I'll have to see someone in the next days to see how much it would cost to fix. In addition, the neckline is not exactly what I would like (this is not so bad, but added to the rest...). I knew I was taking a risk, but still... Was expecting to post nice pics tonight! I am so sorry that it turned out like that. Hope you can fix it. would be great if you would share some pictures and tell us who you ordered from. My dress from gianinarbridal should be done in 3-4 weeks. After your post I am kinda worried now. I HAVE to like mine. My fiancé will probably kill me if not because I convinced him for months of the idea to order a knock-off... jk, he is the loveliest person I know, but still... He always said I should play safe and go with a dress from a store even if I dont find the "perfect one"... I think I just hate to hear the sentence: "I told you" :-D

Here's the dress it was based on Rosa Clara - Clark Rosa clara clark image by KSTrillian on Photobucket I didn't order the highest quality, just standard quality and it actually surprised me how decent the quality is. It's fully lined and boned as well which I love! The material is comfortable and I'm very happy with the dress. I didn't expect it to be perfect but the stitching and hems are all straight, the craftsmanship is actually quite good. I would definitely recommend Duosheng, I'm thoroughly satisfied with my choice and the length is perfect! They had me re-take measurements quite a few times to make sure they were accurate, I'm very glad they took such good care in doing so I am glad to hear that. I mean, the dress I ordered will be my main dress, so I really hope that the quality is decent too... same thing with me, they came back to me twice and asked me more details to make sure they understood exactly what I want. lets hope the best... also a picture test... hihi... wanna see if my registration on photobucket worked...
  3. Hihi... your pictures are great... looks like you had lots of fun... I love that dress... is it your own flower or was it part of that dress? what do you think about the quality? are you satisfied?
  4. oh by the way: how can I post pictures directly into my comments? I dont like this link thing...

I got an email from gianinarbridal today, they will start my dress tomorrow... thats so exciting... I will also order 3 bridesmaids dresses from them... they made me a great offer and all my bridesmaids are so happy about it...

I have talked to the new spa rep via email and just waiting to book our hair and pedi's when i hear back! i am def goign to book it before we get there. i'll tell him to put it in his books! hahah Julia, we have 47 booked! it's going to be so fun i cannot wait! try doing a search on Jan's, there is lots of talk about them, but like Christina said, most brides stop posting after their wedding...so hopefully you can find some info. I actually decided against ordering extra flowers other than flower girl flowers. But Tai is actually doing them for way cheaper than i thought now, so that is good. i bought parasols and fans for uber cheap for the BMs and moms instead. Beverly is getting on my nervous! hahah she never responds anymore. argh! so i'll just leave it for another couple weeks and then i'm going to call her. last time i called another WC there said she'd be back in 15 mins. so i called back in 20 and she wasn't there so the WC helped me and said she'd reply to the email i've been waiting so long on. Julia i also heard one other girl got her steel drum band for free! i wonder how we can snake some freebies too! hehehe I can't believe i'm just 25 days away until we leave! I really wish there were some past brides that got married here. i haven't seen any pics or anything even on trip advisor...just the odd one from someone who went to a friends wedding there. wow kerrij, it must be so exciting to know that its only 25 days away :-) and yeah its so hard to find more information and especially pictures about GBPJ. even that one review on tripadvisor has only one picture of the bridal bouquet... thats it?!?!? If I would have my wedding pictures done I would post them everywhere and tell everyone how it went... I mean why else would you take so beautiful pictures if you dont show them? I wish you all the best kerrij... hope you´ll let us know about your experience...
  7. Hi Andim, no worries, they will get back to you. I sent out an email too last week and I even transferred the deposit for my dress but I didnt get a confirmation from them yet. I hope they will respond by the beginning of next week. Have a great week

But I never really like off white dresses on me because they didn't compliment my skin tone. My fiance threw a fit about it not being "white" (hasn't seen it though) but I really don't think you can tell in the pictures. And i'm sure once i'm out in the bright sunlight you definitely won't be able to tell. Still, I won't have that off white clash against my skin! I ordered a veil online and there was no light ivory option so I just ordered ivory. I think because of the transparent-ness of a veil you can't really notice that the dress isn't full on ivory like the veil. thats so awesome I got an answer back from gianinarbridal offering me the possibility to use a type of satin which is 100% polyester and therefore not so heavy. they said that its basically just a little thinner but it has the same look as the heavy satin. and the best thing about it is, I get it for $150. DECISION MADE I will go with ivory as well. I think it just makes your skin tone look nicer. and a big advantage is also that if you dont have those crazy bleachy-white teeth the contrast wont be that crazy in pictures and your teeth wont look yellowish. kjt, I think your dress color is beautiful. and your husband wont see the difference. I hope he wont wear a white suit though ;-)
  9. wow, its absolutely beautiful and exactly the "shine-level" I want thank you so much for posting those pictures. it helps me a lot. I think I will go with the cheaper one. just to make sure: your dress is also from gianinarbridal, right? what color did you choose?
  10. thanks for your help, kjt. would you say that the polyester taffeta looks shiny or is it more matt-looking? my only concern is that the fabric could look cheap in comparison to satin which always looks more fancy and elegant. but I agree with you that it is a little too much to spend more than double of the price to go with the silk taffeta.
  11. Hi girls, yippiiieeh.... I just got an offer from gianinarbridal. they will make my dream dress... it is a combination of a bonny (nr. 853) and maggie dress (fiorella). they gave me two fabric options with different prices. now I am confused. one is polyester taffeta ($150) and the other is silk taffeta ($350). seems like the silk taffeta has a better quality?! I dont know what to order... I prefer something that looks similar to satin but is not so heavy. does anybody know the difference between those two taffeta types or is there any other fabric that looks satin-like I dont know about? I also have to say that I am really impressed by their quick and nice response and their service. I will definitely post some pictures as soon as I get them.
  12. you girls are doing a real good job with all the information you provide... I will definitely get a knock-off dress too... so does gianinarbridal accept orders outside of ebay too? can I just send them pictures and tell them what I want and they do it?
  13. @ kerrij: thank you for all the information. I hope you will provide more information after your wedding. most brides stop posting in this forum after they get married :-( I like the fact with the few weddings at gbpj too... it is crazy though how different the resorts handle all the wedding stuff... for example at half moon they wanted $500 for each outside vendor, the ritz carlton just didnt allow any, etc... oh by the way... we might be flying down to jamaica around the beginning of march to see the resort... maybe I will see your wedding kerrij, thats so funny...
  14. @ kerrij: are you allowed to choose other vendors for flowers/decoration/photos than they offer? dont you have to pay fees if you bring outside vendors? does jan´s flowers have a website too? does beverly really organize all the decoration stuff? I am a little worried that everything is a little unorganized with this resort
  15. Hi Rani, I dont think it is a problem to provide this deposit form to her. we did that too (twice actually) and they still didnt charge our credit card (its been 3 months now). I think its more a security thing that you are serious about your wedding date. dont you think that as well as you want to make sure they reserve your date, they want to make sure that you dont change your mind? I wouldnt worry so much. Most other resorts want much higher deposits (like half moon, jamaica wanted $8000) thats why we were really glad to hear that Beverly only wanted 25% of the chosen wedding package when we finally chose the GBPJ. But like I said, we are more worried about the fact that even though we provided her the form they still didnt charge our credit card for the deposit...
  16. oh thank you so much for your answer. I am really relieved now... yeah probably you are right, it is the high season at the moment so she could just be busy... I will just wait, it is still a year for our wedding from now, so there is no rush... just weird that they dont want our money :-D normally this is the first thing companies take :-) so how many of your guests have booked their rooms yet? I will be so excited to see the first person booking... cant wait... so have fun with the further planning.. wish you a great week
  17. Hi Jules, so did you get anything from Beverly yet? It is weird I didnt hear anything from her either so far... They still didnt charge our credit card either... I am afraid that she isnt working there anymore.. Let me know if you have any news.. Cheers, Chrissy
