LOL Kelly!! Of course there wouldnt be anything going on in July I'm thinking its only going to be minor stuff and probably just with signs, etc. the whole month of May & June!

I'm getting married the day before you, I cant see them doing too many renovations. The resort looked great when I was there in January... I think they will do most of their "branding" in the next few months.

Yeah Im thinking it can only be a positive thing - especially since the other resorts they manage have a great reputation. And I'm sure they are going to be trying to please everyone in the first year its open, and thats when we all have our weddings

My TA is with destinationweddings.com - and I believe that since they are so big they get info a lot faster? From what she heard, NOW resorts are taking over. Which I told Kelly isnt a bad thing since they own Secrets, Dreams, etc. I'm just worried about all of my guest that made reservations through Paradisus website in the past few weeks because the rates were so great. Our TA said they will honor it for sure and this might even be better for us to get an overall better rate. We shall see!! Destination weddings are "less stressful" right? ughh

Yeah you are right about that!!! Glad the change is happening now. I cant believe that more people didnt find out about this forum (unless they are just lurking), especially since there are weddings there every weekend.

I heard today from our TA that the Paradisus was bought out by NOW resorts. Take a look at this when you go to their website Paradisus Riviera Cancun

We took the bus there and back which was very convienent... and the bus drivers were always very nice along with the locals and told you where to get off at. I would say a 10 minute bus ride from the hotel zone

Kel - I have a TA but its through Destinationweddings.com and she has not been helpful at all. I am pretty much doing all the work and notifying her when I find cheaper prices for our resort... But anyways... I will check applevacations

FYI the Walmart in Cancun is Great, I was there last May... lots of Cancun/Mexico stuff there.

Hate to tell you - you may have to give me a ball park estimate at some point via PM/email. I am not kidding, I really have no idea! Im still undecided about the whole package/doing everything separate. Random question though - what are you guys doing when you "walk down the aisle" does the DJ play music if you are not hiring a harpist, etc. Now that is confusing to me!! ha

Just venting and hoping airfare from Chicago to Cancun is going to go down eventually! When we sent our save the dates out in January... they were in the mid 350's which I thought was high, now its up to $500ish for non stops. Hoping that they will go down at some point in the summer (our wedding is November) did any of you other brides flying to cancun see the flights fluctuating a lot?

I was in Curacao for a day on a cruise and we got a tour of the whole island and stopped at a beach.. itwas nice but I def. prefer St. Thomas & St. Lucia over it Curacao seems up and coming...

Would love to - we havent even started thinking about how much this wedding is actually going to cost us, plus honeymoon. So glad we are going to vegas next week to get away! After that I'm going to start putting away money for the wedding Or just have Elliot save... hahahaha

If airfare wasnt so high, I def would!! We loved it when we were there in January.... I guess we will be doing everything over the phone with Theresa and when we get there ( we are going down on Tuesday and our wedding is Saturday).
