I think that if your having an AHR you should invite them to that, a lot of people won't want to travel a huge distance for a wedding unless they are close. Saying that, if you see your workmates outside of work then it is acceptable to invite them but personally I would just invite them all to the AHR instead...much easier!

Good to hear I'm not the only one who has so long in between engagement and the actual wedding! I'm just so excited and can't sit still right now! I don't know how I'm going to wait for two years! How did you girls manage it?! Patience is not good! I also know what you mean about indecisiveness, I'm terrible, I just know I'm going to annoy myself and change everything all the time!

Ok, so just wondering, what was the average time inbetween when you started planning and when your wedding was? I don't think we'll be getting married until 2012 and I don't know what I can actually start planning yet!! I've got a rough idea as to what I want, layouts of the STD and invites, and I've thought about colors. I feel what with it being two years away still that maybe it's a bit too soon? I was also wondering when you would get the best deals/quotes for vendors/venues?

tbh it's your wedding so you should pick what you like! It would probably grow on your parents anyway, so yes, go with what you feel best in!

Wow, you are doing well! We haven't officially even set a date yet and I've designed the main layout of my STD and how i want my invites to look! It's crazy, I don't think we'll have our wedding until May 2012 and it just seems too far away but we want out families to have enough time to save to come over, it wouldn't be the same without them! Good luck with the rest of your planning, for the last seven months you will probably be sitting on your thumbs with nothing left to do!

Hi Caitlin, I've been looking into something like that for a small dinner party too...don't know how these will help but Star of Honolulu - they tend to do cruises for over 30 people, i don't know how willing they would be to accommodate less and they are also quite expensive even for the 3 star option I have been looking into Tiki's Grill and Bar, its totally different and from reviews I have read of them they are really accommodating to requests. You could also look into something in a hotel, I've looked at hiring the Rainbow patio at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, it isn't too expensive. Have you also looked into having an outdoor luau?

Hmm, that's slightly what I have been worrying about, I don't want my wedding day ruined by having any uninvited spectators or anything! Any thing I've seen to do with the chapel just looks so beautiful from the outside and any pictures I have seen have been amazing. I suppose I'll just have to weigh up all my options, it's not all as easy as I thought it was going to be! I've also got to think of getting all my family and friends over...some are going to have a slightly tighter budget...I would hate not being able to have a DW, I've always seen myself getting married somewhere warm (definitely not in the UK then haha) with somewhere with sandy beaches for wedding photos. I think my partner and I will be arranging a holiday out to Oahu shortly to have a wee scout around, I think we have also decided on our date being in May 2012 sometime! Thanks for your help girls!

Hi everyone, my fiance and I have been trawling through the web trying to find some venue we really really like! I've finally found one, the ocean crystal chapel within the grounds of the Hilton Hawaiian Village, I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this venue, I'm a bit apprehensive about booking this, it is such a big resort and the chapel looks quite big from the pictures I've seen. I will probably be having a small wedding party, what with the fact we would be flying from Scotland! If anyone also knows about any small places around this area where a reception for about 20 people could be held, you would really be helping! , thanks!!
