  1. I'm bringing my photogs from Vancouver and they are willing to include one too for free. Good to negotiate in advance though.

  3. Heather Parker was one of our choices; she is actually quite reasonable with pricing (less than some local photogs like Sungold/Saab). We were going to go with her but we just recently found out our local photographer, who did my sisters wedding, have agreed to come! They are EXPENSIVE and will cost us $5000 but there are 2 flying out from Vancouver, B.C. and there work is unreal! I feel happy that they are local and I am comfortable with their work so I won't stress about my pics! 4. Wow those look great! Thanks for the tip, it is always a pain to ship to Canada. Nice to know they arrived safe and sound for a reasonable price.
  5. Ok I have done a bit of researching so I thought I would share. Sheila's bakery can be contacted by email [email protected] Other prices have quoted prices:3 tier vanilla cakes $350.00US, 3 tier Jamaican fruit cakes $450.00US, 3 tier chocolate cakes $400.00US. The cake will be delivered and set up for the same cost. However, I have found these from old posts and other girls are now quoting $600-$700 so I'm not sure the prices now. I also have a friend of a friend who lives in Jamaica and I will try to get them to find other good bakers. I'll post what I find.

Sounds like reasonable prices to me, I ordered from Angel's and I got 1 bridal bouquet: $100 1 MOH: $80 (BM bouquets $60) 4 boutonnieres (price varies from $10-12 based on who they are for): $40 2 corsage: $28 Hair flower: $12 Total: $260 + shipping/duty to Canada $325 Based on the prices I got, if you ordered from AA it would prob be about $335 + shipping

Mine are beautiful! Fuchsia and Mango calla lilies and roses with green cymbidium orchids as a border. I tried to post it but my pic is too big and I don't know how to resize it. Once I get them I will post!
  9. I just talked to her yesterday and she says she is booking up quickly for next year so if you are interested give her a call!
  10. Thanks for the coupon, shipping is always the PITS for us Canadian girls, even though the shipping wasn't free it was like 75% the price I had been quoted by the site. Now I can't wait for 60 Raffia fans!
  11. I was thinking I might try to sew the pillow myself! I saw Martha Stewart had some DIY pillows so I will see what I can come up with! Anyone who has suggestions I would love to hear....
  12. Check out the coupon for OT another girl posted 2 days ago, free shipping and $5.00 order $50 or more! I think it expires soon though.
  13. When I booked my wedding at the Iberostar Beach hotel, the WC had to send me the wedding request form. It just has some basic details to fill out and you send it with your scanned passport or other ID and scanned credit card.
  14. Went to Micheals in Vancouver, BC and they have a lot of baskets on sale too right now (post-easter) which may be good for flower girls!
  15. Hi everyone, after doing a bit of shopping for a ring pillow I decided that I want to make it myself so it is more original. Only problem is that I am a not an arts and crafts person so I need help! Did a quick search and there isn't a lot of DIY pillows pics posted, just wondering if anyone is making it themselves? Any pics/instructions would help!
  16. Hi everyone, I am looking into purchasing a cake in the Montego Bay area. The only baker I have heard about is 'Sheila's', does anyone know her contact info? Any other good cake vendors in the area?
  17. I'm still finding shipping expensive, OT wanted $24 for shipping on an order that was $30 (So my total was almost $60), think I might try another site. Thanks for the tip though.
  18. Great review, thanks. I am using TWJ and Almarie has been great. Glad to hear everything went smoothly up to and including the big day!
  19. Congrats in advance NegrilB, can't wait to hear all about your amazing wedding!
  20. I decided on 3pm. I wanted enough time for pictures (sun sets earlier in the 'winter' months) and also the sun won't be directly over head so it will be a bit cooler. I didn't want to leave my guests too long between ceremony and reception.
  21. Pink Petals your flowers are AMAZING. Thanks for the posts, I just ordered from AA and she has been really quick to reply and also very accomodating. I am happy with my choice. Oh and there is a little section on her website under "BDW" which has a blurb about this site. Can't WAIT to get my flowers!!!
  22. Hey Debb, My ceremony only will be planned by Almarie/TWJ and it will be at the Aqueducts and the reception dinner will be at Uncle Tony's at Iberostar Beach Hotel with the WC from the resort organizing it. TWJ does offer private beach locations for weddings which look beautiful. I looked into that previously and she said the 'private beach' offered is completely private e.g. no one other than the wedding party will be on the beach for that time (unlike the beach at the hotel). TWJ can also do a private reception afterwards but it is a per person charge so I decided based on costs to stay with the Beach restaurant as it is $800 regardless of the number of people and I likely will have a big group. I talked to Elizabeth Miranda, from the Beach, and she said it would be ok. Let me know if you have other questions as I think I finally have everything fairly organized. Jenn
