  1. Thanks for your great review! Everything looked beautiful.

After my mishap with a cancelled wedding (rebooked for an earlier time, luckily) I have been working directly with Zulma and her assistant Michelle. They have been AMAZING!!! I have had no trouble with emails and am immediately connected with Zulma when I call. They tell me how their goal is to make me as happy as possible. I am sooo happy with them!! They even gave me a free cocktail hour and discount on my vendor fee for the inconvenience of now having four hours in between my ceremony and reception. I'm not sure why some of you have had trouble with communication with them. Do you have TA's that can help the process? I have always reached them in the morning before weddings have started. I have noticed that Michele sometimes will not answer an email if a response is not needed. Keep in mind that during this season they can have up to seven weddings a day! All in all I think that Zulma will make sure that everyone has their perfect wedding! I hope this helps -Lynds Thanks for that information, it is nice to know that the communication can/should get better and all will go well.
  3. I will take the totes if your sales don't go through. Thanks! Ashley
  4. LynnieS, I just noticed that you are also from Omaha and getting married on May 14th! I am getting married on the 16th, so we will be there at the same time. Have you been planning your wedding for a long time? We just got engaged over Thanksgiving so I'm still trying to get everything picked.

  6. I forgot to ask in my earlier post, could you us what meal options you went with? Were they good? I'm trying to set my menu and find it so hard without trying them.
  7. I have my wedding location booked, but the reception says TBD on my checklist. I asked her last week and she said we could change our wedding location if we changed our mind. Now I'm a little concerned. I have an email in to my WC (Suzanna) right now to find out for sure. I am pretty sure we will stick with the gazebo but I really hope the beach reception is still available!
  8. Congratulations on your wedding! You review helps a lot. I am also using Enchanted Honeymoons in Omaha, but you have me a little worried now. Everything has gone smoothly thus far though, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks again!

I talked to my shipping coordinator here at work and she said she sends packages to Mexico a lot through work. She said that if you fill out the correct paperwork for customs and detail how much everything in the box is worth then you shouldn't have any problems. I have lik 40lbs in towels here that I just can not bring in a suitcase, so I have no choice. I also want to ship my centerpieces since they are glass and fragile. I'm going to do it anyway and hope for the best. They did say to send everything a month early as long as you contact the wedding coordinator and they know it is coming. Thank you for this information. I am also planning on shipping stuff for my OOT bags and decorations. As bad as it may be to ship stuff, it still has to be better than trying to get through customs in person with bags and bags of stuff. I'm hoping anyway! I see you are getting married the day before me. Where are you having your wedding/reception? I am planning on the gazebo for the wedding and the beach for the reception...but a little undecided on both.

I was lucky to be in Playa del Carmen last week for another wedding and visited the Royal a couple of times while there. We saw two weddings on the beach on Friday afternoon. After that I decided that I definitely didn't want to have my wedding on the beach. There were A LOT of onlookers, some pretty close and I'm sure they ended up in the wedding photos of the ceremony. The hotel staff do not put up ropes and since the beach is public they can't even ask people to move away. I can email you some of the pictures I took if you give me your email address. I tried to attach them to this post, but they're too big. Thank you so much for the feedback! I would love if you could send me some pictures. [email protected]. Thanks again!

I don't really have a choice at this point though! Can I ask why she recommended that you not do it? I was seriously planning on doing the same thing!

They will charge you an arm and leg if you let them do the decorations so it is the best to bring your own decorations so they can put them up free of charge. Oh wow, thanks for letting me know that! Are the plain chair covers included with a package or do I need to pay extra for those?

I don't want to see somebody in a bikini in the background of me saying my vows. If they can be kept further away though, then I would be all for the beach. How do you choose the decorations for a beach ceremony? Are they all the circle of flowers on the ground, or are there other options? Thanks for your help!

  15. I love these! I hadn't thought of sending out a pre-packet to my guests. I will have to add this to my to-do list!
  16. I was also wondering if anyone is getting married on the beach? I see so many talk about getting married in the gazebo, just curious about the beach. My fiance doesn't know why we would go to Mexico to get married if we aren't standing in the sand. Is it a privacy preference that people tend to use the gazebo more? Thanks!
  17. I am also debating between Cecilia Dumas. I still get the $100 outside vendor fee rather than the new one since I booked by wedding before December 8 when the rates changed. It's not that much more to go with Cecilia, so I think that is probably what I am going to do. Does anyone know if the resorts' photographer will go around town with us and take pictures? Those are some of my favorite pictures. Thanks!
  18. Glad to hear they offer tres leches. I couldn't believe it when she said she didn't know and hadn't even heard of it before. I studied abroad in Mexico for a semester in college and fell in love with tres leches, I would love to have it served at my wedding.
  19. Has anyone used the resort photography? I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth the cost to bring in an outside photographer. Any insight would be great! Thanks. Ashley

  21. Just to make sure I'm not imagining things, are some of you having tres leches cakes? My WC sent me the cake options and it is not included. When I called and asked her if it was an option she said she didn't know what it was. I spelled it to her so she could write it down and ask, but she said she wasn't familiar with Mexico really and hadn't ever heard of it. I would really like tres leches if it is actually a possibility. Thanks!
