Okay I have a few minutes now to give some details! Everything was smooth from the get-go when we arrived at GPPC we were told we'd been upgraded to the Royal Suites. It was amazing, and I would definately recommend the upgrade even if you have to pay - it's worth it and offered privacy from the guests. We were upgraded because it's low season right now. The suite was amazing for pictures and the maids did a great job with flower petals and curtain arrangements, it looked nice in the pictures. I was also able to order a bottle of champagne the night before to be delivered while I was getting my hair done. It was great to come back to a cold bottle of champagne on ice to have while getting ready. I was really impressed with the gazebo set up - it looked great. The cart picks you up and takes you over to the ceremony area, and it was nice because no one could see me standing at the end. When the music started my MOH walked first, then my mom and nephew. I did not have a song for them as I completely forgot (haha) so I told Carolina WHILE we were at the end waiting to walk down and she was like "no problem, I have one -- when it starts start walking" haha. So they walked, then they quickly switched to the one I brought for me. As I said, it was nice because no one could see me until I came around the corner through the arch. This was really appreciated because I saw two weddings at Dreams Palm Beach and the gazebo is right next to the pool and the bride has to walk through the lobby in front of all the people, and everyone can see her the whole time. It's nice to have that extra bit of privacy. Our first day we went to meet with Carolina and she was perfect - we picked our flowers, cake and colors. I went with green and afterwards I wasn't so sure, but seeing it in the pictures now I am very happy! We chose the caprese salad and beef medallions for the menu (I don't eat beef so they gave me the chicken thing, and as commented before it wasn't that great lol). Everyone loved the meal. Carolina did a great job of decorating the table at La Uva and there was no one else in the restaurant (another benefit of low season) so it was like a private dinner. After the ceremony we had champagne and took pictures. We had made a CD to play during the champagne so that was good for when we left to go do pictures on the beach. Our ceremony was at 5 - and it led perfectly into dinner which was at 7. We stayed there until 10 and then headed to the lobby for some drinks/ We hired HDC photography and they were amazing. Milan came to take pictures of both the ceremony and the TTD at Dreams Palm Beach over our honeymoon. I love the pictures and would recommend working with HDC. Whew -- I have to think about more, but feel free to ask questions. I've also posted pics on facebook so pm me if you want to see them!

Just an update -- I have to catch up once I'm officially back in Ontario BUT the wedding was amazzzzing! Absolutely amazing, and HDC is golden. SO happy we went with them. I will update details soon! We weer supposed to leave last night but our flight has been delayed for like 18 hours and so they sent us to Dreams La Romana to sleep! Also -- we were upgraded to the Royal Suites -- I would definately recommend!! It was fantastic...and Carolina also. And, I've since seen two other resort wedding locations (Dreams Palm Beach and Dreams La Ramana) and was not impressed at all -- GPPC is the way to go!!

Okay thanks for the tips!! I opted not to do it, just did my own french manicure like I always do! my nails look so nice though! We are all packed -- bags by the door!! just wanted to thank all you past brides for all your patience, tips and reviews!! It's been amazing and calmed my nerves plenty. I don't know how I would have made it without hearing feedback, so thank you!! I will be back in 2 weeks with pictures and information! Thanks again!!!!

freak nails! what are they? lol...acrylics? I'm so confused. My nails are long now so that's why I was debating. Plus it's going to be 55 to get the acryic and the french tips!! AND that money would be better spent somewhere else right now!!!! but what are freak nails lol?

I went through this too a few months ago!! But since our legal day I have been so happy, it's a great feeling to know you are married!! next week is our wedding ceremony and I'm just looking forward to that! It goes away -- don't worry!

Thanks!!! I decided on the first one!! We just finished our music for the ceremony! I can't believe we leave tomorrow!!! It feels like last week that I wrote "I leave in 6 weeks!! actually 7 haha" It flew!! It's calls for thundershowers all week, but oh well! I just want to be there! I'm nervous about the flight, and we aren't fully packed yet - so that's today! I was supposed to get my nails done - acrylic today, but I'm having second thoughts. How much did you pay for them Carribbeanlover? I'm worried about the nail damage, and that they will look fake. Hmm I don't know what to do. haha sorry, I think out loud a lot on here lately! lots to thikn about!

I leave in 2 days and I can't decide on a father daughter song. My dad and I are SUPER close and I'm a daddy's girl to the bones. I've got it narrowed down to 3. 1) Al Martino - Daddy's Little Girl (great song and says daddy's little girl.!) 2) Frank Sinatra - The Way you Look Tonight (amazing song, but nothing about dads/daughters) 3) Louis Armstrong - What a Wonderful World (another amazing song that I get teary listening to) the last 2 I love because they are ones I hear randomly and I think that's nice. The first one is the only one that mentions dads/daughters which makes it special for the dance, but I won't hear it often.

I'm not sure what I had done -- there were no strips. She just smeared a hot wax on me, let it cool and then ripped that off. I am certain that the experience was bad because of her though haha...because she would try to rip it off and it wasn't cool yet, then she would say "oh I have to wait" then try again, and it was pulling the skin because it wasn't cool enough and attached just to the hair. But I'm not sure what type of wax it was....can anyone guess?

SO! I just got back from my first brazilian wax -- well it was a modified one (only the front) and it was just as brutal as I imagined. haha, I'm a baby though -- but I give you girls major credit who get that done all the time. I took tylenol before I went, but it was still SO painful during. Afterwards I was fine, no pain, no redness no bumps -- but the during was it for me! I'm sure the benefits will be worth it - but I won't be doing it again! lol

I confess that I am secretly angry that my sister is unintentionally ruining my Wedding...even though I cannot be angry because she has schizophrenia and is having a relapse right now. I confess that this is completely selfish of me, but her behavior and aggression is making it hard for me to remember she does not have control. whew - that felt good (and made me seem very unappreciative of the situation, but her behavior has been horrible to my family and it's been a bad few weeks)
