  1. I had to re-read all of the tips now that I am 5 weeks away from flying! I went to see a counsellor twice, and she gave me breathing tips to do - but it actually just helped to talk to her about it. Once you say things out loud, you can naturally talk yourself out of them. I'm not sure how I will be on the flight, but I do plan on taking pills for anti-anxiety and I am also hoping that having everyone around me will be a distraction. Has anyone flown since reading this thread?
  2. omggg!!! I can't even imagine -- that is SO something my FMIL would do! Thankfully, my mom would never!
  3. Well no - I have him for 2 hours the day of the ceremony and 1 hour for the TTD a few days later. He said it would be enough time (25-30 min for getting ready) 20 min for ceremony, and then the remaining 1 hour, 10 minutes for dances/group photos etc...depending on the order I do them in!
  4. I think a surprise trip is a fantastic idea! I have always wanted my fiance/husband to book a trip all on his own, contact my place of employment and just surprise me with the tickets!!!! Note though -- my dad surprised my mom, and while she was VERY happy she felt she didn't have a lot of time to prepare/get excited (he told her the day before), so give a bit of time before so she can research places to go and have an input in the itinerary!! If it doesn't happen, jewelery is also fantastic, and customary! Let us know what you decide!
  5. Wow -- can we start packing yet? I find Wedding stuff gathering all over my apartment, and I just want to be on the beach right now! What sort of esthetic things are you going before you go? I booked a nail appointment, and I'm debating getting some waxing done. But I should also re-dye my hair. Lots of logistics to worry about! Are you all excited?
  6. Wow!! I love that pic of you both - great dress! I go back and forth about the order of our pictures, because I was going to do first dances/cake cutting etc -- but my mom said group pictures are important to have too. I may need to just book another hour. We customized a package with HDC, so our package is less $$, but 3 hours split into 2 days. I'm wondering how much it would be to add another 30 minutes or so the day of the ceremony if we need it. Tracy, how long was your TTD? Did you feel it was too much/enough time?
  7. dislike (it means my Birthday has just passed) Biggest loser?
  8. Way to go Natasha on the 10km -- you will rock it!! I wish I could do that -- I stick to stairs, I'm not a fan of running. But I've always wanted to do a marathon lol. You girls are doing awesome!! I love checking in and seeing the progress you're all making! I hit a bump a few weeks ago because we've been working out hardcore since January, so by April I was done...and I still had 2 months to go! I was justifying everything. But I am back on track -- and it seems all of you ladies are also! Congrats! Those of us who have Weddings coming up -- do you also find it funny that we're working so hard to lose weight, but most of us are going to an all inclusive!...I don't know about you, but I know my hard work will be out the window by the second day! lol
  9. Wooo!! congratulations!!! You must be so excited knowing that you will be on a beach with a drink in your hand in less than 2 days! I'm happy for you!! I feel like a completeeee noob but I am still confused about the nails. I called the salon and asked if they did "opi axxium gel nails" and she said yes and told me all about it. So I've booked that -- but after reading what you had done today...are gel nails and opi axxium different? I am getting complete "fake nails" on - I'm not keeping my own and covering them with that lacquer stuff (under the heat lamp). I was quoted about 40 - but I'm just confused about what the difference is.
  10. I booked an appointment for the day before we leave! I'm also looking into a brazilian -- but I'm terrified. Has anyone done sugaring? or sugar waxing?
  11. I am going the day before I leave because we will be in Punta Cana for 2 weeks so I want to make sure it lasts the whole time!
  12. No it wouldn't be bitchy -- but I would be firm with them and call them to make sure they are 100% in - have they booked yet? Luckily dresses are still out, cute spring ones so you should be fine. But I would just confront them (politely but firm) and say that you need to know for sure so you can go out and buy their outfits -- and you need the sizes. Unfortuantely, sometimes people don't understand the pressure of organizing a destination wedding, and making sure everything is ready to go. I would confirm they have booked before I do anything though.
  13. Agreed -- you have to decide if you need the drama. I mean, I've had a few "good" friends back out and given me NO reason. So, the fact that she admitted it was immature and her own personal feelings, it's a step in the right direction. Now you just need to determine if you think she can actually put the feelings aside and be there for you on your day. Ultimately, it is up to you -- don't feel pressured into anything! Good luck!
  14. I'm looking into sugaring? (or sugar waxing). I've NEVER waxed anything, but I shave down there consistently. I'm willing to try it I think-- but I'm curious as to the difference between sugar waxing and regular waxing. How long does it last? I will be gone for 2 weeks -- will I need to shave? I'm thinking of legs and a brazilian. I'd love any tips -- I'm nervous and not sure if I'm going to do it! But I'd love to be smooth and carefree while I'm on my wedding/honeymoon!!!
