That is what I have heard also -- 15 rooms for at least 7 nights each.

I sent my invitations out in July and people had until October 1st to book with our group. Our hotel (the Majestic Colonial) is completely sold out as of last week, so I'd make sure your guests don't wait until the last minute! If you can get some sort of price drop protection, it helps a great deal. My wedding is February 3rd, so just under 3 months to go and everything is sold out!

This has been a source of stress for me also. Often times people can find things cheaper online because might only be 4 or 5 seats at that rate, but the group rate (average price over 10+ seats) might be higher. I didn't believe my TA when she explained this to me, so I called around for different group rates and this was often the case (i.e. the group rate for WestJet was more expensive than the seat sale online). I was lucky that Sunquest was offering a deal where you can reserve 30 seats for 90 days and you only have to pay two deposits. After the 90 days, they just release the seats that were not sold. We also got price drop protection so that if the group rate went down, we'd get a partial refund. The deadline for my group to book was October 15th -- and let me tell you, I had plenty of people tell me that it was way too early to book and that the price was too high. Our group rate was $1610 (taxes included) for the Majestic Colonial, departing Toronto on January 29th. We checked the prices again last week and also got everyone a $110 refund, making our rate $1500 per person! Not bad for January/February, I think. Anyways, a couple of people were still dragging their heels and said they will wait until 2 months before the wedding to book. No one believed that the hotel might sell out. I decided to check the rates yesterday and found that there are no packages left online! So here we are, still 11 weeks until departure and our hotel has sold out. I feel bad that at least 2 good friends will now have to miss our wedding or stay at another hotel, but I'm happy I did go with a TA in the end. I'm just barely containing my "I told you so" comments to my groomsmen, who complained until the very last minute before our deadline.... Good luck ladies! I'm bringing Phil Steingard -- his pictures are amazing! And because he stays at the resort, he is not considered an outside vendor.

No, so far I have only paid a $500 deposit to reserve the Presidential Suite (but that is an extra cost). I believe you pay for the entire wedding package + extras during your meeting with the WC when you get there. Outside vendors may require a deposit though (i.e. we paid a deposit to DJ Mannia).

Thanks Chelsea! I had a great week. I'm starting to see some results from hot yoga now. Also, I find that cutting down on carbs is the one thing that always works for me. I still have fruit and high fiber foods (like adding some banana and all-bran buds to yogurt), but I'm going to continue to limit white bread, pasta etc. until the wedding. I hope everyone else is having a good week!

Thanks Carly! Here's a question for everyone: if you got your treatment before the wedding, did you have to avoid the ocean/pool so that it wouldn't ruin your hair?

Has anyone tried the Keratin Express blow-out? Apparently it's cheaper, takes 1 hour, lasts for 6 weeks, and you don't wash your hair for 8 hours afterwards. I'm wondering if this is a safer, more wallet-friendly alternative?

Congrats ladies! Sorry I forgot my weigh-in this week... I actually took the photo Friday morning, but forgot to send it. I just came back from yoga and I feel great! I think I am doing well but the scale is not moving as much as I want it too, so I am going to get very strict with the carbs this week. Hope everyone is well!
