So, how did your visit go? I hope you found vendors you like. I'm also using Lissy Lampe as my wedding coordinator and I love her. She is so great and responds so quickly. She has referred all of my vendors to me so I'm trusting her judgement. I look forward to hearing about your visit.

If you want something a little more private, can I suggest looking at the Aruba Surfside Marina. It's a beautiful, small bed and breakfast type place with a georgeous stone patio where you can have your dinner and ceremony. They also have a gazebo where can get married (that's where we are having our ceremony). It's very private and far from the hustle and bustle of the resorts. It's also very affordable and have great options for food and drinks. If you go to their website, you can see some great pictures. Good Luck!!

Hey everybody, It's all set. I'm getting married April 18th, 2011!!!! We chose to have the ceremony and dinner reception at the Aruba Surfside Marina. It looks beautiful in the pictures and very private. It is a great off the beach site. Their prices are also great. Ianthe, the coordinator there, has been so great and responds very quickly to your emails. If anybody is looking for a private, off the beach site, check out their website arubasurfsidemarina.com. I'm so excited, and relieved to have the majority of our wedding planning done!!!! Now it's time to focus on the details.

We have picked the Date April 18th, 2011 so far. Now we are just picking a spot to do it and see if it available then.

We are planning on the week of April 16th-23rd, 2011, right before easter. April is a beautiful time of year in Aruba, and the low season starts April 15th, so prices are cheaper. I'm so excited!!!!

It's true that renting a villa can be much much cheaper than going to a resort, just make sure you map it out first, there are a lot of villas that are in middle of the island and not really near anything.

Hi there all of you Aruba Brides, After months of thinking I would do my wedding in Punta Cana, we have changed our minds and are now going to Aruba!!!! Which is what we wanted in the first place, but were initially talked out of it b/c of the money. We have been to Aruba three times before so if you have any island questions just ask. We are actually probably going to have the wedding somewhere on the beach, dinner at a restaurant, and we are going to rent a villa and have our reception there. It'll be private and we can swim afterwards!!!! We thought it was a great cost saving option, since we'll just get a few cases of Amstel Bright (the best beer in the world....definitely try it when you're down there), some bottles of liquor and snacks. We're just looking for the perfect spot now to do the ceremony. We're leaning towards the area by the lighthouse, it's beautiful over there and the pics would look great with the lighthouse in the background. But, we're still debating. Ask me any questions if you have them. I'm so glad i found this forum. Good luck to you all.

If you are looking for a laid back, nice sailing/snorkel cruise, definitely look into the tranquilo (sp?). I went on it with a group of friends a few years ago and we had a great time. It's a real sailboat, not like the jolly pirate, and it's calm and relaxing. You sail for 2-3hrs to the awesome snorkeling area and snorkel for awhile, then they take you to a spot for deep sea snorkeling, which is awesome, and then you have lunch on the boat and sail back. The whole trip is about 6hrs long, so plan a whole day for it. But it was a great experience. Just remember your sunscreen, b/c your on open water for 6hrs. There is a shaded area on the boat though if you wanna get out of the sun.

Ocean Blue & Sand-Punta Cana

They are actually the same resort but have different check in desks. There really is no difference at all. I think maybe they just split up the two to make it easier to keep track of visitors and make for an easier check in. IT's the same pool, buildings, restaurants, bars, etc. -
Palladium Punta Cana Beach Party?
alisonu22 replied to alisonu22's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
Thank you so much for your guy's replys, it's really helped me out. I can't wait for next april, I'm so excited. -
Can anyone tell me what is included in the cost of $9.00 per person for the Grand Palladium Beach Party. The WC emailed me saying that it included set up but not open bar, but the website says "beach party with open bar $9pp". If anyone can clarify that would be so great. Also, if someone can help me with more info on the cocktail hour also that would be awesome. Thanks for all of your guy's help.

Sent you the info I received as well, I figured it was better to have too much information than not enough!!!!! Happy Planning. Sheri, good luck on your wedding also. I hope everything goes good for you. We haven't decided on which resort we're picking yet, but I hope the Ocean Blue works out perfect for your.
