If you have a small group (Like 8-10 ppl max) there is a small, gorgeous gazebo on the water which you can use at Iberostar Beach. The regular beach, unfortunately, is not private and people can come and go as they please. I read that other girls had a big guys act as a 'guard' blocking the beach off in front of the ceremony so strangers don't ruin pics. The Villas are beautiful but pricey so that's why I cut them pretty early. Best of luck. Jenn

The Aqueducts are expensive. The rental fee alone for 2h at the Aqueduct is $2500 (paid to the gold course) Then TWJ package is additional. What worked best for us was buying the lower end package and then adding things we wanted e.g. champagne, transportation, steel drum band etc. We are bringing our own Real Touch flowers and some decor. It is so beautiful there though I think it will be worth it!

When I ask Latoya about a poolside reception she only said "it has never been done before" so I'm not sure if that is a for sure no. Maybe someone can 'pilot' it for us?? I don't mind having dinner at 'Tony's' but the reception is technically over by 1030pm. I asked about an extention on the time frame but there is some noise bylaws so they said they couldn't. If there was another option (other than the disco) I would love to know!

Thanks for your message Scrouse, I am also using TWJ and Almarie has been amazing so far! I'm glad to hear she is just as good during the wedding as planning the wedding. Did you give she a tip? I am curious to know if she just works for the buisness or if it is hers? Just a heads up for brides, if you find your dream venue and it is NOT on her list ask about it! I did and now we are booked into the Aqueduct location on the Cinnamon Hill Golf Course. She is very flexible!

Hi there, to answer your question yes there are private locations available to have your wedding at Iberostar Beach Hotel, for example a balcony over looking the pool. Check out the info under "Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!" a sticky post under Jamaica Accomodation/Site. I also think there are a few reviews for the Iberostar Beach under 'Reviews' one which was done on the balcony area. Good luck!

Where did you buy your fake bouquets?
Princess J replied to miznunu2010's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Hey does anyone know why AA has been removed as a vendor. I am looking into them for my bouquet but I'm nervous since they have been removed?? -
Thanks Catalyst. I'm not 100% if Latoya is still there as she no longer responds to my emails. Maybe on holidays? Does anyone know the dimensions of the round tables at "Tony's", I am looking into table runner to make them a bit more colourful but I'm unsure of the size. Also do any of the 'Iberostar Beach' girls know if there is poolside dancing available as offered at the Suites?

Thanks everyone. Sometimes I think I get too hung up on the small stuff. We can't control the weather so I am just going to have it when I want it. 3pm. done and done. -
Heather Parker Photographer
Princess J replied to twinklelittlestar's topic in Jamaica Wedding Vendors
Hey everyone, don't quote me on her prices but just to give you a ballpark she told me. Her 'shooting fee' is $1800 and this includes a full day on the day of the wedding and two mini events (e.g. TTD, rehersal dinner, brunch, etc.). It also includes her time for touching up photos, the full High Res disc with all the photos (capable of printing anywhere) with photos in black/white and color, an online gallery, and a slideshow set to music. In addition to this fee you pay for her hotel for 2-3 nights and her airfare (airfare alone from Chicago is $400-$600). Her airfare/accomodation can be split with another bride (if you can find one). Of note: if your wedding is mid-week e.g. Tues,Wed, Thurs she charges a reduced 'shooting fee', the price she gave me for my Wednesday wedding is $1200 + flight/accomodation. So based on this her total cost for me will be $1200 + $1500 (3 nights)= $2700 approx I still haven't 100% decided on her. We have some local photographers (2) that are AMAZING and shot my sisters wedding and did a great job. They are more expensive though ($5000) so I'm not sure which way I want to go. Check out JONETSU and let me know if you have any suggestions. Hope this helps. -
HELP Grand Palladium Brides!!!!
Princess J replied to lmdels's topic in Jamaica Accommodations & Site
Hi everyone, I know this has been asked but I am so confused between the 2 Palladium resorts and the different package names on this forum (and on the Palladium website)! I have also spend a good many hours going through the posts and I am still confused so maybe someone can help. I was inquiring about "Grande Palladium" in Montego Bay and recieved a 2010 Wedding Magazine which quotes 3 packages 1. Sapphire: $1700 and $20pp after 8 people 2. Ruby: $2000 and $20pp after 8 people 3. Pearl: $2400 and $20pp after 8 peopl I asked about a private reception and was told this was $45pp. So if I wanted the RUBY package and the private reception for 40 people would I pay $2000 + $640 (32 x$20) and then + $1800 ($45 x40) so total $4440 I have also seen some people say it is an additional $300 for a 'private reception' fee? Help! -
4 or 5 pm wedding in May???
Princess J replied to BeachBride83's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Hi everyone, I am trying to decide my wedding time as well. I am getting married in Feb. so sunset is about 6pm. I am trying to decide between early, like noon, or later like 3pm but our reception doesn't start until 7pm. My major concern is the weather as according to our TA and the website Rainfall in Jamaica the majority of rain is in the late afternoon/early evening as all the heat has been building throughout the day. If we get married earlier it will give us less time to get ready, more time in-between but perhaps less chance of rain. My TA also says not to worry about guests waiting too long between events they have a beautiful resort with pools and restaurants to go to. If we get married later we will have more time but it has a greater risk of rain. Thoughts? -
Hi everyone, I found this posting on TripAdvisor and thought I would share: "My perfect wedding at a wonderful resort” Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Hotel Regina, Saskatchwan, Canada Mar 8, 2010 "My partner and I, along with 23 of our friends and family stayed at the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach for our wedding at the end of Feb, what a wonderful vacation! The resort was the perfect size for this sort of thing- large enough to have variety in restaurants to eat and and plenty of activites to do, but small enough to still run into everyone in the group without having to track them down. The staff were all very plesant, and the place was kept very clean. Tips are not necessary but seem to be very much appreciated, a little tip goes a long way. There is plenty to do around the resort, the Star friends go out of their way to try to get people to participate and everyone in our group had a blast. The A La Carte restaurants were great, I didn't get a chance to go to the Cajun one, but others in our group enjoyed it. The Japanese is wonderful, teppanyaki style- which is entertaining. I am a vegetarain and there were very good about accomodating me, they made me some tofu with my veggies and rice, and everything was delicious! The steakhouse is nice, this is where we had our wedding dinner. Food is very good and service is top notch. Every time you take a sip of wine or water they are there to refill it! The main buffets were great too. The most delicious fresh made doughnuts every day at breakfast, and also a omelette station and pasta station, freshly made just how you want it! There was a crepe station one evening at dinner, so delicious! I was dissapointed they didn't have it again during our stay. We didn't take in too much of the evening entertainment, but from what we saw it was pretty average. Some shows better than others of course. The resort offers a free bus into Margeritaville in the evenings, which will also bring you back at the end of the night. We didn't take advantage of this but did check out the disco (located in the Grand 2 doors down), and it was alot of fun, seemed to be pretty busy both nights we were there. We did many excursions while down there- spent a day in Negril, checked out the world famous Rick's Cafe, went to Ocho Rios- climed the Dunn's River Falls, Ziplined, did the Black River Safari, Lumionous Lagoon, it was wonderful! Most of these tours we did with Ken Gracey of Doctorbird tours, he really made our trip so memorable. His prices are lower than the tours through the resort, and he does many little side trips and shows you lots of Jamaica's little "hidden gems". In addition he takes photos of your tour and burns and disc and delivers it to your hotel at no extra charge. We have hundreds of wonderful candid photos of ourselves and jamaican life thanks to Ken. There were a few minor problems that occured during our stay- such as our room was not ready at check in... a little dissapointing after a long travel day. However, my husband and I got upgraded to an oceanview room so were happy with it in the end. Also we had asked our wedding coordinator if we could cut off our wristbands for the wedding, she told us no problem. Then when we went to get our new ones the next morning the front desk agent was telling us unless we had our old ones we would be charged $5 for each one. This infuriated me, as I was not told to save my old one, and we spent thousands of dollars at the resort between our wedding package and 10 day trip, not to mention that we brought 23 guests along with us. In the end we dealt with another girl who was much more helpful and didn't have to pay for the replacement wristbands. As far as the wedding goes, everything was perfect. We used the terrace for the ceremony which was very beautiful and much more private than the beach location. The photos turned out great. The wedding coordinator Latoya, was very good and made sure everything was taken care of as I had requested. The steel pans band provided cheerful island music that really made it feel like a fun event. We seemed to get really good treatment our entire stay at the resort, we felt like celebrities! Overall I would say this is a great resort, one of my favorite so far. We hope to be back some day to celebrate an anniversary!"

I'm booked too! Feb 2, 2011 at Iberostar Rose Hall Beach! I still have to book my trip though, I'm getting a bit nervous as the prices my TA is quoting seems so high. I'm wondering if I should just wait until the real prices come out? DebbMach are you waiting to book the resort for the week? When did your TA say the prices would be out?? -

Princess J replied to frannkie's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Hi everyone, I had a look at prices from Vancouver to Jamaica 1 week AI at Iberostar Beach and it is about $1600 pp + tax (approx $1800 total), my TA's (I currently have 3) are giving me quotes of $2200 Debb what are your quotes? Does anyone else find when looking at prices in advance their TA's quotes are a bit high?? -
Hi Catalyst, I tried to contact the Suites WC for weeks with no response- I have heard other brides have had this problem too. I think many of them were just calling her using Skype. The WC from the Beach is great- her name is Latoya her email is [email protected], she responsed within 1-2 days but only re: Iberostar Beach Hotel Good luck!

My Wedding at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites
Princess J replied to JamaicaorBust2010's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Sounds amazing! Congrats! -
They are super cute! Vistaprint has some great deals for their stuff. The frequently have 50% sales and I am making some STD magnets which will only come to about $50 for 50. Can't decide if I should just throw them in an envelope or add a letter. Most of my family/friends already know about the wedding anyways but there is some family from Toronto that may not know yet so I'm not sure??
