I haven't picked a definite first dance song yet but I really love Pink's new song, Glitter in the Air.. I think it is so beautiful and the lyrics are great.

This was the one thing I was so bummed about when we decided to have a DW, not being able to rent a photo booth. I've always wanted one at my wedding...I even asked one company if they ever shipped to the caribbean! Ha, they laughed at me! But having it at our AHR is a fabulous idea...thanks!

Since your guests paid so much to come to your wedding, I think it would be more appropriate to pay for the trip and the lunch... Is there any possibility that our resort might be willing to make apacked lunch for your outing? I've read about a few that do that so it might be something to ask about...that way you noone has to pay extra

Welcome and congrats!!! Hawaii is amazing and I'm totally jealous that you are going to get married there! My personal favorite is the Big Island, bc of the islands diversity...rainforests, beaches, mountains..its amazing. And its not touristy like Oahu or Maui. So that being said, its also not the most accessable (ie, public transportation sucks and its appropriately named bc it is a BIG island!). There really isn't any nightlife on the Big Island and you are limited to beach front resorts. Try looking along the Kohala Coast (North Kona) for the best beach front resorts. Oahu is nice, def the easiest to get around if you dont want to rent a car and it is prob the island where you will pay the least bc it is super touristy, in particular the Waikiki area in Honolulu. Not my personal favorite bc I think there are much better places to go to see the islands beauty than Waikiki. But its still Hawaii! Maui is beautiful and I'm pretty sure it is where most ppl have plan their weddings. The beach-front resorts, while fabulous, can be pricey. One thing to note is that all of Hawaii's beaches are public so you might find it difficult to find a resort that lets you have a totally private beach wedding ceremony. Some of the beach front resorts in Maui might be different since they host the majority of the weddings. When you say accomodations for your guests, I take it you guys are planning on paying for their hotel stays? That might not be done for 5k however, there are a lot of vacation rentals around the islands that you might be able to make it work. There are many places, esp in Kauai that are 5+ bedrooms and even allow you to have your wedding at the rental. Check out VRBO.com and type in weddings..you'll get results from all over the place but a lot of them will be from Hawaii. Congrats and welcome! Just to let you know you know, some resorts will not hold your date or make any group bookings until about a year before your wedding.. I'm running into that and I'm getting married in July 2011..its frustrating! But this site is great and you'll find tons of info on here that will help you pick your dream resort!! Welcome to the forum and CONGRATS! I loved the weeks right after getting engaged, it was so exciting telling everyone about it and showing off the new bling!! Good luck with all your planning, there is tons of info on the site. It can be a little overwhelming so I would read the FAQs for newbies, its very helpful. Also once you pick a few resorts you are interested in, search for reviews from other brides who were married at those resorts...its really helpful having their insite!

here are a few things I think my guy friends would like (mid-20's guys who get bored easily) --deck of cards --dice --ping pong balls (drinking games!) --frisbees --squirt guns --manley magazine, like espn, gq, rolling stone..depending on the guy --condoms? (lol gotta be safe!!) --fun guys beach hats or sunglasses ok thats all I can think of for now, if I come up with anything else I'll let you know!
