  1. WEIGH IN DAY!!! Wow, congrats to those who had a great week! Eliana and mnh1983, 3 lbs is awesome!! And sunstarsmoon, 5.5 lbs is just amazing!! I had a pretty good week too -- I lost 2.5 lbs, but I also finally broke a barrier for me (you know, one of those "10" barriers). And Natasha, 1 lb is still great -- better not to gain. Congrats to you too, Cindy! And to those who didn't have such a great week -- no worries, this is only week 1! There is lots of time to catch up. Looking forward to receiving all of your e-mails. If anyone would still like to join in the non-competitive group, it's still not too late. Happy Friday!

I leave for my wedding 2 weeks tommorow and because I have been sick i have been so exhausted and I feel like I am so behind....I'm going to stay in tommorow night and get some much needed R&R So sorry guys!!! Jessica Oh no, I hope you feel better soon! At least you have two weeks to kick this bug before your wedding. Rest up, and I can't wait to hear all about your wedding when you get back!
  3. Slight complication for me.... a friend of ours decided last minute to have a surprise birthday get together for his wife tomorrow night. I have to leave at about 8:30 or so to get there in time for the surprise. I hope they don't take too long to seat us so that I can grab a bite! Sorry for the short visit for me, but I still want to come and see everyone! See you all tomorrow.
  4. I keep trolling the January 2011 thread here... and since we have a few February brides, I thought we could start our own thread. So who is getting married in the DR February, 2011? What have you done so far? I'm getting married February 3rd at the Majestic Colonial. We booked our ceremony with the resort, our photographer, videographer, DJ, and Pastor Rick York. We sent our STD's out on valentines day, and we plan to send invitations out in June with all of the travel information. Currently shopping around different rates with TA's and getting excited to look at dresses next weekend! What about everyone else? I know lots of brides have done tons more already...

I did that last night, napped from about 530-800 and when I woke up had NO energy to workout or even really eat... I feel great today, so I know I'm not getting sick... this seems to happen once a month or so. Sleep habits are consistent- no extra stress at work. IDK! OMG I've been pretty good since I finished university, but my FI is a huuuuge napper. It's so tempting to just cuddle up with him for an hour after work. But then it gets late and by the time I work out and everything, we don't have dinner until after 9PM (which I'm sure isn't good). And then we can't sleep, so we're up until after 1AM and then tired the next day... it's a vicious cycle that I'm trying to avoid. As for a tempting food to give up, I'm going to have to say chocolate. So far I've been awesomely good since Monday! So sorry to hear that Natasha. Our collective thoughts are with you!

I'm just excited that the actual prices are out and not just estimates now
  11. Can you still do your hair curly after getting this treatment? I mean with a blowdryer, diffuser, or curling iron? It would be nice to still do it curly sometimes without all the frizz...
  12. Great job so far, ladies! I just had salad for lunch and now I think I'll go for a little walk. Oh, and I just got an e-mail about a Maggie Sottero trunk show in Toronto next weekend, so I may look at dresses a little sooner than I was planning. Yikes! I have 10 days!
  13. Looks like the rates are starting to come out for February 2011! I can book online now for the Majestic Colonial (January 29 - February 5) for $1389 + $329 taxes. Not so bad... but I'm hoping the group rates will be better.

  15. I was feeling kind of tired today and the weather was so nice, I started thinking about skipping yoga. But then I thought NO! I have to go! So I gathered all my energy and dragged my butt to yoga. I got there 15min early but when I went to sign in, they said the class was FULL! This is the first time I have seen this happen... I feel so disappointed and bleh now. Oh well, maybe tomorrow.

Hey elifrigo, two pieces of chocolate won't kill you, but feeling like a loser might -- don't let the guilt get to you. Every moment is another opportunity to start over. I hope I don't give in and have any. You know what I do when I eat bad and Im feeling horrible. I go home and exercise it off. Kudos to you for resisting the temptation! I know that I would have to remove myself from the situation as well. And that reminds me of that FitBitch blog: FitBitch. It's pretty funny, if you haven't seen it. That girl is always dodging unhealthy coworkers and their junk food, lol.

But I work in a very multicultural area with so many temptations.... sushi, dim sum, indian, thai... the choices are endless. I opted for a grilled chicken salad today... somehow. And LOL about the rule of thumb!
  19. Hey bahiabride2010, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind bringing one of your OOT bags? They are adorable! I might look into that Toronto vendor you mentioned. And also the mugs. Thanks!

Maybe I will try this in the future. For now I'm doing hot yoga 2-3 times per week, and then cardio and some sporadic free weights at the gym in my condo. Trying to work out at least 4x per week.
  21. Good morning! I don't think we have Papa John's here in Canada -- thanks for the clarification. And I'm glad I don't have that extra temptation! I love pizza... especially the kind with chicken and goat cheese.... mmmmm. I was a little slow to start on the weekend, but I was so super good yesterday... protein shake for breakfast, salad + tuna, yogurt for lunch, grilled chicken and veggies for dinner. I've also worked out Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday... so far so good! I'm going to go to hot yoga again today. Thanks for posting that article LeAnne -- that is so true about toxic guilt.

It seems like a lot of hotels are nickle and diming these days but hopefully it's all worth it in the end.
