  1. Hi Trish, Congrats on your wedding - it all sounds amazing! I am actually getting married on June 12, 2010 at Las Caletas and can hardly believe I leave in under 2 weeks! My group is also staying at Dreams Villamagna and I was wondering if you have a recommendation of a bar at the hotel to have my guests meet at for a welcome drink? I don't want to set something up through the hotel - but just wanted a good meeting spot the night the majority of our guests arrive. We do have a couple kids in our party - therefore, I wasn't sure if the Sushi bar would work. Any tips you have would be great! Thanks and congrats again! Amy
  2. I am hoping someone can give me some advice regarding booking a hotel for our group. We are getting married at Las Caletas and have decided to move forward with having all of our guests stay at Dreams Villamagna. I have been trying to negotiate a group rate with the hotel but the price they are quoting me is more expensive than what I am finding online. It seems it is cheaper to just have everyone book their flights and hotel in a vacation package with either Orbitz or Expedia. I am wondering how people have handled this in the past. Is it smart to lock a block of rooms with the hotel even though it is going to cost everyone $200 -$300 more to book directly through the hotel? Or have people just told their groups to find package deals online and book their travel that way? We want to make things as affordable for our guests as possible; however, by working with the hotel it actually will cost them more. Please let me know if you have any thoughts or guidance on this. I am a little confused as to what to do. Thanks!
  3. Thanks so much! I will reach out to her and see what I can find out. Have any of you been able to lock a discounted group rate at VM?
  4. Hi there, good luck on deciding! I have been trying to get in touch with someone from Dreams Villamagna about a group rate. We are getting married in PV in June and are looking for a place for our guests to stay - we are estimating 80-100 people. Have you been working with anyone who has been responsive at VM? If so, would you mind sharing their contact info with me? I need to lock this down ASAP as June is not too far away. Thanks!
  5. Hi All, I am new LC bride and thought I would say hi since I have been reading everyone's posts for the last couple days Gosh there is a lot of information on LC...and it truly sounds like the perfect spot! We are looking at booking June 12, 2010 so I need to start getting organized. The big thing I am stuck on is where to have everyone stay. It is important for us to find a place that is affordable to all of our guests rather than a place that is super fancy. I have been researching a number of hotels online but thought I would reach out to all of you to see if you have any recommendations. Dreams PV sounds like a popular spot but I am afraid it is a little pricey for some of our guests. Also, my FI and I have never even been to PV (and I don't think we are going to do a site visit) so we are just going to make our decision off recommendations. Ok, here are few details about what we are looking for - let me know if any of you have any thoughts: - Beachfront - A larger resort that has multiple Restaurants/ Bars/ Activities - All-inclusive (but a resort that offers an AI plan as well as a European plan would be fine) - Swim-up bar would be fun but not necessary - A resort that is good for kids as well as adults (I have noticed that some resorts offer a kids free option) - A resort that is mid-range in price so it doesn't brake the bank of all our guests - Location doesn't really matter but one near the marina would be a plus so transportation on the wedding day is easy - Either Puerto Vallarta or Nuevo Vallarta is fine but I do think it would be fun to have our guests stay closer to PV for certain activities Sorry for the LONG introduction email...but I want to get this organized so we can get our invites out. We aren't giving people much time to plan for this (just over 5 months) and we are anticipating 80-100 guests! One final thing, are there any June brides out there? I am a little nervous about the weather but this is the date we have to go with. Thanks in advance and Cheers!
