? I am doing all the booking for my guests, so I'm trying to find the best price! M.
  6. (Noobie post...) Hey all, I know that the topic title is RPDC Brides.... But I hope you all won't mind a groom on here! My fiance (is that what FI stands for?), and I are planning a Royal Playa del Carmen wedding for December 3, 2010. Ours will be a small, (smaller than all I have read about on here) with about 7 of our closest to attend! This website has been a fantastic resource so far, and we are looking forward to planning! Bye for now!! Mike and Lisa
