Majestic Colonial Info
KJ Shea replied to brendali.caban's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
Hey Ladies, We are getting married at 3pm at the Chapel and our dinner is not until 7pm. Is anyone hosting a cocktail hour before the restaurant dinner and reception? We would really like to meet our guests somewhere for drinks after pictures and before dinner. Any suggestions? Thanks, Kimberly -

I actually understand that it costs $175 to have the cigar rollers. My FI is so excited about that. He loves cigars on vacation. -

Majestic Colonial Gazebo set-up??
KJ Shea replied to nicoleswrld's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
Jessica, We also think we might have a large number of guests. How are you planning your reception for everyone. And I wonder about the Gazebo as well. Please let me know if you find anything out. I am not getting married until November so we have some time to go. -
Majestic Colonial Gazebo set-up??
KJ Shea replied to nicoleswrld's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
Does anyone know if you need an entire set of chari sashes for the ceromony and a seperate one for the reception? Or do they bring them over to the reception site? -
Hi, Is anyone sending passport covers and luggage tags to your guests before you leave? I am wondering where you found them. All of the one that I have found are super expensive or need to be ordered 250 at a time. Thanks, Kimberly

FMIL walking FI down the aisle??
KJ Shea replied to Jo 2010's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I love the idea of my FI walking down the aisle with his mom. I think she would be really touched. I have to ask him if he would want to do that at our Wedding. My dad passed away so I am walking down with my mom as well. -
Hi Courtney, I am also really looking at the Majestic Colonial for 2010. I think we have it narrowed down to the MC and the Grand Palladium. My TA is doing some research this week and we should be booked this week!! There is a facebook page for the brides from this resort (majestic colonial brides). And there is a fabulous thread on this forum that has absolutely all of the information that you might need. Let's keep in touch! Kimberly

rude BM or just being helpful?
KJ Shea replied to Billisa's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
As much as I agree with what everyone is saying... i think that you have to really make sure that your FI feels that you understand where he is coming from and that ultimately this wedding is about you and he. He apparently has strong feelings about this and you definitely don't want what someone else is doing (with good intentions or not) to haunt you the whole time you are away together. Or to take away from your special time together. You might need to have a united approch about how you both can be happy and relaxed for your wedding. This way you keep this small stuff from causing any unnecessary stress between the two of you. Good Luck and Have Fun!! -
It just blows me away how everyone just expects that you might have every detail of the wedding confirmed in two weeks. And then they try to "sway" the plans to their likes. I am definitely taking a crash course in setting boundaries these past couple of weeks. I am so fortunate because I have a FI who keeps saying it's our wedding and we are going to do what we want to do. Amen to that!!

Dominican Republic Brides~ POST HERE!
KJ Shea replied to TammyWright's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
Hi, We are getting married in Punta Cana in October or November. We should have a date secured this week. So exciting!! Kimberly -
Hi, Beach Wedding Attire & Dresses, Linen Wedding Pants, Shirts, Guayabera, Hawaiian, Havana, and Linen Suits I just discovered this website and thought it was pretty good. You can order swatches of all of the colors to make sure that the shirts will definitely match the dresses. I havn't ordered anything from them yet but probably will down the road. Kimberly

We are going through the same thing. My FI's brother and his wife just announced that they are pregnant (he is the best man) and they are due in June. Now my own brother and his wife (who are both in the wedding party) are going to start trying for a baby in January. We are getting married in October or November. Ugh. So we are thinking of moving everything back to June but then all of the teachers in our group cannot come. This is crazy.

Hi, Happy Holidays!! Welcome.

Hi, Congratulations. I am between having our wedding in Punta Cana and Playa del Carmen. It is so hard to decide. I personally stayed at the Paradisus a few years ago and it was the most amazing trip.Everything was top notch. Unfortunately we cant get married there because we are Catholic and they do not offer a Catholic Wedding option in Mexico. But it is worth a look. Have fun.

Punta Cana - Catholic Wedding
KJ Shea replied to Gooner's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
Hi, I know that the Majestic Colonial and Majestic Elegance share a chapel and offer a Catholic Wedding option. I am also trying to book a Catholic Wedding and am finding it very difficult so far. Thanks so much for all of the information. -
Dominican Republic Excursions!
KJ Shea replied to cogswellgray's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
Hi, Does anyone have the pricing for La Bacaraza? Also does anyone have pricing for a Catamaran tour? I would love to take our group out for a few hours. But it looks like we might have a large number of people. Do these sails charge for the rental of the whole boat or per person? Thanks. -
Hi Row, Congratulations on your wedding. We are still very new at this. I am so excited that you have pictures of the chapel!! I cannot wait to see them and show them to John. Have you been to the resort? It sounds so amazing. I am thinking about heading down there in January to check it out. I will definitely check out the website and thread you suggested. Thanks, Kimberly

Sunday Weddings in DR?
KJ Shea replied to Soon2bMrsC's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
My FI wants the same day and so far have not had any luck with a Sunday Wedding. But we are also having a Catholic Wedding so we have to work with the priests and chapels. I am also a little bit concerned about rain and hurricanes during October. Have you heard anything about the typical weather inthe fall? Keep me posted if you find anything out and good luck finding exactly what you are looking for. -
Hi, My FI and I are looking for an All-Inclusive Resort that allows children and offers a Catholic Wedding option. The Barcelo Maya Palace seems to have everything that we are looking for. We are wondering if anyone has more information about this wedding location. It seems too good to be true for all that we are hoping for. Any thoughts? Kimberly

My FI and I are hoping to have a Catholic Destination Wedding at an All Inclusive Resort. We will be inviting kids and we definitely have a fun crowd. So we are looking for a resort that can accomodate us and we are having a really hard time. Does anyone have any suggestions? We would really appreciate any advice or suggestions that you might have.
