Just a check in!! I found a carry-on bag today -- white, big and steve madden!! I love getting good deals! I'm pretty well set now. Def not taking the job - wasn't even a question about it, I was more insulted than anything...lol, still jobless but I have an interview tomorrow at 9:30 so fingers crossed about that!! I'll let you all know how it goes! Fingers crossed for me that it is legitimate and decent money!! How is everyone's day??

Sounds like it's all coming together nicely!! I went shopping today with my mom and I finally found a carry on! I love it -- it's big, white and Steve Madden! Has anyone seen those sand-frames? It has space for a picture and then you fill in the space with sand - I want to find one so I can bring back Punta Cana sand and put a wedding picture in it. I can't find them anywhere (they are differnt than sand ceremony kits).

lol oh Edmonton!!!! that sucks I probabaly still will be lounging in the pool!! haha knowing me = then I'll jump out in a panic and run around like a chicken with my head cut off (haha story of my life) SIDE NOTE - and very needed rant. I just finished grad school for teachers college, so now I have two degrees (Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education) SO I am desperate for a job because schools don't hire until the summer for next year, so I've been applying everywhere. I put out this ad for child care, and a lady contacted me saying she has two kids and pays well above average and needs child care for the summer. I was like...cool, I'll hang out with them, do crafts/activities, take them to tbe beach etc...it'd be a fun, laid back job. So we just spoke on the phone and she told me she pays 1600 TOTAL for the whole summer....UMMMMM once I got off the phone with her FI figured it out and it works out to 4.80/hour. ARE YOU KIDDING ME>!>!?!?!!>!>!>!>~>!!>!> that is soo not above average, the least I've made is 13.00 for the same thing. Ridiculous. I just emailed her and bailed. I'm 24 and have two degrees, she needs to hire a 12 year old girl to do that crap! lol rant over...thanks. lol FML.

Wow!!! that is not cool -- on everyone's part (but yours and your mom). Anyone who didn't book until 3 days before, has no say in how you do things and shouldn't comment on you being stressed (even if you were). Bridesmaids are a pain lol..I'm over it. But I completely agree with you being upset that she was on the man hunt -- not appropriate for the event!! That sucks about your MOH though, and your mom-- some feelings never die I guess.! Wow, I guess I should expect more drama -- well at least prepare because it's bound to happen with so many different people who don't know each other. I'm not close to FI's family at all, so that should be interesting. They don't like me because we moved in together before marriage, lol... anyways, I'm sure I will be the same on the day of the wedding -- a bundle of nerves. I hope I can eat though!!!! I'll need to

hahahaah I can't wait. Our travel agent is doing it for free since it's my FI's friends mom, otherwise I wouldn't be using one. What kind of drama did you deal with? Did you really have to tend to those guests, I guess I have it in my head that everyone will want to do their own thing, and I keep wondering why my mom is stressed about having to entertain everyone. So I'd love to hear how it went and what you had to do (entertaining, or feeling like you had to) haha this is from me, the girl who swears she will be in the pool up until an hour before the ceremony! lol..am I in for a rude awakening?

Yay!! 27 days - amazing. Our legal day is on June 3 - nobody knows except my parents who will be our witnesses. It will be completely low key, I'm hoping we can just sign the papers and go out for lunch! nothing big! Then we leave on June 22 for 2 weeks!! Our wedding is on the last day before the guests leave (2 and we move to another resort for our honeymoon!! I'm so excited. I have my dress, FI's suit, rings, clothes, photographer booked. I'm not bringing anything wedding related (decorations etc.) Our favors arrived last week (mugs/bags) and all I have to do now is get FI to compile our music for the ceremony and dinner (he's a DJ, so that's his task). I'm still on the hunt for honeymoon clothes, I want white shorts, dresses and halter tops! Is anyone else getting married in Punta Cana in June?

hahah great idea!! how did you give it to them, I would probably be awkward and it would be obvious I wanted special treatment! lol I just have one of those huge bridal garment bags that I'm carrying it in and will just hold it on my lap if I have to!

Amen about ignoring other people - so far we have had 8 people make excuses to not come and then go on other trips to punta cana -- yeah that's right, not even another location (same one!!!!!!!). We've also had people book and then have to back out (4 to be exact). I would not do the group booking again, but that's because my travel agent has caused me the MOST stress of all -- I won't even get into that topic. If I could do it all over again, I would only ask parents, siblings and a few select friends. Too many heartbreaks throughout the process by trying to extend the invitation to others... wow, sorry to sound negative, but that's been a sore subject for me. Tracy -- ummmm...how did you lose your wedding underwear? hahahahaaha

I agree with everyone else -- it is your wedding! When I first came on this site, I read what the other brides wrote about "People will not want to come, they will make excuses etc"...but it never really hit until it started happening. Don't take it personally, even when it's hard -- just look out for you both and keep your chin up! We aren't registering anywhere either, or having parties or anything. We wanted something lowkey, and as I am not close with my extended family, I told them we were inviting immediate family only - and it was fine. When is your wedding?

Yes!!! I have them -- thankfully they have stopped the last few weeks, although I do find them funny and enjoying telling them to my FI lol. In one we were at the airport, I was wearing jeans and a sweater and my FI was carrying my carry-on bag. He said "are you ready to go to our wedding?" and I looked down at my clothes and was like "nooo" but we were boarding the plane. I tried to explain to him that I had not packed and didn't have anything (not even my dress) but he just kept saying it was okay, that he packed for me. So I calmed down but when I opened my carry-on it was empty!! lol He didn't pack for me!! and I was thinking about how I would have to spend the whole 2 weeks in Punta Cana wearing jeans and a sweater. I've also had dreams about being rushed, not ready - bad hair day etc. lol

Thanks for the info!! I love hearing the stories from the plane to the honeymoon! I could read for days lol. SO glad they foudn the ring, I would have been freaking out!!! That was really nice that they searched and called that man! Lucky you! What time was your ceremony at? Is the lobby big enough to have guests go back to after dinner? We decided not to have the beach party -- so I'm hoping we can go to either the lobby or hemingways - which do you prefer?

Thanks! I just bought some mascara, but realized it wasn't waterproof after. So I went and saw that L'Oreal was on sale - ew, I know why it was horrible. It's waterproof but I felt like my eyelashes would never come off. So I'm back to square one, and need to get waterproof everything for next month. Also - what are you girls wearing on your lips? I want some sort of color, but I don't normally wear lipstick so I don't know what is good and will stay (I'm not sure how to reapply without having FH carry it in his pocket lol). Any tips?
