  1. Great thread. I know we all wonder about this kind of stuff. Question ... do you tip each individual waiter I suppose and how do you know the percentage if it comes in a package? % of total package? AI make it so much for difficult. I am with Randi, do you really need to tip the officiant if you are just meeting them and they are only there for 30 minutes??
  2. What do you mean deposits go to Miami? I just filled out the paperwork Perla sent me and put my credit card info on that and that was it. I hope our date is still secured. We are about to send out our STDs!
  3. I got them too!! They are great and such a good buy for $1!!
  4. I'm sending her an email today ... I'll keep you all posted! Are any of you guys thinking about putting together some kind of group excursion? I want to but am afraid of the cost. Do we pay for that? I stayed at the Paradisus Palma Real in PC and they offered snorkeling trips included ... I wonder if they'll do the same.
  5. SMB - that's so exciting! Can't wait to hear all about it. As far as bags go, I believe it's $4 a bag to be put in the rooms. I'm planning on just having them set up on a table at the welcome/rehearsal dinner and give them out then.
  6. I love this thread! Etsy seems to be the way to go. Does anyone have an opinion on sizes?
  7. I like the starfish necklace idea too! What time is everyone having their ceremonies at? Mine is set for 4. I'm nervous though about having dinner start at 5:30 ... seems early. Anyone doing a longer cocktail hour? Do you know how much that is?
  8. I have 10 total ... yikes!! I decided that prior to deciding on a destination wedding ... what was I thinking!! I really have no idea right now ... I can really only spend around $50pp ... not sure what I can get for that that would be nice. The guys will probably get monogrammed flasks.
  9. I thought about the towels too but since the hotel provides towels, I thought it would be too much to take down and more for people to pack home. I love the idea though! I'm thinking about a koozie, some kind of spanish for dummies, beach ball or float, sunscreen, chapstick, advil or tums, and maybe a shot glass. I'm trying to think of things that will fit in a small bag (cost reasons) and that won't break (that's why it's a maybe on the shot glasses) and that I can stuff in a suitcase. Not sure what else. There's a thread on here too about OOT bags. I'm looking through it now. What about bridal party gifts, what are you doing? I'm on a tight budget as is so I can't do anything over the top.
  10. I'm getting married in Mexico in October and am looking for purple items, preferably darker purple. Also, looking for flower hair pins/combs. Thanks!
  11. For every person after your first 20, it's $99 if you go with the Aqua package. I know, it's crazy and my FI is having a hard time with it but I just keep telling him that it is half the cost of what it would be to have a wedding here. What I have been told is that even though it is an all inclusive, it is a private event so they have to have staff just for your party and food made just for your party, etc. Still seems crazy but what are you going to do. I had a meeting planner from my office tell me that she had done events at all inclusive resort before for corporate functions and has never had to pay extra. I threw out that questions to Perla with no response. Kelie - Did you come up with any ideas for OOT bags? I've found a lot of good suggestions and vendors on the Bride Referral page on here. I also found the sashes I want to bring. I'm wondering if I need to email Cecilia just to confirm we are on the same page with Perla leaving and all.
  12. Anybody thinking of bringing their own chair sashes and table runners/overlays? What they want to charge seems outrageous!
  13. Sarah, are there other people that do hair besides Vicky? What if my bridal party also want their hair done?
  14. We've decided to bring our own photographer as well. Found it to be cheaper and you get them for longer if you can find one that will cut you a deal. Kelly, what package are you going with? I'm still debating that.

Just thinking about introductions, speeches, etc. Thanks!
  16. Need some advice on ceremony time. We are getting married in mid October and everything I find online says sun goes down around 6:20 so my initial thought was a 4:30 ceremony, cocktail hour from 5-6 and reception 6-9 but Perla told me I should do 3:30 or 4 ... seems early to me and I don't want to have dinner at 5 either. Any thoughts? Also, anyone changing hotels after for their honeymoon? I know its super early for me to think about but when we book our travel we want to book it all together. Thinking about Excellence, Royal Hideaway or Le Blanc. Anyone ever been? One last question for anyone that's been to the Paradisus ... When we were in Punta Cana, the Palma Real did not have elevators, only steps to get from each floor. Does anyone know if this one is the same way? We have family on his side that are a little over weight that would have to be on the first floor if this is the case. Thanks!
  17. That's fantastic! I'm sure it will be fabulous and can't wait to hear all about it!
